Rating: Summary: The true love, loving yourself Review: Just reading the first chapter inspired me the need to read this book, from now I will understand the really meaning of love and where to find it. It was a beautiful experience to share with other people, specially the one you are starting to care of.
Rating: Summary: This book has been inspirational Review: Iyanla has rekindled the spark of love deep down inside me... the spark that has been laying dormant all these years.Thank YOu!
Rating: Summary: Fulfilling!! Review: This book gave me the answers I was searching for. I haven't even finished reading it, and I feel like a renewed individual. I was indeed a basement dweller, that was stuck In the Meantime for quite a while. This book is so inspirational and so fulfulling. I can say that it has changed me even in the smallest sense. I don't feel angry anymore, but I still am a little disappointed and hurt. Nevertheless, I'm sure that will all change with time, patience, and a little understanding. Mrs. Iyanla Vanzant is truly a gifted individual and people everywhere that have read her books should be grateful. Bless you sister!!
Rating: Summary: A book that is missing from the bible! a must read for all. Review: This was the best book I have ever read. The pages struck a cord in me on every page I turned. This book is not to be labled as a typical self-help book, because it is so much more than that. It answered so many "WHY"and "How" questions for me. My lasting thought on this book is that it must be a book missing from the Bible. There are so many truths in it. Iyanla Vanzant is an author truely gifted by God. I am so blessed to have been able to come in contact w/ this book, and so will you.
Rating: Summary: This book is great for everyone... Review: This book can be very helpful to everyone whether they are in a relationship or not. It shines light on why people act the way they do. I have used this book to get over a recent break-up and it has made me realize my potential. Anyone can read this book and realize they are reading themselves. This book contains information that has been around for a while but the author's eloquent writing style makes the message bolder. I highly recommended it to everyone and I have told everybody I know about it!!! It's definitely on my gift list to my friends....
Rating: Summary: Iyanla Vanzant is a great author but very redundant. Review: In the Meantime is a good book if you are facing some of the adversity that life can present. She does an excellent job in covering real life issues and encouraging you to excell despite the problems. But, if you have either heard Iyanla Vanzant speak in person or if you've had the opportunity to read some of her other works please save your money! Iyanla Vanzant is very redundant after reading one book you can basically submisse what the other books are like. If you still would like to read books by Iyanla go to you local library and check it out.
Rating: Summary: Disjointed and difficult Review: There are glowing comments about this book here, but it is way over-rated in my opinion. Although I did get a few things out of it here and there, overall I found it very difficult to put this stuff all together. This is a difficult book to read. After I finished it, I loaned it to a friend who wanted to read it, and she couldn't finish it. I have gained much more from other books. Another book with a similar theme that you may want to look into (ie, that you go through a process of "climbing up the mountain" to recreate your life) is Rebuilding, by Bruce Fisher - this is intended for people going through divorce, and it is first rate.
Rating: Summary: A must read for anyone searching their soul for a better way Review: This is one of the only self-help books available that challenges the reader to grow by feeling. I cannot wait to read other books by this author.
Rating: Summary: A great book for those going through life's changes Review: The author's wonderful writing style and the great analogies she uses helped me to understand not only why my relationships have had problems but why I was the one causing them! Plus, it helped me to see what I need to do to prepare myself to find true love. Now I find myself actually excited about love and relationships. I recommend this book to everyone...in or out of relationships.
Rating: Summary: New York agrees with Michigan and Arizona. Review: Somewhat helpful, but too vague. My roommate couldn't get through it and she reads everything. She recommended Undoing Depression, said that there was more concrete advice in three chapters on relationships in that book than in the whole of Meantime. She was right!
