Summary: And the Winner Is......
Review: Nicholas Allen, the main character in this story, has always had quite a creative personality. Now he's in the fifth grade and his language arts teacher, Mrs. Granger, is a fanatic about the dictionary. Nick comes up with a plan to invent a new word just to annoy Mrs. Granger. He comes up with the word FRINDLE - which means pen. Not only does his plan to pester Mrs. Granger work but his word soon becomes used all across the country.

This is an enjoyable, easy to read story. The black and white illustrations help to enhance the humor in this story.

Summary: Everyone in our book club loved the book, Frindle!
Review: Our Book Club, the Bethany B.E.A.T. (Books Entertain and Teach) read Frindle for the first selection of the year. Everyone agreed that the story was well-written and the characters seemed so real. Nick reminded several people of students that they knew. It was very interesting to learn that the person who appeared to be causing Nick so much trouble and heartache was really the person who wanted him to achieve the most. It made alot of the people in our club think of teachers who had played similar roles in their lives. Frindle started our book club off to a great year of reading fun.

Summary: It was a funny book.
Review: I really liked this book because I thought that it was very humorous and interesting book. This book was a story about what happens to a young boy who uses his imagination and creativity. He invents words like "frindle". This one ends up in a dictionary. This was a very good book.

Summary: A five star book
Review: The reason I gave Frindle five stars is because it was a great book that I just couldn't stop reading. My favorite part was when Nick invented the word frindle. My other favorite part was when Nick tries to pass the word around the whole school. I would recommend this book a good bed time book or a good family book to read in the evening. I know that I liked frindle and I know that all children and adults would like it too. I chose Frindle because of its bright green cover I knew from that day on this book would be exciting and adventurous, and I knew that Frindle would be a great book for me.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Its a great book
Review: It took me a long time to read Frindle, but I loved it . It was a very funny story. My favorite part was when Mrs. Granger made a sign that said "anyone who is heard using the word frindle instead of the word pen will stay after school and write this sentence one hundred times : I am writing this punishment with a pen."

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: a great way to pass the time on a long car drive!
Review: I had previously read this book and loved it, so I thought I'd get the audio version to take along on a recent road trip. This was a huge success! Everyone sat still, was quiet and enjoyed passing the time in the car by having a book "read" to them. I plan to take children's books on tape along on all future road trips. No whining "Are we there yet?", no hitting and tattling. It was wonderful!!!!! I can't say enough good things about this particular book or the idea of using books on tape in the car.
