Summary: Great book!
Review: Flipped is about a girl named julianna baker, and a boy, Bryce Loski. At age 7 and a half, Bryce hates here, and Juli has a passion for Bryce. As they go through 7th and 8th grade, their feelings start to flip. Byrce starts to like Juli, and Juli's crush begins to fade away because Bryce made fun of Juli's retarted uncle. A very in intersting book that i highly reccomend to everyone. The chapters flip back and forth between Juli and Bryce's point of view.

But the ending wasn't that good.

Summary: Flippen excellent
Review: The novel Flipped by Wendelin Van Draanen is absolutely marvelous. The author's daring style worked fantastically. I really enjoyed the he-said, she-said flair.
When I thought of a book being written in two point of views I thought it would be boring and repetitive. This book is exactly opposite.
When Julianna first saw Bryce Loski's brilliant blue eyes she flipped. When Bryce saw Julianna Baker he hid. This book shows the true meaning of the saying "don't judge a book by its covers". Beneath both protagonists are unique souls, each with their own meaning.
Bryce finally changes near the end of the book which ends Flipped like a fairy tale and leaves readers spellbound. Flipped is a definite must-read novel. This book turned out to be filled with even more delight than I expected. Flipped left me wanting more.

Summary: Best book that fits girls and boys
Review: This book, Flipped, is nothing like the other books I have read. Unlike the other books, this one has a funny cover. I thought this entire book talk about a chick that can walk upset down! It turned out to be a book that talks about a girl who raised chicks. In comparison to the other books, their covers show exactly what the book was about. For example, a book about a girl's life would have a picture of that girl on its cover. Another comparison was that the chapters in the book, Flipped, were set up differ from the other book. In this book, every other chapter was written from a girl's point of view. The rest chapters were wrote in from a boy's opinion. Compared to the other books, all of their chapters were wrote from only one person's opinion. I would find more differences as I read on.

Summary: I flipped for Flipped
Review: I recently read Flipped as part of my assignment as a substitute teacher to a group of students I was subbing for this year. I was so excited about this book and couldn't wait to get back to school the next day to read some more. The great part was the student's reaction to the book was very similar. I was amazed when I would stop reading to begin the next lesson at the way the middle school students (boys and girls alike) would all say "awww...can't you read a little more, please?" everytime I closed the book. The book shows typical interactions between Julie and Bryce in a realistic way with dialogue and settings that you can really see and feel. I love the contrasting opinions offered in alternating chapters from Bryce and Julie about the everyday interactions between them. Both are portrayed in very believable characters without falling into stereotypical patterns. Julie is a unique spunky little girl who has her heart set on Bryce, and his great big blue eyes. Bryce is not so smitten with Julie and stays this way nearly to the end, when he begins to see Julie for all the she really is. But that doesnt stop him from hurting her feelings a time or two along the way. The dialog is very well done. I was so upset when my subbing job ending and I could not finish the book, that I went to the school library and requested a copy to finish the story on my own. It is a great representation of real people in real situations and for me it was very telling of how two people can see the same event in two very different ways. Readers will love it.

Flipped
Wendellin Van Drannen
Knopf 2003 224pp. $8.95
ISBN: 0375825444

Flipped is a fun loving story about two kids who go by the names of Julianna and Bryce. Julianna is a bright spunky little girl who does great in school and loves being around Bryce. Julianna also loves being around Bryce because since the first day they met she truly loved him.
Bryce has a older sister and a mother and a father. His family finds Julianna simply wonderful, but Bryce on the other hand considers Julianna a pain, if you know what I mean.

This story takes you through the lives of two young kids. It shows you form two different perspectives of how it feels to like someone and them not know it. Then years later things get flipped and you now like a person you have disliked for all these years.

Some things that I liked about this book are that the author shows a lot of detail and creates a movie behind your eyelids. The cliffhangers in the book made you want to read the book even more!
If you are a person who likes a little puppy love and humor about someone liking you, then this is the perfect book for you!

Summary: Flipped
Review: Flipped is a story of two neighbors Juli and Bryce and their relationship with each other. From second grade to about seventh, Julianna had a huge crush on him. She loves his blue eyes, his dark hair, and the way that he's so shy. From second grade to about seventh, Bryce has been hiding from his crazy neighbor who follows him around everywhere.

The story is told in Juli and Bryce's perspective and alternates each chapter. The reason I like the book so much is how much their reactions and interpretations of the same events differ so much. For example, at the beginning, a second grade Juli is so excited to have a new neighbor that's her age so she goes over to help him unpack. Bryce sees her as a dirty little girl who barges and shoves and wedges her way into his life. However, the book doesn't keep repeating the same information and events over and over again like you may be thinking. Each chapter tells what's been happening between the two of them with their own thoughts, but also what their school and home life is like too.

The book also has some romance between the two, some angsty moments and a little bit of fluff at the end. I think this book is good for everyone who'd like a fast, funny book, that will stay with you for awhile.
