Rating: Summary: Susanne's Diary for Nicholas Review: I thought this book was very moving. The ending was a total surprise. I was in tears. This book shows the true meaning of how to not only love again, but to trust. I have recommended this book to many of my friends and co-workers and those who have finished the book felt the same way.
Rating: Summary: What a waste of time! Review: I cannot believe an accomplished writer wrote this book. It was so juvenile in it's writing. The premise of the novel was good but the execution was very bad. It couldn't have taken James Patterson more than an hour to complete this mockery of a novel. The characters were so one-dimentional. I finished it against my better judgement, hoping it might get better. But it didn't and I cringed the whole time reading the unrealistic, and sappy dialogue.
Rating: Summary: Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas Review: I'm no stranger to James Patterson, having read several of his Alex Cross thrillers. I can't say I enjoyed any of them as much as I enjoyed this latest creation. I couldn't believe it was a James Patterson novel! He wrote with the kind of depth and feeling that only life experience can provide. I don't usually indulge in romance novels, but this story goes beyond the usual romance novel. Its a great read for anyone who is in love, has been in love, or wants to be in love.
Rating: Summary: FANTASTIC Review: THERE ARE NO WORDS TO DESCRIBE THIS BOOK BUT GREAT.
Rating: Summary: Can't Believe It's James Patterson Review: James Patterson is at his best with Alex Cross and his murder and detective series. These are very explicit with the violence and graphic description of essential scenes plus a frenetic chase to catch the perpetrator. Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas is exactly the opposite - very tender, loving, emotional and slow paced describing each character. The diary is the vehicle to express love and a mother's way to capture that love for her son and husband forever and explain the events that Matt could not verbally handle - "Suzanne, Matt and Nicholas forever"! Katie, the recipient of the diary, struggles through her own personal emotions as well and makes an absolutely wonderful choice near the end. Patterson still remains true to his short chapters and tantalizing last sentences to urge you on. I really like his style. I still can't believe Patterson wrote this book; it is nice to see his other personality shine through.
Rating: Summary: A Page Turner Review: This book was simply breathtaking. It put me right there with the charecters , and put me through an array of emotions.I finished it in one night , not being able to put it down .This book was such a different venue for James Patterson and he pulled it off wonderfully.
Rating: Summary: A Rare Supermarket Find Review: Perusing through the vegetables, passing the cereal aisle, I found myself meandering towards the book section of a local supermarket, pessimistically in search of "something different." I was pleasantly suprised to have picked up a James Patterson novel showing his softer, more endearing, and feminine side, and was intrigued the moment I read the coverflap. Unaware of the rave reviews the novel was getting, I plopped down on the couch as soon as I got home, (after the dairy products were safely tucked away in the fridge), and did not stop reading until I was through with the entire book. I laughed, I cried, hated and loved; within the pages I had a chance to reflect upon my own life and acquire a certain personal insight I had never known of beforehand. Simply, I was moved.
Rating: Summary: kathy@caringonline.com Review: I was very surprised with Mr. Patterson's new book. I am an avid reader of mysteries and romances. I would recommend for anyone that likes Nora Roberts, Julie Garwood and Barbara Delinsky - that this is an excellent read.
Rating: Summary: What an extraordionary tale of love Review: I love all of Mr. Patterson's works, especially his Alex Cross books but this book was absolutely. breathtaking, stunning and beautiful in its words. I love all the characters and how they intertwined and interacted. What a heart endearing book.
Rating: Summary: Book groups beware Review: This was truly one of the worst books I've ever read. Why it's on the best seller's list I will never understand. In short, this book is a made for TV movie on paper. The plot is obvious and the writing is juvenile. The author does not convince this reader that a woman was writing in a journal. What the author has convinced this reader of, however, is that books will be published if the author is sellable, not the work.
