Summary: A very good story.
Review: Just a story, but a good story. Humanists hate it.....so what, enjoy the story. It can show the power of prayer....and yes, Virginia, there are angels and devils.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Interesting take on spiritual warfare
Review: Laugh all you want humanists. There are spiritual powers at work in this world. This is a nicely written story. Yes, just a story. But those in the know realize what is happening to our world. This fiction could very well corrolate to a real situation.

Summary: Teaches Fear, Self Righteousness; Poorly Written
Review: Initially I found this book far-fetched - not just in its treatment of Spirituality but in its knowledge of physical reality and human character. The characterization was poor and one dimensional. There is even a scene where a youth "hopped up on marijuana" robs a store to get money for more pot. I don't think Peretti has ever even met a stoner!

Beyond the quality of writing issues, this book reinforces the fundamentalist belief that anything that we don't know is to be feared or hated. It speaks with the arrogance of self-righteous insulated Christian (not Christ-like) culture.

Summary: Intelligent, and eye-opening. Exciting & insightful.
Review: An excellent insight into the mechanics of the spiritual realm. Perreti's work of fiction is soaked in real bible knowledge. Extremely helpful to the Christian trying to understand spiritual warfare. I found nowhere that this book deviated from Gods word on the subject and highly recommend it to anyone desiring to get a better grasp on understanding the real war in which we Christians are engaged.

Summary: Intolerant, bigoted, paranoid anti-cult garbage
Review: I read this book just to see what all the hype was about. I've seen the book everywhere. It started out Ok and pretty exciting with cool scenes of angels fighting demons. Where it got me mad was when the author trots out his real intolerant, bigoted, paranoid anti-cult agenda. I went ballistic. I really wanted to throw this book out the window. It panders to the narrow-minded fundamentalist, inciting them in their self-righteous (and un-Godly) hatred of others.

The author uses old fasioned hell-fire and brimstone tactics to scare modern Christians away from anything labeled "New-Age". This is the kind of metallity gave brought us witch burnings in Salem, where innocent people were executed at the whims of hysterical adolescent girls.

Discernment is a two edged sword. Use it with care. Just because something is labeled "Christian" doesn't make it good. (Matt. 7:21-23)

Summary: Bensational!
Review: Wow, what an excellent book. I was entralled by the indredible spiritual annointing on this excellently perceptive and inspiring book. It will improve everybodies spiritual maturity and steer all to the truth of the unfallible word of God.

Inspirational and heart-hitting.

Summary: Opened the eyes of my heart
Review: This book had such a powerful impact on my life! I am still constantly thinking about the issues discussed in " Piercing The Darkness." I became so aware of the spiritual battle that goes on that we as humans are completely unaware of. This novel has encouraged me to pray with much more faith and it has inspired me to get rid of the evil in the world. It opened the eyes of my heart and I thank God for the gift that He blessed Frank Peretti with. Not many authors, in my opinion, are capable of capturing a reader's attention to the spiritual realm. However Frank Peretti did. This book was also a gentle reminder of how much God loves us and how determined He is to bring us into his loving arms. That is very important for Christians and non-Christians to remember. It also helped me recognize the fact that God works in so many ways that we cannot see and that we can never lose hope. He will never let us down. I love this book and I will continue to talk to others about it.

Summary: You must read this book to know the truth.
Review: You must read this book to know the truth of the things that are being teached to the children in the school and to know what's behind the false moral concepts that are being implanted on the minds of everyone by the media, the corrupt scholar system and principally the "New Age Movement". If you feel that you don't now the proposit of your life or if you think that you are just a "cosmic accident", you can find the answer and the hope you are looking for in this book.

Summary: Ridiculous, false, narrow-minded, and dangerous!
Review: I found it highly ironic that the place where poor "lost soul" Sally finally communicated with God was in a park among the green leaves lying face-down on Mother Earth. How reassuring that even the most "Christian" of writers can't help reaching into the pagan roots of their subconsciousness for images of a higher power. Maybe there's hope for the world yet.

Summary: Glory be to God!
Review: This book was a thrilling dive into the lives of people not any different than ourselves. I enjoyed the detail and the victory power of the Lord that Peretti portrays in his book. The lord will prevail with the prayer of the saints so lets keep encouraging them to pray so that the darkness will not hurt the sons of God. The angels are delightful and I'm sure they are just like that in real life. Keep up the good writing !
