Summary: James Patterson imitates Nicholas Sparks
Review: And,unfortunately, he does a very poor imitation. I love both authors and have read all of their books because of their own unique styles of prose. I don't think that Nicholas Evans would ever attempt to write a cops and robbers, shoot-them-up suspense thriller, and I have no idea why James Patterson ever thought he could write an mushy, tear-at-your-heart, tear jerking love story. Albeit, a cute story, and one I did finish, I would never recommend this to someone as an example of a James Patterson book. Unlike when I assumed that Cradle and All was the sequel to the book in which Christine had given birth to Alex Cross's son, and found out the book was totally not about them, but still enjoyed it because it was a good James Patterson who-done-it, this book is just a sappy love story. Very The Notebook and A Walk to Remember. I don't think I would even say it is a good Nicholas Sparks' book, but at least more in his style. But, it is quick reading and can be finished cover to cover with one sit on the beach. But don't expect James Patterson best seller...

Summary: BRAVO!
Review: Bravo James Patterson for writing a book that's sensitive and beautiful. I'm impressed with the emotion and love that was displayed in this book. It's a far cry from Alex Cross or Lindsay Boxer. I loved it!!!

Summary: I Loved this Book!!!!

Summary: A good idea tarnished by too much schmaltz
Review: I give James Patterson credit for an interesting story idea, but did he have to deliver it with so much sacharin? I began rolling my eyes (literally) at the too-good-to-be-true characters and stilted dialogue early-on. I even considered not finishing the book, but soldiered on in hopes it would improve. I admit to being very touched by twists the story took; but, oh, how I wish the characters' pedestals hadn't been so high.

Summary: Something Unexpected from Patterson!
Review: I am a huge James Patterson fan and let me tell you this short story was a nice surprise coming from him. It's definitely not the normal genre I read, but I am very glad I read this one! This story is for anyone who has every loved someone or something. I enjoyed this quick read quite a bit, and have been recommending it to everyone ever since. It's a beautiful tale about love and life in this fast-paced world we live in. You won't be dissappointed. Be sure to have the "puffs" handy. This one will touch you deeply.

Summary: So completely moving..
Review: There have only been 2 books that have openly made me cry- this one and The Bridges of Madison County. This is story is so moving, and wonderful. To understand that the author wrote this book based on true events from his life is all the more compelling. I couldn't put this down, I read it in one day. We all hope to someday have the love that Suzanne and Matt shared, and to extend that love to a child. The trials and devestation that this family goes through, and to imagine reading this as an outsider about the man you love, is just amazing.

Summary: If you like Nicholas Sparks.....you'll love this!
Review: I am a big fan of James Patterson's - and have read all his books. Imagine my surprise when I learned he had written a love story! But I was not surprised for long - I was to engrossed in the book - and I read it in one sitting. The story flashes back and forth between a modern day woman, Katie, recently jilted by her long-term love Matt and the diary of Matt's wife to their son Nicholas. The story is remarkable and evokes to mind the writing style of Nicholas Sparks - especially The Notebook and Message in a Bottle. So, if you like those books, you will love this one. It is also interesting to note that Patterson draws from a real-life experience, which is another reason why this is such an enchanting, inspiring read.

Summary: What a Disappointment!
Review: The premise of the story was good enough but this book was way too syrupy for me. My suggestion - don't waste your time reading this one!

Summary: Don't waste your money
Review: This book was horribly written. After reading the first 10 pages, I knew it was going to be terrible. I finished it just because I wanted to know how it would end. It was an okay story line, but terribly written. I could not believe that James Patterson even allowed this book to be published. He should be ashamed. It was written only for the money, and he is obviously making money from it, but I would be embarrassed to have my name attached to such a terrible piece of writing. I have loved his other novels and was shocked at the lack of quality in this novel.

Summary: Don't Read This In Public--tears will fall
Review: I cried when this story reached its climax. And not just because of the tale, but the way it was told. This is my first Patterson novel, given to me a by a relative to pass time on the treadmill. I finished it in a couple of hours, excited to turn each page. What a wonderful concept, and a wonderful story. You can read a plot rehash in another review...I only need to say I loved every character in the book, which is unusual. Patterson draws each character fully and sympathetically. My only criticism is how "perfect" Matt is...maybe this man exists...but I sure don't know of anyone like him. His character gave the book a "romance novel" tone. I let that slide during my rating decision, though, because it had not much to do with how the story unraveled, or how it affected me.
