Summary: The Best Book of the Year!!
Review: The book, Flipped, is a great book that takes you into the minds of a teenage boy and girl who have totally different views on each other and also life in particular. Julianna, the girl, fell for Bryce the first day she met him, probably because of his deep blue eyes. The first day Bryce met Julianna, he ran away and has been avoiding her ever since second grade. But, when Bryce and Julianna enter junior high, their views completely flip. Julianna suddenly has no feelings whatsoever for Bryce Loski, but Bryce just cannot stop staring at Julianna for some reason.....

This book was a page turner and definetly another great book by Wendeline Van Draanen! Her leap from mysterys to teen fiction is great. I am wanting more!

Summary: A Great Book
Review: I read it in around a week, it was quite good, and it actually had me laughing quite hard in the dead silence of my ever so boring reading class with a horrible teacher. I got weird looks from Mrs. Benjiman, but it was jsut so good. It's written cool, a chapter form the boy's point of view, a chapter from the girl's point of view. It;'s really good and you shoudl read it.

Summary: A very entertaining book!
Review: Ever since the first time Juli Baker looked into Bryce Loski's bright blue eyes for the first time when he moved in next door when they were both seven years old, she knew that one day they would be together, and for six years, every time she looked at Bryce, she thought "My Bryce. Still walking around with my first kiss." Unfortunately, Bryce did not feel the same way about Juli. Every time he saw her, he wanted to run. That is until 8th grade, which is when they flipped. Juli suddenly had no feelings left for Bryce. However, for the first time, Bryce took a good look at Juli and from then on, could not quit looking at her. After that, the story takes many twists and turns, until a you are left with a cliffhanger.
When I bought "Flipped" I didn't know what to expect because all of Wendelin Van Draanen's other novels have been mysteries, and I didn't know how her first attempt at another genre would turn out. However, I found "Flipped" to be funny, original and entertaining. I hope Ms. Van Draanen will write a sequal.

Summary: A peek inside...
Review: Have you ever wondered what the other person is thinking when you find yourself in a strange situation? Wendelin Van Draanen (writer of the Sammy Keyes series) has captured the thoughts of two neighbors--Bryce and Juli--as they face different aspects of life. This light, sometimes humorous novel has alternating chapters for the main characters on a variety of subjects, from Bryce moving in across the street to Juli's tree to school assignments. Both Bryce and Juli reach milestones of change in their lives, but I would not consider this a coming-of-age story, rather it is a gradual maturity as two kids grow into adolesence. Van Draanen only strays from her format (Bryce's point of view and then Juli's point of view) a little, keeping the reader from confusion. Anyone wondering about a boy's inner thoughts or girl's ponderings should read this book to get a glimpse inside!

Summary: Fabulous!
Review: Wow! This was a wonderful book. It's about a girl named Julie and a boy named Bryce. The book switches from Julie's point of view to Bryce's so it varies and shows each situation from both points of view, which makes it so you can understand both characters.I would recommend this book very much!

Review: ... "Love may make life confusing but without love would you want to live? "
Have you ever had an obsessive crush on someone who doesn't like you back? Juli Baker did! Juli Baker had a crush on Bryce. They had lots of classes together, but the best part is they lived just across the street! When Bryce's family first moved in Juli saw it was love at first sight! Have you ever experienced love at first sight? Do you believe in it?
The genre of this book was realistic- fiction because lots of the events in the plot and conflict absolutely could take place in real life. But it is not based off of a true story. Lots of people I know have liked this book. I defiantly recommend it.
This book was excellent because it showed the conflict from both Julis side of view and Bryce's, so it would be good for boys and girls. In addition to that this book was very humorous and enjoyable to read. For example there is a point in the book when Bryce and his friend are looking through Juli's fence to try to see if any of the chickens she raised were roosters. They were doing this because Bryce's dad said the previous night at dinner that Bryce is a wuss and needed to be more brave when it came to Juli. So he gave him the mission of finding out how many of her chickens were roosters. He was supposed to ask her that day at school. You'll have to read the book to find out what happens and if any of her chickens were roosters. Boys and girls would like this book. I think this is more of a middle school book because it deals with love and more teenage topics like that. The type of people who would like this book are people who enjoy reading because this is defiantly one of the funniest books I have read as well as one of the best books I have read. Lots of teenagers can relate to this book. This was one of those books you didn't want to put down! It was not hard to say focused on the book. This style of writing was a little more difficult than other books I have read, only because it goes from Bryce telling what happened to Juli's side of the story. It made it a little bit harder, but it also made it very fun to read!

