Review: I am a fifth grader, SR,from WMA.The book that
I read was Frindle. It's about Nick Allen,a boy who goes to Lincoln Elementary school. He uses his imagination all the time. Nick Allen has the worst teacher in fifth grade, and her name is Mrs.Granger. Mrs.Granger teachers LA, in her classroom she has lots of dictionaries. One day when Nick was going home with his friend he tripped and found an expensive pen. He named his pen Frindle. His friend was confused. The next day he told the 5th grade to ask the teacher for a Frindle. He started a big fuss about it.It was so big that he even got on the newspaper and was interviewed. Mrs.Granger got furious. She kept them in to write a report. Mrs.Granger said, "I will give you an envelope." He stopped and the teacher gave him the envelope. It said . . . I really liked this book. It was exciting, funny and impressive. It's the best book I ever read.

Review: I' m fifteen years old, and I loved this book. It was in my home because my mom teaches reading--I picked it up while I was sick in bed, and really enjoyed it.

All the other reviews tell you what this book is about, so I'll skip that bit: It has a fast pace and an interesting plot line, so all the younger kids will stay actively involved. I really shouldn't have cared about little Nick Allen since I'm a highschooler, but I couldn't resist this story. What can I say?

I should be educating myself about the classics...but, as soon as I finish my homework, I'll admit that I can't wait to see what else author Andrew Clements has created.

Is Nick Allen a trouble maker? Well, maybe. In 4th grade he made his classroom a tropical island, then a few days later, the arctic. But then on to fifth grade. Fifth grade meant business. It meant a lot of homework. It meant getting ready for middle school. When Nick found out he got the meanest teacher, he knew, she said, "Look in the dictionary." Whenever they had a question, she said, "Look in the dictionary." When Nick asked his best friend Chris for a frindle because he forgot one, he tossed him an ordinary pen. They planned on it. And when the word got so popular in the school Miss Granger, Nick's teacher, had to put a sign up on the bulletin board that said "Whoever uses the word frindle will have to stay after school and write frindle 100 times. Signed Miss Granger." About 200 kids stayed after school every single day. The parents didn't like it and they marched over to school and took their kids away. When Nick graduated from High School and went on to college, he was rich. People all over America were using the word and factories were making pens in gold letters that said frindle on it. There were T-shirts, baseball caps, everything you can imagine that said the word frindle on it with a picture of a pen. And so when Nick was rich, one day when he found a dictionary on his doorstep, and he opened the letter that said "look on page 48", so Nick flipped to 48 as fast as he could because it said "signed Miss Granger" on it. And then he found the word frindle. On Christmas Eve when Miss Granger was looking forward to her retirement, she found a single letter in her mailbox. There in sloppy fifth grader writing, she found a letter, "you are one of my favorite teachers. From one of your students." And Miss Granger knew exactly who it was from.
I highly recommend the book Frindle and it's published by Aladdin Fiction. It's a fiction book. I think it would be a good book for 8, 9 and maybe 10 year olds. If your child's a really good reader and you think he or she is ready for it in second grade well maybe you can give it a shot. Maybe even 7 years old you can try. I really recommend it and I think maybe even parents that are interested in books for their kids, chapter books, I think that they might be able to read it to see if they like it or not.

Summary: Frindle
Review: I am a fifth grade student at Waldron Mercy Academy (TAD).

Nick Allen is a trouble maker, always getting into mischief, until one day he finds a pen and calls it Frindle. One day he gets famous and things go all wrong.
In this book some of the settings are Nick's house and at Nick's school. One interesting thing that happened in this book that was very exciting to me was when Nick Allen was walking home from school one day with his best friend and found a ball point pen. After he picked it up he called it Frindle. Once Nick starts telling everyone now he calls a pen Frindle he gets on the news and bad things start to happen. I will let you read the book and find out what happens. In Nick's school some terrible things start to happen. I thought this book was one of the best books that I have ever read in my whole entire life, and if you read this book I think that you will think the same.

Summary: frindle
Review: I just read a great book called Frindle. Its about a kid an ordinary fifth grade kid who finds out that people can invent words at any age. So he gets a brilliant idea. He keeps calling a pen Frindle. Slowly it starts speading and people keep saying the word Frindle. His teacher and some other people like the word pen , so it's a battle to see who wins. Read the book to find out what happens! It shows how one little joke can turn into a big mess. However it has no action. And to me action is everything. That's why I rated it three stars. But if you like a nice school story read it! If you want a action packed shootem up book, don't read it.

Summary: The Word that Was More Than a Word
Review: If you have ever wondered how words get in the dictionary, then read this book and maby you will have a word of your own sometime in the dictionary. It is about a boy that really has never had homework, but when he gets into the fifith grade he gets more homework than ever.

His fifth grade teacher, Mrs. Granger tells him that every word is invented by someone so he gets an idea about inventing his own word. Mrs. granger doesn't like the idea about calling a pen a frindle. Everyone starts calling a pen a frindle and who ever says frindle gets detention. Soon the word gets so popular he gets on the news and television shows.

If you want to find out if frindle become a word than READ THE BOOK.

Summary: The book called Frindle
Review: In this book the main charecter is Nick Allen. He is in fifth grade in Mrs. Granger's class at Lincoln Elementary school. He made up a new word for pen: Frindle. I thought it was a good book and it also as a one boring part in the book but the rest is good. When Nick was on tv it was like when I went to New York. I was on the today show and they put the camera on me. I felt as if I was famous as Nick was. I didn't make up a word but I felt as if I was as famous as Nick Allen. You should read this book because it was funny and it had a little twist of adventure when he was trying to get his new word in the dictionary. He did.

Summary: FRINDLE
Review: This is the best book! When Nick Allen has to write a report on how words are made he gets an idea. To see if he can make a word! He gets every one to say frindle instead of pen. His L.A. teacher, Mrs. Granger, doesn't like it at all because she just about honors the dictionary.Suspenseful!
