Rating: Summary: A great way to learn animal sounds Review: My 15-month old daughter knows all her animal sounds, thanks to this book. I first saw it at her daycare, and bought it for her when she was 7-months old. This book was quite the favorite, and before she was a year old, she was making the appropriate sounds, shaking her head, "No, no..." at the, "Three singing pigs go la-la-la," and whispering at the last page, "It's quiet now, what do *you* say?"
Rating: Summary: My 2 year old nephew loves this book! Review: I've read it so often that I know it by heart and I still like it. He also likes to have his mother read along with us (she knows it by heart too). He loves the different animal sounds (I do a lousy duck) and likes to imitate them along with me!
Rating: Summary: A book to make your baby giggle. Review: The cleverly rhyming storyline embellished with animal noises makes my son giggle every time. For those of you who have a hard time getting your little one to attend to a book, this book is perfect for you. The illustrations are simple and don't overstimulate a child, but are colorful enough to draw a child's attention. The story lines are enough to amuse us while we read the story to him. As all of her books, this one is a keeper.
Rating: Summary: Ideal for the young and young at heart Review: This book was my daugther's favorite. The lyrical beat, and simple and familiar sounds makes it a delight to read to the audience under 2.
Rating: Summary: A must-have for baby's first book Review: My first son wanted this read over and over four years ago. Now, my two year old cannot get enough of it! After all those readings, it STILL gives me a little chuckle. I believe the sing-song-y nature of the prose is what appeals. With the last line, "it's quiet now, what do YOU say?" I point to my son's chest. After only a reading or two, each of my sons began to point at themselves when coming to that page. It was also an excellent way to introduce animal sounds.
Rating: Summary: My son makes me read this book to him over and over! Review: Sandra Boynton inspires parents to read with sound effects and sing phrases which inspires children to love her books!
Rating: Summary: This is a wonderful way to introduce animal sounds! Review: This is one of the first books my daughter began "requesting" that I read again and again. "Baa" was her first animal sound and the other sounds in this book soon followed. She now helps me read the book by adding the animal sounds as I read. I don't tire of the book either; a big plus!
Rating: Summary: Easy to Memorize so it goes anywhere! Review: This should be the first book any child owns. I thank the Lord everyday that my sister gave it to us. It is easy to memorize so when our Nettie is bored, in the car or in the bath, Mommy and Daddy just have to start with, "The cow says Mooooo....". The fussing stops. We are playing Santa tonight to get her more of the Boynton books. They are her favorites!!
Rating: Summary: Excellent learning tool for kids who love animals. Review: This is an excellent tool for kids who love animals. My 22 month old knows all of his animal sounds from reading this book and he reads it to us and to his babysitter. The pictures are colorful and vivid and I would say we see and hear this book at least twenty times a day.
Rating: Summary: The first book my daughter reaches for! Review: I have been reading to my 13 month old daughter since she was born but she never seemed to take an interest in any story in particular. But all of a sudden this is the only book she wants to read. She repeats the "Lalala" and the "NoNoNo" and shakes her head back and forth every time. Its enjoyable for me also, although I have trouble getting it out of my head!
