Rating: Summary: Frindle is a must-read book Review: Frindle is a book about a boy who has a lot of good ideas and usually puts them into action. Now with the help of a teacher he makes a new word. The same teacher loves the dictionary and doesn't like the new word. I think the book is a good book to imagine with. I liked reading it, and have probably read it at least four or five times!

Rating: Summary: Excellent Book Review: This is an excellent book for young readers. It tells kids that they can do stuff that makes an impact, even when they don't really intend to. The book is good natured and wholesome. The positive attitude is transmitted even through the viewpoint of a mischevious little boy who starts with a prank and ends with a whole new outlook on the English language, as well as a fortune. I recommend the book highly. My children liked it, and I did too.
Rating: Summary: Book Review of "Frindle" Review: I think there are way beter bokks then "Frindle". The book told too much about one subject. The setting was at a school and at a boy's house in modern times. The main character in this story was Nick Allen. An interesting plot line was when Nick got the school saying Frindle and not pen. Also when Nick had to put his name and the date on the back of an envolope from his teacher and he wouldn't get it unless the fighting was over and that doesn't happen untill ten years later. I think this book would be a wonderful book for any 5th or 6th grader that likes a good fantasay novel. I wouldn't ever read this book again. There are better books than this one.
Rating: Summary: Frindle Review: I thought this book was cool.I liked how the boy made up the word frindle.I was surprised that his teacher would send him a dictionary. If you are looking for a short book and very good this book should be your choice.
Rating: Summary: Every Teacher Needs a Copy!! Review: My 3rd grader read this book for a book report. Then she read it to me, because she enjoyed it so much. I then bought a copy for her teacher, and for a family member who also teaches. This is a wonderful book about the impact a teacher can have on a child's entire life by sparking their imagination. EVERY teacher needs a copy of this book in their library, and in their heart. If you teach (at any level) and get discouraged about making a difference in children's lives, read this one. You'll be inspired. Oh, and kids like it, too!
Rating: Summary: Imaganitive Review: Harry Potter is better. If kids will read this they will belive that if they realy make a new word they will get rich. And in real life no one will make such a fuss about it! Read for the fun of reading.
Rating: Summary: Frindle Review: Frindle is a book about a boy named Nick, his teacher, Mrs.Granger and his new word, Frindle.Mrs. Granger tells Nick to do a report on how words are made and put in the dictionary. So he does that report and he finds out that people just make them up and a lot of people have to use them. So he makes one up on his own. The new word, Frindle, is a big disaster and it causes a lot of problems. I like this book because Nick stands up for himself. It is a very good book!
Rating: Summary: A pen by any other name... Review: Clever fifth grader Nick Allen is always tangling with Mrs. Granger, the hardest teacher at Lincoln Elementary. One day, Nick asks her why words are in the dictionary. Mrs. Granger, seeing an opportunity for learning, asks Nick to do an oral report on this topic for the next class. While conducting his research Nick gets the idea to create a new word. Hence the word "frindle" is born. Over the course of the rest of the story we see what was initially a battle between student and teacher grow into a relationship of respect and understanding. A funny and light-hearted novel that I recommend to everyone.
Rating: Summary: Fabulous! Review: I read this book in 5th grade; that was two years ago. I had almost forgotten I owned it, and what it was about. But I was alphabetizing my books earlier this year, and accidentally flipped to the first page. I started reading it without even really noticing, and it wasn't until I was almost done that I realized I had been sitting there for over an hour reading. I love this book. It is very creative and wonderful. Nick, the main character, sort of remind me of myself. Making up an alternate name for something seems like the kind of thing I might do. Me and my friends were saying "frindle" instead of "pen" after we read this spectacular book in 5th grade. We could relate to all the characters. We didn't especially like the teacher, whose name I can't remember at the moment. And we all wanted to read it again and again after finishing it the first time, and I did just that. It was one of my favorite books in 5th grade, and it is still a masterpiece today. A must-read for fans of "The Chicken Doesn't Skate" and other humorous fiction books along those lines.
