Summary: A definite pick-me-up!
Review: This book changed my whole life and way of thinking after the first chapter. I was spending alot of money in therapy for what this one woman helped me do for under $20. Not many people truly understand how to love themselves...she gives you the tools and the information needed. She is totally inspiring!!!! A MUST HAVE!!!

Summary: This book has taught me to love me
Review: I found that In the Meantime was the sequel I needed for One day my soul just opened up. I am a 26 years old single mom. All along I thought as being a God fearing woman I was ready for a relationship until I became prepared by Iyanla Vanzant. I now realize that the TRUTH is, I wasn't ready because I had to learn to love me first. God has truly allowed this woman to deliver a powerful message to me. Thank you Iyanlya for allowing God to use you to save me and so many others. I'm sure there are many more like myself in the attic with our feet up, having moved out of our love's unclean house, and waiting on the Lord to reveal to us our life's soul mate. Thank you again.

Summary: An important book for any woman or man in search of truth
Review: The book can be vague at times. Personally I found the first third repetitous and I began to think it would never get to the nuts and bolts. By the time I finished I was completely blown away. This book is a must have for anyone who is truly searching for themselves and/or that special someone. My definition of love has changed entirely. Open your heart and mind and read this book.

Summary: Spiritually uplifting, thought-provoking -- a great read!
Review: As an author myself, I always admire writers who can stir self-reflection and further understanding. Having just gotten out of an abusive marriage which ended in divorce, Vanzant touches on how to get over that "shoulda, coulda, woulda" phase that plagues a lot of us, and just drags you down. In addition, she helps you put your own mind at ease to move forward, regardless of where you are on your spiritual or personal growth journey. Read this insightful book if you want to get in touch with yourself, take responsibility for the future, let go of negative feelings, and learn to touch other people's lives with a lot of positives!

Summary: I felt the book was helpful but too vague
Review: When I first started reading this book I was so excited, I couldn't read it fast enough - I was in tears by the second page of the first chapter! I found this book very insightful and I got some very good information, however, was dissapointed that it was very repetitive and vague. I enjoyed the metaphors she used and felt like they were fitting, but I felt like she used way too many - it was like she had so many good ones she just had to use them all. When I read this book I was in the middle of a very painful meantime experience and I just wanted her to get to the point! I wanted some answers and QUICK! I enjoyed the stories of the people she used, and those along with the introduction and first chapter were probably the most helpful parts of the book to me.

Summary: Fell short of the goal line by 10 yards!
Review: All in all this is a really good book. However, I was disapointed to find out that in order to find out what the practical suggestions of what to do in order to start "cleaning ones house" comes in the form of another book that the author wants you to buy. That's right kids...after the last page of the book is an order form for her other "workbook" that actually tells you what practical steps to take in order to get the ball rolling. How do you spell ripoff? R-I-P-O-F-F! Do yourself a favour and get the book from the library, read it and then sink your money into the workbook. Like I said earlier, this is a good book, but to make people shell out more money to get what should have been included in the first place leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Summary: In the Meantime gave me the push I needed!
Review: Hi, I'm 28 yrs. old and on my second marriage. After getting married so young and doing it over again, I thought I had the answers. But without realizing it I was falling into the same patterns and almost lost the best thing that ever happened to me. In the Meantime showed me the way, now my new life, love, and spirit is stronger. Iyanla thank you for saving my life and helping me love myself for the first time!

Summary: this book made me realize how toxic my behavior was
Review: In the Meantime completely changed my life! After reading the book in three days, I finally began to see patterns in my behavior that needed to change. This book takes you step by step through Love's House, forcing you to take responsibility for and clean up your own trash! I slowly began to see how toxic my behavior really was (looking outside of myself for happiness) and am working every day to see things in a different perspective. I have recommended this book to several friends; all of whom loved it! You will become a different person as a result of changing your attitude about being In the Meantime!!

Summary: EXTRAORDINARY!
Review: Looking for more understanding about your relationships? You've come to the right place! Ms. Vanzant does an amazing job of guiding us through those relationship tangles we sometimes find ourselves facing. As usual, she is wise, witty & gives it to you straight!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: DEFINATELY A MUST HAVE BOOK FOR ALL WOMEN
Review: I'm 23-years old and I have been through some things in my life which I could never understand without having read this book. It thoroughly explains how one determines what they want and the best MEANS to go about getting it.
