Summary: Flipped Is Hilarious and Clever
Review: Flipped is unique because it tells the story from 2 points of view. Flipped tells the story of two high school kids, Bryce and Julianna. She's liked him since she was seven and he's been annoyed by her. But then they flip, and he likes her and she hates him. So it takes them through an obstacle course and you'll be surprised at how it ends. Telling the story of first love, you'll find humorous characters, and humurous situations, and this book will just, well, make you feel.... Flipped.

Summary: I enjoyed it as much as my daughter did!
Review: My 12 year old daughter and I belong to a Mother/Daughter book club. It was our turn to select a book, and after reading the reviews on Amazon, we selected Flipped. My daughter read it first and couldn't wait to tell me all about it. I enjoyed it so much, that I read it cover to cover in one day! It has sometimes been hard to find books that both moms and girls will like, and this one was perfect! We all highly reccommend it!!

Summary: This is REALLY embarrassing, but this book ROCKED!!
Review: The best thing about this book is that it appeals to both boys and girls. I mean, I always thought that the last book I would read would be a love story. But the plot and humor in this book are fantastic.
Juli Baker has been dreaming about Bryce Loski for over 5 years. His sparkling blue eyes, the scent of watermelon in his hair. But for Bryce it is WAY different (Flipped). He has tried his hardest to keep away from Juli, who has tried to kiss him and in all other ways mortify him. But soon Juli realizes that Bryce may be much more than blue eyes and watermelon...........

Summary: I loved this book
Review: This was such a great book, I read it in less than two days I just couldn't put it down. I loved how they would have everything from Bryce's perspective and then Juli's. There were some really great characters in the book and the story just pulls you in. This is a great book!

Summary: quality literature
Review: i loved the way that this book was written from both a girl's and a boy's perspective. each chapter goes back and forth between Bryce and Juli's opinions on the same situation. this book is full of minor characters that play a major role in influencing how Bryce and Juli end up seeing each other and the rest of their world.
they have known each other for most of their young lives; ever since Bryce moved in across the street from Juli six years ago. immediately, she is drawn to his bright blue eyes and good looks while he desperately tries to avoid her seemingly crazy antics. Bryce and Juli are now in eighth grade and are struggling to figure out not only who they are but who they want to be. Bryce has never actually voiced his feelings of annoyance to Juli until now and when he does, she is so hurt that she is unsure what to do. that is until Bryce's grandpa comes to her rescue and helps her to understand that there is more to people than just the way they look on the outside. things go from bad to worse for Bryce. he cannot believe that his own grandfather has "turned" on him by befriending Juli, then his mom invites her and her entire strange family over for dinner, his perfect family seems to be falling apart and worst of all...he has totally fallen for Juli! after her favorite tree is cut down, a family secret is revealed and Bryce is throwing away her eggs, Juli is starting to think that maybe Bryce isn't the amazing and wonderful guy she ahd always though him to be.
even though this book does not present a life-or-death-situation, it does present a true reflection of how boys and girls interact in elementary and middle school. it is something that seems like life-or-death at the time for the kids going through it. flipped takes a look at how family, friends and school shape us all to be the peopole that we are supposed to be...whether we want them to or not. i would definitly recommend this book to middle school girls and maybe even middle school boys. the different perspectives may help them to understand each other a little bit better.

Summary: Author! Author! A sequel, please?
Review: After reading "Flipped," I found myself wondering what would happen next. This book could certainly stand as prologue for interesting changes ahead. Ms. Van Draanen has done such a great job of portraying multi-layered characters that I sincerely cared about. The author's device of alternating between the male and female points of view in regard to the same events is both entertaining and instructive.

At the end of the book, we are left with Juli and Bryce in eighth grade, just on the brink of young adulthood. Although they have undergone significant changes, they are really at a turning point, both personally and on the family level. I do hope the author is planning to give us "the rest of the story." Please?

Summary: Flipped is Simply Wonderful
Review: This book is wonderful:purely and sinmply wonderful. It is not a corny romance as some may think from the back cover, but the story of finding one's self and looking deeper into people that you thought you knew.
Julianna Baker is thrilled to know that Bryce Loski will be moving in across the street. A new playmate! At eight, loner Juli cannot wait to make friends. However, when she meets Bryce and his brilliant blue eyes, she completely falls head over heels. Unfortunately, Bryce has never returned her feelings and tends to ignore her completely. He finds her hobbies of raising chickens and climbing sycamores too wierd instead of too cool. He ignores and she does anything but until the year of 8th grade when everything flips - Bryce starts to see Juli's life and person as more than it seems while Juli starts to think that Bryce and his baby blues are less than they appear to be.
A great book with an ending that lets you think for yourself and wonder about forgiveness, Flipped by Wendelin Van Drannen will keep you flipping the pages and filled with wonderment that anyone could capture the immotions of the two protagonists. 5 stars. A knock out.

Summary: A great story, but sprinkled with vulgarities
Review: Juli and Bryce, neighbors since the second grade, become entangled in a a true-to-life struggle of changing emotions that are all too familiar to adolescents. In a seesaw switch of chapters, each told by one of the characters, we are privy to two distinct points of view. Unique family styles and interactions are contrasted. Flipped should be one of the best new novels for our middle schoolers, but with the many instances of vulgar language and interjections using the name of God, I find it unacceptable as a model for our children who suffer negative consequences for using the same language. We must demand more for our children if we are going to expect more from them. In searching for a similiar book with clean language, you would do well ordering All the Way Home by Patricia Giff.

Summary: a grEAt BoOK!
Review: This is a great book, i recently read it in school. I thought it was really good, it is a book about growing up.
Bryce and Juli are next door neighbors, Juli has been in love with Bryce since he moved in, Bryce has ran from Juli since then.
In 7th grade Juli starts to love this ugly old Sycamore Tree. Then the city wants to cut it down, what will Juli do? THen Juli starts giving Bryce eggs, and BRyce throws them away every single week. Then Bryce's grandfather, Chet comes to live with them, and Juli finds out her uncle David is in a mental hospital. Then Juli starts to stop liking BRyce, just when he is starting to like her. What will happen? Read the book to find out?

Summary: Flip flop
Review: FLIPPED is a story about two eigth graders who have known eachother for years, and yet barely know eachother at all. All Juli knows is that something about Bryce, most probably his deep blue eyes, got her hooked all those years ago when she first saw him and his dad moving boxes out of the moving van. All Bryce knows is that Juli is what he would call a royal pain, and more than a bit eccentric.

However, once eight grade starts everything begins to flip, hence the title. Van Draanens writing style is funny, and the feelings her characters have to deal with are ones that most any young adult should be able to relate too, most especially that of wanting someone who barely acknowledges your existance.

The intriguing hook of this book, however, is that each chapter alternates between the voice of Juli and the voice of Bryce, adding a lot more depth to the story as a whole. Another thing that will make readers appreciate this book is that Van Draanen allows herself to explore other aspects of the lives of her characters, and doesn't focus entirely on the feelings Juli and Bryce have for eachother.

Recommmended to readers ages 12+, boys and girls. Enjoy!
