Rating: Summary: YAY! Review: THIS WAS SUCH A GOOD BOOK! I could read it like a 10o times! I always keep this book locked up with my other secret things. I loved the digrams. They were'nt to real, nor to stupid and cartoony. Has alot of cool stuff in it. My friends eyeballs almost popped out because she couldn't put it down!
Rating: Summary: Fantastic, most exciting book! Review: I find it a very interesting book. It's a great way to learn about becoming a young woman. It has pretty much everything you need to know about your body, and how it changes. It includes how to take care of yourself and growing up advice.I recommend this to all girls and young woman ages 8 and up.
Rating: Summary: all right for a younger girl Review: I first read this book when I was 10. I already knew about most of the thing in it. The things I was more curious to learn about, such as your period, weren't talked about much. I would recomened it to a 8-10 year old who wants an indroduction to how her body will change. It has little use to a girl who is 11 or older.
Rating: Summary: My daughter loved it Review: My daughter loved the book! The format and the information was great! Every was explained very simply with the appropriate amount of information. Every night we discussed what she had read that evening and it gave us time to discuss topics that we had not broached as of yet and it gave her insight into different things. It was good to set the stage for her to be able to come to me with any questions she might have and I know in the future she will be comfortable doing so. It is a good reference book and it was good the way it brought up some "untruths" some kids believe, or at least pass along, and I was able to nip those in the bud before she heard them from her friends. Now she will know when someone is telling her something that is not true. We enjoyed the book and I would highly recommend it for your daughters or nieces, granddaughters, etc.
Rating: Summary: A good book for young ladies ... Review: I'll admit to being a bit apprehensive of my daughter's impending move into puberty, most likely due to my status as her father! I didn't want her to be surprised at the changes her body was beginning to experience, but found she seemed to be slightly embarrassed when we discussed the subject. Since I wasn't quite convinced that my wife was all that comfortable discussing this with her, I purchased this book on recommendation from a good friend. I must say my daughter has found it to be an interesting read. I think it has helped relax any preceived tension (hers or mine?) that she may have had, as she keeps it by her bed to read and review several times during the week. The book doesn't just focus on puberty but also includes short, helpful suggestions and comments on hair care, nutrition, clothing, images of women found in media, etc.
Rating: Summary: Great Book Review: This is a great book, that deals with alot of things pre-teen girls and teen girls face! I really enjoyed it!
Rating: Summary: My daughter loved this book Review: I bought this and "The Period Book" when my daughter started menstruating at the ripe old age of 9. She just turned 9 a couple of months ago, and I hadn't planned on talking to her about her period until this summer. We read the books together and she much prefers this one! For some reason, she doesn't find the pictures embarrassing, she's told me. And I particularly like the way this book explains what's happening to her body like with underarm hair and shaving. I didn't have those kinds of explainations when I had the talk!
Rating: Summary: Be a healthy girl! Review: This book is very helpful for girls eight years old and older. I read it every night and it helps me make sure my body is healthy. I ask my Mom to explain some things - even if I feel a little embarrassed. I really like it.
Rating: Summary: A Great Guide to Growing Up Review: I love this book! This is a wonderful guide to pre-teens. It helps and prepares you for the big changes coming up. From periods to the care of your finger nails, this book covers everything! You'll find instructions on a balanced diet and on shaving. I would surely reccomend this book!