Summary: Good for your kids
Review: I went into this book thinking it was going to be the typical highschool romance story. A friend of mine had reccommended this when I had asked her for some book suggestions. The way she put it, it sounded very interesting.

This book is about Bryce and Juli. They have been neighbors for years and Juli has a huge crush on Bryce and his brilliant blue eyes. Bryce thinks Juli is downright annoying. Throughout the story you you will read a chapter of Bryce's POV and then Juli's POV on the same situation.

I guess I should have read a few paragraphs before purchasing this book. Although the lesson was important, this is not a book for somebody that is in 10, 11, 12 grade. This book is about middle-schoolers and it is for middle-schoolers. I gave it three stars because it was cute and made me chuckle a few times and is good for a much younger crowd than myself. I just happened to not enjoy it as much considering that I'm looking for something more adult. Also, the ending left you at kind of a cliff hanger and that really kind of made me upset.

Nonetheless, this is a great book for your kids an junior high student but don't buy it for a highschooler.

Summary: Book Review - Flipped by Wendelin Van Draanen
Review: "All I ever wanted was Julia Baker to leave me alone; to back off. You know give some space."

Flipped is a realistic fiction book, it's about a girl named Julia that started liking a boy named Bryce when they were seven years old. She would always be chasing him around trying to get a kiss from him. Julia also thought he had the most amazing blue eyes. But Bryce on the other hand never liked Julia. He thought she was the weirdest person there could be . she had chickens in the back yard; she would bring eggs to his house every morning. But seven years later everything changes little by little.

I recommend this book because it's funny how Julia and Bryce tell the same story differently. For example Julia said the first time they met she could tell that they were going to kiss except that Bryce's mom interrupted, while Bryce said that his dad and him thought she was weird; hyper; annoying and nosey. I think people ages 11-18 would enjoy this book. Girls would like this book more then boys would. This book was a page turner because it mad you want to know what would happen next. I enjoyed the writing style of the book because one chapter is Bryce telling the story then the other chapter is Julia telling the same story but different.

Summary: Changes
Review: Have you ever liked someone so much you'd do just about anything to please him? Then Flipped, by Wendelin Van Draanen is the book for you. Flipped is about a girl who is so in love with the new kid in town and would do anything for him to notice her. She likes him for years; will he ever like her back? Flipped is a good book because the title has many different meanings, you can easily relate to the topic, and it sends a good message.

Flipped, you may look at the title and think its named that because the book flips from the boys perspective to the girls perspective but as you read further you will find out this title has many meanings. One example would be the chick on the cover of the book has an important meaning to the title, and that's just one of the many reasons it has.

In this book, you can easily relate to the topics. It goes from being a seven year old and in love, to being a fourteen year old going into high school and being in love. There are many conflicts that you can easily understand. When you are a fourteen year old and in love you learn heart ache, the feeling of talking to that special someone and how nervous you get when your around them. This book will let you see what it is like to love someone that long and all conflicts and disappointments it can bring.

The message sent through the story is another good aspect of the book. "Don't judge others," those three simple words would change so many things for teenagers being in school. Everyone knows how fast you'll be judged for one tiny mistake you make. When you meet someone they can act totally different to when you get to know them. For example in the book Bryce automatically judges Julianna the minute he meets her before he even gets to know her. Flipped sends a good message through the story for teenagers because it goes on a lot in high school.

Flipped was a good book because of the title having more then one meaning, you can relate to all the things that go on, and it sends an important message to the reader. There weren't many parts of the book that needed changing except the ending wasn't all that good, it should have went on to tell a little more but it was alright. I recommend this book to teenagers who have liked someone so much through many years of their lives, or do not want to be judged by other people before anyone gets to know them.
