Rating: Summary: A must read!!!!!!!! Review: I'm always at my school library and I was surprise to find this book, Flipped. I've never seen it before but it has been there for at least two years. Anyway, Flipped is about two teenagers in 8th grade. One of them, the girl, Juli, has been in love with the boy since they were seven and he just moved into the house across the street. Bryce, the boy, has tried to avoid Juli ever since the unlucky day he moved in. But as they grow up and learn some facts about the other that changes their opinion about the other. Juli knows that Bryce isn't the guy she thought he was, and Bryce begining to believe that Juli is more than a pest. The story is written back and forth between the two in first person. Wendelin Van Draanen takes you into both of their minds as they discover more about themselves and the people around them. The story starts out with Juli and Bryce meeting and ending with Juli and Bryce working out what they learn. Well, I hope this helps someone out there to read this great book. I've read this book straight through, well as straight through as I can get when I'm at school. In fact, I got check out this book today, never really putting it down, and just finished reading it minutes ago.
Rating: Summary: Wendelin Van Draanen Does It Again! Review: Wendelin Van Draanen has written many books, including The Sammy Keyes series. Now for something completely different, Flipped is the best book she's written. The humerous story of two kids who grew up together, and one who can't live down the fact that Juli Baker is absolutly in love with him. This is an excellent book with humor, sadness, and a little romance. I think that Wendelin Van Draanen has come up with, yet again a excellent book for millions.
Rating: Summary: Worthwhile Read Review: I love the author's books and i was so happy when i finally got a copy of Flipped. I couldn't put it down. Like her other stories, it's funny and seems like it was written by kids. It also goes deeper into more serious issues than just crushes and has a super message. I loved both Bryce and Juli. This book is fun to read and will really make you think awhile after you've read it. By all means, get a copy.
Rating: Summary: Charming and wonderful Review: "Some of us get dipped in flat, some in satin, some in gloss . . ." Bryce Loski's grandfather tells him. "But every once in a while you find someone who's iridescent, and when you do, nothing will ever compare." From the moment the Loski family moves into town, Juli Baker finds herself drawn to their young son, Bryce. Even before his family finishes unloading the moving van, Bryce finds himself running away from her, and so their relationship remains for the next six years. All Bryce sees is the weird girl from across the street that lives in a messy house and climbs way too high up the ancient sycamore tree at the school bus stop. For her part, Juli can't get past Bryce's dreamy blue eyes and the scent of watermelon wafting from his hair. And then comes the day that everything begins to change. Told by both Bryce and Juli in alternating first-person chapters, this book is more than a simple romance. It isn't about two people overcoming obstacles in the path to true love. Instead, it details the creation of those obstacles, deftly illustrating how the reality of human perceptions and emotions differs from the ideal notion of love at first sight. In Bryce and Juli, Ms. Van Draanen has created a pair of living, breathing, three-dimensional characters, and the more we learn about the two of them, the less inevitable a happy ending seems to be. By contrasting the points of view, this "he-said/she-said" story shows the difference between our thoughts and our actions. What we think about what we say and do doesn't matter; it's what people see us saying and doing that counts. However, while Bryce learns that the best of intentions can't necessarily excuse unkind actions, both he and Juli come to realize that they both have to look beneath the surface to see the truth about each other. Perhaps the poor condition of the Baker house-and what it says about their family-doesn't tell the simple story Bryce assumes it does, and perhaps Bryce's beautiful blue eyes aren't a strong enough reason for Juli to pursue him. This story's initial light, breezy, funny style drew me in immediately. The more I read, the more caught up I became in the emotion of the characters, and the more I began to care about both of them. Fortunately, Ms. Van Draanen remained true to the complexity of her creations, providing an ending that perfectly satisfied, without being simple or pat. With all due respect to her Sammy Keyes books, I certainly hope this isn't the last time we see this sort of work from her.
Rating: Summary: A Book wich Keeps you turning pages and smiling! Review: Juli Baker has been madly in love with Bryce ever since she first saw him, and Bryce had feared her since he first saw HER. But in eigth grade things begin to happen....Juli reaises that someone you doesn't want to save her sycamore and throws out her chicken's eggs may not be so great, and Bryce starts seeing Juli in a whole new way (with some help from his grandfather...). This book, which is told from both views, will keep your opinion flipping back and forth, unsure of who to agree with.

Not only does it teach a lesson, it keeps your attention so that when you put it down for even a minute, you will be thinking about what has happened and what will happen next! Julianna is head over heels about Bryce, but when she comes down she might just get egged! Bryce tied to out run Juli ever since he moved in, but maybe if he stands still to look at a picture, he can paint his own! Ever since they were seven it has been the same, he is her dream boy, she is his nightmare! Finally they look at each other for what they really are. Will anything turn out the way it should? Rating: Summary: What a great book! Review: Bryce thinks that Juli Baker is crazy. Not only does she follow him around everywhere, but she raises chickens, climbs trees, and is loud and annoying. He doesn't know how to shake her and to make her lose interest in him! Juli thinks that Bryce Loski is perfect. He has dreamy blue eyes and he lives next door - what else could a girl want? But when Juli discovers what kind of person Bryce really is, she doesn't know what to do. She likes him, doesn't she? Bryce makes a terrible mistake, and Juli hates him for it. But when she's gone, he thinks of all the cool things she's done. Bryce discovers what kind of person Juli really is, and he really likes her. How did things flip? This is a great book, one of the best that I've read in a long time. You get to be a part of Juli's and Bryce's lives, seeing how they feel about each other, and how they deal with their families. Do you think Juli and Bryce get together? Read it and find out!
