Summary: Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas
Review: Last night I wasted two hours reading this book. I have to say that it took me to new heights of disappointment. Patterson's books are always favorites of mine but he has gone way outside his ability on this one. It is sappy, corny and trite--to repeat myself. The characters are made of flimsey cardboard and have not one ounce of substance. I am aware that this is supposed to be a "tear jerker" but how can anyone cry for people they don't know? This book reads like a bad first novel written by a love sick preteen. For a writer who has mastered the element of suspense in his past work, he certainly gave it all away on the first page. The only thing that I would like to have from this experience is my money back.

Summary: Another Patterson Success
Review: James Patterson has done what John Grisham failed to do with his "Painted House" book. Patterson has made a successful transition from the master of suspense, to a kindler gentler Patterson in "Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas." It is a touching story from start to finish, and it is another clear example of his fine literary abilities. Great Job! Watch out for Violets are Blue in November. PAtterson fans can't wait!

Summary: ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL STORIES EVER WRITTEN
Review: James Patterson and his Alex Cross novels have captured the attention of readers around the world. His has written some terrific psychological thrillers and a couple of less acclaimed novels, such as "When the Bough Breaks" which might have been best left in the closet. However, James Patterson's fans will not be the least disappointed in his latest masterpiece. It could not be further from the action packed, Alex Cross, crime novels, but it is every bit as worthy of praise and acclaim.

Katie Wilkinson, a book editor, has been left by her boyfriend, Matt. Matt, however, gives Katie a diary written by his first wife, Suzanne, for his son Nicholas. As Katie reads through the diary, she is not only compassionately drawn to Suzanne but develops a better understanding of Matt. The story that evolves will capture your heart and will long be remembered after the final page has been read. You will laugh and you will cry. The book is on the same par as "The Bridges of Madison County" and "Message in a Bottle." The readers will be pleasantly surprised at the new creative ability of Patterson in this sure to be best seller. Do not miss this book, it is packed with emotion and the reader is immediately drawn to the strong characters. This is once again, James Patterson at his finest - worthy of a whole universe of stars!

Summary: A Touching Story of Pure and Innocent Love
Review: I an departure of James Patterson usual novels, James Patterson proves that he is not only an extemely talented mystery-thriller author, but also a man, whose deep understanding of women and men and their emotional needs translates to a love story which, I believe, is better than Love Story, or Bridges of Madison County. His wonderful writing makes his charcters and their surroundings come to life for the reader. Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas is very satisfying love story for both women and men.

Summary: Couldn't put it down!
Review: Excellent and easy read! I read it in a day! Intriguing!

Summary: I wouldn't recommend this book to a mother
Review: From the very beginning of the book I was emotional. About halfway through the book, after blubbering for most of the book, I realized that it was going to get more sad and ended up flipping through the last 50 pages or so. It was very predictable and as a mother of a one year old son, it was very hard for me to read. I was drawn into the book and read most of it quickly but I was hoping for a happy ending and was sadly dissapointed. I would raed another book like this if Patterson wrote it as long as someone could tell me in advance that it was a happier book!

Summary: Zzzz...wake me up when it's over
Review: I will admit that I am not one to read books that smack of sentimental drivel, but this one was forced on me...as a selection of my book discussion group. Never before have I read a more predictable, boring book. Mawkish from the start, this book never captured my interest, not that I would admit it even if it did. If you are a dedicated reader looking for a good book, please do what I couldn't do and pass this one up. Trust me, you're not missing anything you can't recoup from watching the lifetime channel on cable.

Summary: A wonderful book
Review: This is quite possibly one of the best books I've ever read. If a friend is looking for a good book to read, I almost always recommend this first. It's shows that Mr. Patterson can truly write. To go from murder in Washington DC to a tear jerker of a love story must not be an easy thing to do, but Mr. Patterson does it flawlessly. A definite must read!

Summary: A must read
Review: I loved this book. It's much different from his others, but it's certainly one of his best, and a real tear jerker. I was reading this on a plane and had to hold back tears for practically the entire flight.

A great story about love and loss and the gifts and lessons they bring. It makes you take a look at your own life and to appreciate all you have a little more. Everyone who I've lent this to just loves it.

Summary: Why have you NOT read this book yet?!?!
Review: OHMYGOSH! You will need the ENTIRE box of Kleenex for this one! It is a heartbreaking story, and even moreso when I found out it was based upon James Patterson's life!! This is the most beautiful love story, but not cheesy Danielle Steele style. You definitly have to read this if you enjoy authors like Nicolas Sparks. I'd like to give it 10 out of 5 stars, but apparently it's not possible...
