Rating: Summary: Another Thriller From Patterson Review: I am huge fan of James Patterson and I will usually read his books in 1 or 2 sittings and this book was no exception! Detective Alex Cross shines again, as he relentlessly pursues east coast and west coast murders! What was really fascinating was the concept of twinning in the aspect of committing murders. As always, Patterson will have you hanging from chapter to chapter and just when you think you have it all figured out, something explosive occurs and you don't really know who the killer is until they very end! I am always stumped, but that is what makes reading his books so enjoyable!! I really enjoy Alex Cross' character. He is real and believable and Patterson gets the reader into Alex's mind and into the psychology of trying to figure out the killer! This character is great and I am onto the next Alex Cross mystery!! If you are a Patterson fan, as I am, this book will not disappoint!
Rating: Summary: Best book I've read in a while Review: WOW - is all I can say to describe the book. It just gripped me by the throat right from the 1st chapter. I sat up all night to finish it cos the suspense was killing me!!
Rating: Summary: reader beware Review: I really like James Patterson, but I had a hard time getting through this book because of the subject matter. If you, or anyone close to you has been raped or kidnapped, it could be a hard read. I put it down twice before I could finished it.
Rating: Summary: The Perfect Thriller Book For Me... Review: I went on a vacation carrying a few books but decided to buy this at the last minute at the airport store. I was in the mood for a fun page-turner and hadn't seen this movie. What a great buy. I read it in three days, before I even touched the books I did bring with me. It is a very realistic story with very real characters, including the bad guys. The short chapters are a great technique to keep our interest up and also to keep us from putting the book down. I am usually pretty good at figuring out this kind of story, but all my guesses were wrong. I thought I had the killer nailed and was way off the mark. Patterson gives you a chance to guess again at the end. I missed that one, too. While no great piece of classic literature, this book scored the five stars for me in terms of my expectations and experience with the genre. It is my first Patterson book and will by no means be my last. It is not a brainless page-turner, it takes you in and makes you think from a lot of different angles (cops, bad guys and victims alike).
Rating: Summary: James Patterson's best effort as a writer Review: This book just has everything you want in a thriller. A great detective, great suspects, and a well written plot. Patterson really gets you into the story and keeps you on the edge of your seat. One of the best thriller I have ever read.
Rating: Summary: Simply Amazing Review: Kiss the Girls is by far the most suspencefull, and exciting book I've ever read. From the first sentence till the last it never loses its action packed edge. Its short 2 page chapters always keep you guessing whats about to happen resulting in a night of pure suspense and action. I couldn't put this book down until it was finished. I reccomend this book to anyone and everyone. When I started this book I had just read Great Expectations so I hated all words any author wrote, but after finishing this masterpiece, the next day I went to the nearest bookstore and bought 4 more of J. Patterson's books. I have finished three more of his books in one week which is the most I've ever read in my whole life. I can't put any of them down, but I believe Kiss the Girls is by far his best work.
Rating: Summary: great chill with damp end Review: This is my second Patterson novel as I started with Alex Cross seria in 'Along Came the Spider'. I bought it on airport in Boston going back home to Europe and I read half trough it on the plain. Though I was tired form the trip one of the first things I want to do to go to my bed nad read till the end. I was just to tired to menage it. I really like the suspension in the beging and in the middle of the story as J. Patterosn is really good at it. Alex Cross is now more belivable and much less childish caracter in the book as in 'Spider', so Kate is very real. With both you can feel anguish, anxiety, fear, rage, and speciality of themself as well as their stories. No wonder why this was the book that made first movie, not 'Along Came the Spider'. JP did very well on describing serial killers though again I missed more of pshycological profiling of those killers. Sometimes the book didn't anwser some of most obvious question every reader were aksing, or anwser came really delayed. In the end, when they finnaly locate the killer I missed final armagedon as this book developed story really brutaly good, but then the end is more lukewarming. But anyhow, you'll read it in one night, and I recomend it for leisure reading.
Rating: Summary: A Perfect Thriller!! Review: I was hooked from page one! This is one of the best books I have read in a long, long time! I read "Along Came A Spider" first and it was ok, but the second book in the series floored me!! The chapters come in one to four page formats and are fast & furious, with one of the most shocking ending twists I have ever read. Dr. Alex Cross is one of the best literaty heroes of the book world today, along with another favorite of mine, Patricia Cornwell's Dr. Kay Scarpetta. A fancinating read for anyone that loves a book they cannot put down. "Kiss The Girls" is a page-turner at its very best!!
Rating: Summary: Just as good as Along Came a Spider, if not, then better! Review: For those of you who read, "Along Came a Spider," you'll be happy to know that this is the 2nd book in the Alex Cross series. This time its better. Again, Patterson is very descriptive, and keeps us in touch with what the characters are feeling inside. While not bringing back Soneji from the first Alex Cross, he brings us two killers this time. In "Kiss the Girls," two killers are cooperating, communicating, and competing for beautiful women. Alex gets involved with the kidnapping of his neice. But Alex must go down TO THE SOUTH in order to rescue his neice. As with most of the Alex Cross novels, there are two clever pattern killers. But this time Patterson is more descriptive than in some of his other novels. He explains what the feelings are, and mood swings of others. This was a very exciting novel, and I think that you'll enjoy it.
Rating: Summary: Please, not the snake Review: Wow. It was a good book, about a man who keeps women in his own private harem. A little too misogynistic for me and I probabaly won't ever read anything by Patterson agian. But I don't regret buying it. However the scene with the snake, (very symbolic) was a little too much, so the book lost a star for that. The remaining stars are 2 for Kate and 2 for Alex, because they seemed so realistic.
