Rating: Summary: Oink? Review: Oh my, the cow and sheep seem to have it right...but what about the pigs? This divinely witty animal-sounds book had my own babies in stitches when they were almost too young to look at the pictures. The rhythmic cadence of the words (always a grabber for the very young), the simple wording, the silliness that can be enhanced by mom or dad's tone of voice when reading aloud, and most of all, the use of the word "you," bringing the child into the story, combine to make a treasure of a book. Oh...did I mention Sandra Boynton's incredibly endearing pictures of animals? Rendered in bright, beautiful colors on sturdy, indestructible pages, they are worth the price of the book. I'll bet you anything you sneak one more look long after night-night.
Rating: Summary: It is a nice read Review: I just bought this book few days ago and my daughter loves it. She enjoy reading it with my husband and I. This is not the best one we have ever read, but it certainly is very nice. A must buy!
Rating: Summary: a moms thoughts Review: This book has been around for years. My 13 year old loved it as a 2 year old and when his baby brother was born 2 months ago it was an immediate must have for him. The pictures are great. I recommend it highly.
Rating: Summary: Most often read book in our house Review: This is my absolute favorite book for very young children. We're currently buying a couple of new copies. Our original copy is battered and torn and taped back together from my oldest child (now five). Or, I should say, it WAS. It's currently in pieces since our toddler got his pudgy little hands on it. I never get tired of reading this book, which is fortunate since my children never get tired of hearing it. Even my five year old still loves to hear this book. In fact, he has it memorized now, so he "reads" it to his little brother. We love all the Sandra Boynton books, but this is our all time favorite.
Rating: Summary: Terrific Toddler Book!! Review: I am a day care teacher with a class of 7 one-year-olds and this is the most popular book in our class room collection. It's fun and easy for the kids to follow along. I wouldn't be without it!!!
Rating: Summary: Sounds good Review: I recently borrowed 'Moo, Baa, LA, LA' from our local library, and I wish my daughter had a copy of her own. I thoroughly enjoy reading Ms. Boynton's books. The pictures and easy text keep a little one's attention. With "Moo, Baa, LA, LA, LA" the fun just continues. These are wonderful books for wee ones (daughter is 1 year) and Mom and Dad have fun reading them.
Rating: Summary: Love this book! Review: My daughter knew this book by heart by the time she was 15 months old because we had to read it many times a day! It is a really great book. We have all of Boynton's book in our house!
Rating: Summary: A great way to learn animal noises! Review: My son loves Sandra Boynton books. "Doggies" is his ultimate favorite! He enjoys this one because we can make the noises. He is 16 months and has learned what sound a "cow" makes... I'm sure he'll learn the others soon enough. When reading this book to your little one try to make the sounds as dramatic as possible, they will LOVE it!
Rating: Summary: favorite baby book Review: This was one of our very favorite books when my first child was a toddler. In fact, it's the first book she ever memorized. I remember standing in line at the grocery and distracting her by whispering the words of this book back and forth between us. Now that she's older, this is an easy book for her to learn to read and she reads it to her baby sister. This would be a great book to slip into a congratulatory bouquet or basket to give to new parents!
Rating: Summary: What a great book Review: My 18 month old has been in love with this book since she was 6 weeks old. Now she knows all the animals and the sounds they make. I recommend this book to anyone.
