Rating: Summary: This series is as good or better than Shannara! Review: Okay, to all the skeptics who were sure Terry Brooks could never write anything that Tolkien didn't think of first, HA! This book and the four others in the series take every fantasy cliche and turn them inside out, as well as bringing in some completely new ideas. I loved how part of the novel was set in the real world -- it made Landover seem even more magical by comparison. This series is a LOT of fun. I highly recommend it!!
Rating: Summary: Great Book! Really Enjoyable!! Review: This book was great, really humorous. I loved the combination of the real world of Earth and the fantasy world of Landover. I also realy enjoyed the characters like the smart ones with no commonsence that really made me laugh every time I read about them. This book also had some good and original villians. This is a must read. Good job Terry, you've really outdone yourself.

Rating: Summary: A VERY DEFINITE MUST READ!!! Review: Not wanting to write a long, boring review, I'll just sum up the book in one perfectly understandable word- Kickin'!
Rating: Summary: Amazing Review: One of the best Terry Brooks books I've ever read. It should be added to all the high school english classes reading lists instead of Alive or The Lord of the Flies. If I would have known about Terry Brooks in school, all my book reports would have been on him!!
Rating: Summary: A Fantasy Book for People who dont like Fantasy Review: This an excellent story of one mans adventure to find himself. After the death of his wife he will do just about anything to restore a reason to live. He finds that reason after wearily purchasing a Magic Kingdom. After second guessing the possibility of their being such a thing he takes the chance and purchases the rights to becoming the King of Landover. From the second he enters the the magical world the adventure begins. The characters are great and you really begin to like and care what happens to them. I'm not a fan of fantasy novels , but I loved this book and the four others that follow it. You've tried Grisham and Koontz and Patterson. Now try another best selling author in Terry Brooks. The Shannarra series are his most popular but the Landover novels are his best.
Rating: Summary: Brooks greatest work EVER! Review: Terry Brooks has never put a better pen to paper than the tale he tells here in the first Landover novel. The fact that the writing is nearly complete and utter rubbish doesn't say much for the rest of his work......on the good side, it's not nearly as derivative and theft-riddled as his Shannara books, earning it a whole two stars more stars than it deserved. Way to go Terry, at least you came up with an idea that was (partially) your *own*. (as if the "normal guy enters a fantasy world" thing hasn't been done to death as well)
Rating: Summary: Great Idea, bad execution Review: I bought this book because I really liked the concept of buying a magic kingdom. This kingdom, however, didn't seem very magic to me, but rather full of fantasy cliches. Also, nothing much happens anywhere unless the lawyer-turned-king actually goes there. It appeared to me that the whole kingdom is frozen and only parts of it come to life as our hero appears there. Finally, the whole plot is very predictable. On the up side, brooks has a few funny ideas and knows how to make one turn the pages, hence two stars. With so many good fantasy books left for me to read, after the experience of this book I am glad I don't have to look at Brook's work any more.
Rating: Summary: Great Fantasy Fiction Book Review: Magic Kingdom For Sale Sold is a great book. It combines truths of today with a fatasy novel set into the midevil days. Witches, Dragons, and Wizards, this book has it all.
