Summary: All the basics, easily accessible.
Review: Elizabeth Castro's HTML For The World Wide Web appears in its 4th edition to provide a fine visual guide to the language. Beginners receive pictures rather than lots of text: all the basics are covered in an easily-accessed format.

Summary: I wish I bought some other book, but it was still "ok"
Review: I just have one thing to say... There are only 3 colors within the book. Black, White, and Red! This could have been much better if the true colors were there. I imagine there are better HTML books there. I'm going to look around.

Summary: Great Reference for getting Started in HTML Quickly
Review: This is a great book for beginners as well as the intermediate user. I would not call myself an HTML expert, but would put myself as an intermediate user. Even though I already knew basic HTML, I was self-taught and did not know everything. This book filled-in the holes and also provided a quick reference when I "forgot" what I had already learned! (I'm getting OLD) I liked the fact that the book was not full of technical jargon that only serves to prolong the learning experience and frustrate the reader. It was concise and clear and the screen shots were great! I carry this book with me and have it "tabbed" for quick reference. I use it alot and have definitely got my money's worth! Good Job Elizabeth! I'm now going to purchase her quick-start guide on Perl.

Summary: HTML 4 For The World Wide Web
Review: I have never seen such an easy approach to HTML coding. I applaud Liz Castro for her unique ability to break down an incredible mass of tags and line breaks into plain English. Thanks!

Summary: The best HTML book I've come across...
Review: Echoing an earlier comment, I love the way the code is displayed side-by-side with its effect. After working through this book, I'm able to write HTML inside vi or Notepad and visualize what it'll do when rendered. I work on a mixed environment (Win95, Win98, WinNT, Linux), so the being able to edit raw HTML and not having to depend on, say, Homesite, is a valuable skill. This is a really well-done book.

Summary: Elizabeth Castro made learning HTML EASY!
Review: I knew nothing about making a website before reading HTML 4 by Elizabeth Castro. I found it to be written in such a way that it was very understandable, even simple. The author also uses good illustrations that shows you what the web page will look like if you write a certian html tag (which is invaluable). But, no matter how well the book has been written, we will still get stuck sometimes. Knowing this, Elizabeth Castro has not left us out there in the cyber wilderness on our own; she not only has a website where you can post your question for others to help you (or you may find your own question already answered there); but she also will answer your questions HERSELF, via e-mail. Yes, she has definately made learning html not only easy, but I really had fun with it too. (surprised me!)

Summary: Great Book For Starters
Review: This is a great book for people who know nothing about HTML. It taught me the basics and allowed me to move into more advanced subjects. However if you already know HTML do not buy this as a reference.

Summary: Kudos to Ms. Castro!
Review: Hi all!

I just finished a class in html and used this book as a reference. I found it to be the handiest and constantly referred back to it when it came time to work on projects.

I was amazed at how I could follow the precisely laid out, step by step, processes (especially in the more complex areas of nested frames and tables).

I recommend this book very highly and consider it superior to many of the other software books that I have read, (most at far higher costs too boot!)

Summary: I made Thousands with this book
Review: Thank Ms. Castro. I bought your book about 2 years ago and I began a small web business and today I have dozens of web sites on the net. I did this part-time with little other investments. I estimate I have made 30K or more. The best part is I am still using the book for quick reference. I gave the book to my brother and he became a web master of a internet company. I Asked for the book back and then passed it to a cousin who now has your new book. Your book changed our lives. Now that is the best review I can give. Thank you for a clear, concise, visual book that helps the novice become the master.

Summary: The Very Best HTML 4 Book Ever
Review: I am a person who loves to experiment with computer software, figure out how things work. I have always been interested in HTML, and then the power of HTML 4 amazed me. I have tried a couple different books, that had good content, but I never seemed to finish them. When I began reading this book, I instantly got interested. It is a great book for beginners and experts. I would recommend it to anyone.
