Summary: Magic Kingdom for Sale
Review: this is my first Terry Brooks. I've read The Druid of Shannara, Elfstones of Shannara, Wishsong of Shannara and Elf Queen of Shannara.. All I can say is that Brooks is THE writer. We are talking about one creative mind here.

I still like 'Magic Kingdom for Sale' best, though..

Summary: Spectacular! A Must Read!
Review: With this book, the author does something amazing. Not only does he present a wonderfully detailed world, Brooks also breathes a new life into the overdone "reluctant heroe" type book.In addition the cast is well detailed. No, flat lined personalities here! READ THIS BOOK! You won't regret it.

Summary: Very boring for the most part.
Review: I found this book very boring. Especially in the beggining. It gets a little better towards the end. Most of the book just seemed to drag.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: i hated the book
Review: It dragged on, escpecially in the beginning. It started to bcome good but then it started to drag on. It started to become about ben's love and why he could never love again.

Summary: Excellent! Unputdownable!
Review: This book is really great! Terry Brooks really do know how to take all the reader to the magic kingdom.I really love the way he combines real world with magical world. How great it would be if I can visit Landover?

Review: Wow! Terry Brooks does it again with this book. a new twist on the fatasy genre. Plenty of action, humor and thought went into this book. The charecters are witty and fun to read about. Defintily a must read.

Summary: Incredible Journey!
Review: Terry brooks is a master of fantasy. Magic Kingdom was the first book of his that I had read and it is so good that I have read it three times, given it to a friend to read, and then bought it again for my fiancee. It is always a joy to pick up a book, and within a few pages, be thrown into a fantastic world, on an incredible journey, with such vivid characters. I felt as though I had become the main character, Ben Holiday. And the link between this reality and the kingdom of Landover made it seem so ... possible. If you long to get away from it all and take an exciting journey, do it now, and buy your own Magic Kingdom!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Immersing plot, endearing characters, wonderful ideas
Review: This is most definitely one of the best fantasy books I have read in a long time. Mr. Brooks has given this Magical Kingdom, Landover, a vivid description and an ever present sense of unpredictability. The hero, Ben, is capable and easy to root for, yet has enough flaws and makes enough mistakes to seem human. There is no one main villian, or nemesis if you will, but an assortment of rivals and troublemakers which test Ben's strength and intelligence to the utmost. His group of friends and supporters, small though they may be, have abilities which Ben is able to discover through his perception of others. For a fantasy story, this one was incredibly realistic, which made it very easy to read and to keep reading. I felt this sense of realism was balanced by the presence of Ben's knowledge of our Earth, and his experiences in it. To this end I would have to disagree with other reviewers, in that I feel Mr. Brooks added to this book by having it start on Earth, and didn't detract from it. Despite all this, the book was not perfect, and some parts were not done to the standard set by the others. For example, the mystery of the Paladin, and its sudden appearances and disapperances were not really explained by the explanation presented at the end of the book. All in all, I do believe this is a very different (and possibly better) book than many of the fantasy stories written today, and certainly is a very good read.
