Summary: His Best Work Ever!!!!
Review: I have to say that after For The Love Of Money, I wasn't happy. But somehow Mr. Tyree came back with a vengeance with this one.
This book takes us through the landmines that come with success of the young black man musician. Two buddies go to college with very different dreams and wind up being instrumental in each other's careers. Darin, the young football star to be is itching to show the coach just what he has. While John on the other hand enters a talent contest with an original work that takes him and his friend to the point of no return. John is getting all the exposure and love as he metamorphs into "The Loverboy." Unfortunately, Darrin incurs an injury that brings his "almost" career to a screeching halt. This propels him into a new career, artist management. Fortunately the two work well together and quickly John Loverboy Williams is propelled to stardom. While John's star is rising, his level of morality starts sinking. The once sweet and shy church boy turns into a sex-crazed drug addict. Darin's dilemma is that he feels responsible for his boy and tries his best to keep his antics to a minimum or at least out of the media. But when he finally realizes that there is no more he can do, he makes a decision that winds up being the one thing that causes everything to explode.

In a time of books written about girlfriends this is a book written about guy friends. Definitely a must have.

Summary: His best work to date
Review: I must say I didnt have high expectations for Omar Tyree's newest novel when I hear it was coming out. I own all of Mr. Tyree's previous novels, and personally, I was ... off that I spent so much time reading them, because I was not impressed in the least. Fly Girl and the sequel were HORRIBLE!!!, although most readers will say the books were off the hook. Anyway, I picked up the newest novel, because I will support Black writers no matter how boo boo their writing is. To make this short, Just Say No was OFF tha' CHAIN! His absolute best work to date!!! You gotta pick it up. I would defintely tell those who havent read his other works to read this last, because if you read this book first and then read his other stuff, you will be sorely disappointed by his other work because they do not measure up to this. Anyways, check it out!

Summary: A true story
Review: How many times have we seen this happen to someone famous?
I read this book and couldn't put it down.
U were right on point with lyrics and beat!
It's a story all too true we've seen and heard about all
famous stars who have gone to the top falling apart and this was just a taste of reality.

That famous people are humans too.

Summary: so much truth
Review: this book was by far the best book that i have read in a while.this book is just a small portion of what we read and hear about everyday on tv. the story is very easy to follow and to understand. i think it depicts the true and undefined meaning of a friendship, and how one's social status can effect so many others lives. read it you will not be dissappointed. yes i cold have skipped most of the drumming but what the heck....

Summary: Yes i too wasted 25 dollars
Review: Omar tyree what happen to you. i'm not just referring to " just say no" and lord help me " for the love of money" but to every book after " A do right man" apparentyly some were along the line you have lost your creativity. Your books have become unrealistic. which would be fine if you were writing science fiction. not black contemporary. and almost unbearable to read. not saying that in all black books you have to struggle but your characters lack so much substance. books are not name brand clothing and it just seems that your pushing out ruff drafts and slapping you name on the cover expecting people to buy them. you know that you don't measure up to other authors but your books sold because of the sincerity and the matching of the times as battle zone and capital city did of cource flyygirl. i think maybe you need a break and go live a little before you write another book.

Summary: What In The World!!!
Review: What in the world was Omar thinking? This was the worst book I read in a long time. It took me weeks to read, when it usually only take a me a couple days. I had no desire to pick it up and finish it. I was an Omar fan (key word was) until I read this. Did he have a deadline to meet or what? This story is hard to follow especally with the song lyrcs. Pleeeese Omar, I know you can do better than this. I think you have lost your touch. You might have a shot in the music buisness. Leave the novel writing to the pro's.

Summary: Definitely Better than the Last Book!
Review: I'm not a big Omar Tyree fan but I must say that I really enjoyed his latest novel. The story was intriguing and the characters were well developed. My biggest complaint with the story tho' was that at times it was redundant and overwritten. At one point, I actually sat the book aside and said enough of the light-skin vs. Dark-skin drama. Once I got pass that issue as well as the numerous song lyrics(which were very distracting) Just Say No was actually a good read. Glad to see that Mr. Tyree redeemed himself after last year's release of For The Love of Money. Looking for a good storyline and enjoy reading stories that deal with positive male images(at least one of the main characters was) as well as stories that enlighten about the music industry then check out Just Say No by Omar Tyree. Hopefully you won't be disappointed.

Summary: That Boy Can Write!!!
Review: Praises to Omar for showing us what characters with depth are all about. He fails to merely brush the surface of the two protaganists but delves deep into their psychi to reveal true emotions, actions and thoughts. I applaud you, for you almost lost me after "Flyy Girl Returns" so cudos to you Omar. If you haven't read it, you should, but be mindful that it seeps into you slowly, so take your time and don't give up on it and before you know it, Bam!! you can't put it down and you are hoping for more.

Summary: He Came back with some really good to think about
Review: This novel needs me not to tell you what happen because you read it or you want to so do it. It was great so much thought well simple thoughts on what is right and how a person can go wrong and sometime Why. Omar you are back in my good graces, your last book left much to be desired but this was really a good read. The test of a good book is if it makes you miss your train stop. It did several times. I will hopefully be waiting for your next book.

Summary: JUST SAY YES AND NO!
Review: I began reading Omar Tyree's JUST SAY NO! this September
when I was beginning school. It started out decent but one thing
I noticed was that if you read one Omar Tyree novel, you've read 'em all.It seems like my man Omar recycles elements from his
other novels.I did enjoy this book thought and reading this
novel let me see how the music business REALLY is.Judging how
good Do Right Man was,I was excpecting a better book, but overall
thought,JUST SAY YES,bookworms! PS to O.T.:No more retarted song lyrics OK!
