Summary: A small book with a powerful punch!
Review: I only read this book because it was nominated for the Georgia Book Award this year, and I always try to read those books since I'm a teacher. Frindle starts out like just another book, but by the end, I was cheering--both for Nick and his teacher. This is another book I plan to use in the fall with my beginning ESOL middle school students. I expect we will have some wonderful discussions on "mean teachers". It will also be a great springboard into dictionary appreciation. I predict the students will want to create some new words themselves. What a fun book!

Summary: Frindle is a not too serious with an interesting subject.
Review: Our book group was divided on how we felt about the book we read. Frindle by Andrew Clements is a book that is good for grade levels 2nd-4th. The book is fiction and persuasive and the tone is not too serious. It takes place mostly in school. The book is about a boy who is sick of saying th word PEN, so Nick starts to tell everyone to to use the word FRINDLE, but most of the adults hate the word frindle, especially the teacher Mrs. Granger. One of us did not like the book because she thought it was too long and did not like Nick's imagination. Two of us liked the book because of the subject and the way that Nick makes up a new word.

Summary: You should read this book if you like FUNNY books!
Review: Frindle is about a 5th grade kid named Nick. He had a language teacher named Ms. Granger who loved the dictionary. She encouraged his interest in words. One day Nick thought of a new word for pen. He called it frindle and began to use the word frindle all the time. Everyone in his town started to use the word. When Nick was in college, his word frindle was in the dictionary. This book really draws you in! Reid Bouchard - 5th grade

Summary: A Very Cute Story!
Review: I thought FRINDLE was a very cute story. Nick Allen seemed to be a very nice boy who has just invented a new word called "frindle" meaning the same as the word "pen." This book encourages young readers to follow through with their good ideas, but younger children will probably find it a little more interesting! I am 10 years old and I liked the book, but found it boring at points! I think if you are 9 years old, you will like it the most!

Summary: New Word
Review: Hi, I am writing to you because I want to tell you how much my ECHO class and I enjoyed reading Frindle. I really liked Frindle because it is interesting and cool. I really enjoyed it and when I read Chapter Eleven I was really excited about what happened next. My ECHO and I are trying to spread the word Frindle in our school. If it works, you sure will be rich! Well, good luck reading all your letters. Goodbye.
