Rating: Summary: Through the Eyes of Love Review: This book is truly a love story from front to back. I loved the book and recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good, mushy love story. It was easy reading and can be read quickly. Some reviews have stated that the characters in this story were too good to be true. I disagree. Suzanne, Matt and Nicholas and Kate may have not been perfect people but in each of their eyes, they saw no faults in each other. The old saying "Love is blind" is so true in this book. The book ended the way I wanted it to end. I sort of expected the outcome to be as it was.
Rating: Summary: No "Bridges of Madison County" Review: At first I hesitated to buy this book because I felt it would not meet my expectations. Then I read some of the reviews and saw the author on the Today show and decided to take a chance. Boy was I disappointed!!! The story and characters were just not believable at all. I was hoping for another "Bridges of Madison County" and instead got a cheap romance novel. [....]
Rating: Summary: Hooray! Review: I always wondered if I could write a novel, and after reading this bestselling travesty I am certain that I can! Surely big $$ await if only I can dream up something totally predictable, full of idealized and unbelievable characters and oozing with ridiculous melodrama. Shouldn't be too hard. I think I can have it written in the next five minutes.
Rating: Summary: What a Disappointment!!! Review: I have read just about every Patterson book, so you can imagine how disappointed I was with this one. It's cool to explore a different genre, but in so doing why not use some of the devices that made the old one work so well. How about interesting, multidimesional characters, how about twists and turns of plot, how about some conflict and tension in the love relationship, how about some good old-fashioned realism. This was just a tad to syrupy sweet for my tastes. It was a page-turner, though, I kept turning waiting for something unpredictable to happen, a total shocker. Alex Cross, where are you????
Rating: Summary: Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas Review: Being a fan of both John Grisham and more so, Mr. James Patterson ... I felt compelled to write my first ever review on this site. First off, re: John Grisham's latest; I read the critics review of his "diversion from mysteries to a more personal story" which were quite negative and critical. However, I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT, felt it was beautifully written and believe it was one of finest books! So, after I watched an interview with Mr. Patterson, and he so eloquently described this book as his "personal best and most favorite" and something to the effect of "if his readers did not share his views, he would be shocked", I purchased it straightaway. Well Mr. Patterson, BE SHOCKED, as I was utterly disappointed in this Danielle Steel type of sappy and mundane "story". It was so predictable that within the first few chapters I knew what had happened to "this beloved Suzanne" and immediately felt my 22.95+ had just been thrown away. I was surprised, to say the least, that those words were written by the great James Patterson.
Rating: Summary: Simplicity at its finest Review: James Patterson's new novel may follow the same storyline as a movie: One for television. The story begins with Katie Wilkinson's heart being broken by her partner Matt. Afterward, a package is left at her door by Matt in that it was a diary from a woman named Suzanne for her child Nicholas. The diary gives an exquisite detail of Matt and Suzanne as well as how they fell in love, got married, and the birth of Nicholas. However, as Katie reads the secrest of someone else in love with the same man she is, her emotions run the gambit from anger to confusion to sadness that leads to a decision that will effect the rest of her life. The ending may be a suprise for some readers while others may figure out what will happen. In all, a simple book that allows the reader to choose which character to follow and the heartaches and the pain that comes along with finding the perfect person yet not knowing everything about him.
Rating: Summary: suzanne's diary for nicholas Review: This book was a total waste of my time. I could not believe how unrealistic and sappy it was. I found myself scanning down pages to avoid some of the author's overdone rantings of love. I kept hoping something would occur in the story to save the plot. Unfortunately, it was totally predictable.
Rating: Summary: Delightful Review: It's one of those books that you just can't put down. I stayed up late to finish it - when finished with it you'll want to share it with friends and family
Rating: Summary: A Good Book Review: I'm not really a James Patterson fan, but this book was pretty good. It really moved me. I felt for the characters. I can only imagine what it would be like to lose my wife and child. It's really scary. This book made me think of what I've got and not to waste it. I will use the lesson of the five balls.
Rating: Summary: A surprise Review: Readers of James Patterson novels know romance isn't central to the plot. Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas was absolutely fantastic. The characters were sweet; the storyline, full of hope and sadness; the ending, a delight. I was all-around impressed with Patterson in this novel.
