Rating: Summary: I Love This Book Review: Personally I don't like to read but this book was so good that I could not put it down. It was a little perverted at times however I don't think it hurt the quality of the story. This is one of Pattersons best works. From beginning to end it was non stop action and exitement. The affection between Alex and Kate was one of the finer subplots in the book. It's too bad the movie did not do it justice.
Rating: Summary: A TERRIFIC story with a TEDIOUS ending! Review: By Four Readers from Cleveland!!!! Kiss the Girls, was an extraordinarily intense book. It was a "page-turning, all-engrossing,edge-of -your-seat" story. That is if you ignore the several plot holes through-out, and the long, drawn-out ending that left us all going "is that it?" Aside from these few factors, the story was a pure thriller. James Patterson definitely knows the key to keeping the audience's attention from beginning to end. Perhaps it was the short chapters or just the skill of captivating the minds of his readers. Patterson manages to get his readers involved in the story line along with the characters. These characters are remarkably realistic, and vividly described to the readers. A technique which allows the reader to "visualize" and "personalize" the characters. Whatever his technique may be, it definitely worked, and all four of us agreed that we will continue to read Patterson novels. We just hope that Patterson will be able to finish these books more suitably than he has in the past because the type of end that he used put a damper on the entire book. Patterson does not finish off his story lines, or explain how things came about or how they happened. This prevents the reader from being fully aware of the circumstances among the characters. The reader can not fully establish the relationships among the characters, which prevents the reader from becoming fully aware of the character's dispositions. Aside from this, Kiss the Girls, is an extremely profound book, that provokes the mind.
Rating: Summary: 1st Patterson book I have read, ending was anticlimatic. Review: I just wasn't impressed with the book overall. I had some high expectations since it has been quite popular but I just think it was not as strong in areas it could have been strong in. Specifically, the Gentleman Callers role was not developed to the extent it could have been. Talk about an ending that was a real letdown. I haven't written Patterson off though, I think I will give his book A Long Came A Spider a chance.
Rating: Summary: A PAGE TURNER! Review: I read this book long after the movie was out of the theaters. I wasn't too keen on reading it due to the bad reviews the movie received. Was I suprised! It had to be one the best books I ever read: suspenseful, thought-provoking and it kept me on the edge of my seat. I could not put it down. I thought I knew who the killer was about three different times, until the ending when I was suprised to find out it was none of my choices. PLEASE READ THIS BOOK - YOU WON'T BE SORRY!
Rating: Summary: I couldn't put the book down for the last 100 pages Review: This book was really good. I really like the way Patterson uses two killers in "Kiss the Girls" as well as "Jack and Jill" This method creates a lot of action. Towards the end I kept thinking that I new who Casanova was but then it would ne someone else.
Rating: Summary: A GOOD BOOK Review: This is a good book.... The plot is strong ..... the author keeps you hung into the incidents plotted by Casanova and the Gentlemen killer....... i think the ending could have been made more exciting.... overall i would recommnend it..... a good book!!!
Rating: Summary: KISS THE GIRLS is clever, fun and scary! Review: KISS THE GIRLS is the most suspenseful novel I have ever read. I have also read ALONG CAME A SPIDER but enjoyed this one much more. In both of these books, you get to know the killer very well. In SPIDER, Gary Soneji is a man obsessed with being famous, and he kidnaps two children and slashes a few people along the way. In this book we get to know Alex Cross, a likeable doctor\detective. This was a pretty good book and had it's moments but the ending was somewhat annoying after the killer was kind of phased out. In KISS, the scariest part is that "Casanova," a sick man obsessed with women, is a main character. We see his emotions and know a lot about him - but we don't know WHO he is. One of the most fascinating parts in this book says that Casanova is sitting next to a woman who he has nearly killed. Alex Cross walks in, says hello, and Casanova leaves. It is scary taht Alex has just TALKED WITH the killer and we still don't know who he is. Kate McTiernan is a very likeable character, but other characters aren't fleshed out like they should be - especially the Gentleman Caller, another killer who is even more brutal. He is not introduced until well into the other plot about Alex's niece being kidnapped by Casanova. Patterson should have introduced the Gentleman Caller and really had us get to know him, too. A few endings too many in this book, especially one where Alex goes through a chase scene and is sure that Casanova is a supporting character we meet early in the book, and after all that it's just a mere slip-up. Casanova is a very creepy and enjoyable killer - more fun and much creepier than Soneji. There are several scary scenes involving Casanova's creepy House of Horror, and I am eagerly waiting to read JACK AND JILL. Haven't seen the movie yet.
Rating: Summary: A Real Thrill! Review: If you like a quick paced, adventure filled, action novel with a lot of suspense and character depth--don't stop at go, don't hesitate. BUY THIS BOOK. It had me on the edge of my seat until the very last page! Alex Cross puts Kaye Scarpetta to shame! Read this book and enjoy the addiction.
Rating: Summary: Excellent - I couldn't put it down. Review: Forget what the others say who didn't like it - buy this book and you won't put it down until you have finished it. I am an avid reader and this is the best book I have ever read. If you liked 'Along Came A Spider' you will love this.
Rating: Summary: Kudos-Intense-Spellbinding-Suspenseful KISS !!! Review: This is my 2nd Patterson's book and he did not disappoint me with his usual fast pace narrative skills, good characterization and lots of twists & turns plots. Some opinions though, the build-up
to the revelation of Casanova's identity could have been done more intriguingly. JP could have also explore deeper into the Gentleman
Caller and Casanova's background, something
like what Thomas Harris did for Francis Dolarhyde in 'The Red Dragon'. Overall, it is still
a good and compelling book to read.
