Rating: Summary: Flipped Review: Flipped by Wendelin Van Draanen is a great book. This story is not from only one person's point of view. Draanen writes a chapter from one character's point of view and then he writes the same chapter from another character's point. This way you get what they are both thinking. Julianna and Bryce are the two main characters. When she saw him she flipped. Julianna was the girl next door. New neighbors were moving in and she was really excited to meet them. This is how it was the first day she met Bryce Loski. All she wanted to do was be with him. They were both in the 2nd grade. Bryce didn't want to be around her, but it looked like he would for a very long time. Julianna is an adventurous and smart girl. She is one of those people that never run out of energy. Julianna would sit and look out the window until Bryce came out. Bryce was a shy boy and he didn't want to play with a girl. He stayed inside all to avoid Julianna. Julianna rode the bus with Bryce, she went to school with Bryce, and she was even in his class. Julianna would not leave him alone. Bryce was in the 8th grade and Julianna still liked him. At the end of eighth grade, Bryce made fun of Julianna's uncle. Julianna didn't like Bryce anymore. Bryce began to feel different about Julianna. He was scared and he didn't want to admit that he liked Julianna. His feelings had totally flipped from the first time he met her.
Rating: Summary: Multi-layered and touching Review: This book far surpasses most young adult books that encompass a romantic theme: the importance of looks/attraction is acknowledged but also put into perspective and the boy and the girl are both multidimensional, nuanced characters whose mistakes and triumphs keep you rooting for them. It was a very enjoyable read; light enough to be fun, but also thought-provoking.
Rating: Summary: Mikaea's perspective on Flipped Review: Wendelin Van Draanen wrote an awesom teen love story called flipped, that is intreaging to young teenage girl. This book is a cute love story about a girl, Juli who lives accros the street from a boy Bryce.Juli falles in love with her neighbor and does everything possible to get him to notice her. this book will hook it's reader because it has a great story plot and it is funny and sad at the same time. when i read this book I though it was one of the best books I have read in a really long time. when i sat down toread I would have to make sure that I had enough time to read the entire chapter. I was so hooked that I was unable to put the book down in the middle of the chapter. I would rate this book about a 4 or 5 because in a few chapters i was a little confused but all in all it all made sense. I would highly recommend this book to others, mainly girls but also to boys who enjoy reading love stories becauseI am sure that you would enjoy reading this book.
Rating: Summary: Flipped, by deana rabonza Review: Flipped by Wendelin Van Draanen was the best love, halerious book I have ever read in my life. I thought it was soo funnie because when I was at my friends house we both laughed so hard. It all started in the summer of 2nd grade. Brices house was verry clean on the inside and out! well, julieannas house wasnt quite as nice as brices yard r on the inside of the house. It was trashey, had toys all over the front yard. Chicken poo and chickens running all over the place, weeds long and not touched for centuries, and I would say the messiest house. It all started in the summer of 2nd grade when brice moved in accross the street from julieana (the not so clean freak). julieana started to like brice because of his beautieful, bright, brillant eyes. Then all the sudden he tpped likeing him in the 8th grade because he became a jerk and he startes liking her alot instead. This book was a fantastic, funnie, sad, loving and caring. I would reccomend this easey to read book to any girl that loves to read a love/romance story from a girls point of view and also a boys point of view! I would also reccomend athis story to boys that love to read a love /romance story. I would think that i would rate this book a 5/5 because it was every thing that i hoped it would be. I also thought thwey explained the charecters verry well. If you want to learn more about this book you have to read it!!!
Rating: Summary: FLIPPED Review: Seeing love from both perspectives is the selling point of FLIPPED. Wendlin Van Draanen has a very creative way of describing the view points of childhood through the eyes of a young boy and girl. This book shows the hardships of relationships and growing up. In my opinion, this is a great book. I would deffinately recommend FLIPPED to my friends and family. If I were to rate this book out of 10, I would give it an 8. FLIPPED has many characters throughout the book. The two main characters are Bryce and Julianna. Some other characters include both Bryce's and Julianna's parents, Chet, David, Lynetta, Matt, Mike, and Garret. All of which besides Garret are family to either one of the main characters. Garret is Bryce's bestfriend. Both Bryce and Julianna are in eigth grade for the majority of the book. An intruging part of this book is that they live right across the street from each other. The type of city they live in is a suburban america. Like I said, FLIPPED is a great book and I would recomend anyone to read it.
Rating: Summary: Entertaining Review: Flipped was a pretty good book. While it is not a book that requires a lot of thought, it was a fun book to read. The best part of this book was how it was written in alternating perspectives. If it was not written this way, I probably would not have enjoyed it. I recommend this book to anyone younger than 14, becuase it was just really really easy to read, and the dialouge was pretty good, but this isn't how real teenagers talk and act. So, all in all, I recommend this book to someone who is looking for an entertaining book, but not looking for a difficult book filled with insight and thought.
Rating: Summary: The Best I've Read In A Long Time!!!! Review: "Flipped" is a great book. It shows exactly what teenage lust is like. I think it's great how the book show what it's like for both sides of perspective. It's cool to see how a guy thinks. It really is flipped. Juli Baker's been obsessed with Bryce forever. But now once she is tired of waiting because he is still walking around with her first kiss, she finally gives up in the 8th grade. Bryce on the other hand is doing all he can to aviod her. Until the 8th grade of course. He finally decides it's time to look at her from a different light. And once he does he can't take her eyes of her. Theis story is a funny, whose ever been confused.
Rating: Summary: A GREAT BOOK!!!!!!!!!!! Review: This book is one of my favorite books of all time. It is one of the cutest stories I have ever read. It tells the story from two viewpoints (Julianna and Bryce). At first, when I picked up this book off the bookshelf in the bookstore, I thought it might be pretty boring, but decided to give it a chance anyway. I'm glad I did because it turned out to be one of the best stories I have ever read.
