Summary: Very Good Food For ASP Thought
Review: Will this book teach you ASP? No, but it will give you an idea of what you can cook up with ASP. So, yes, think of it as a cookbook. You can take the recipies as they are, or alter them to fit your enviroment.

If you work on an Intranet and work with ASP, you can woo the crowds with the application recipies in this tome. A word of caution is that you had better know what is going on in ASP code and how to setup a database before you open the book. Coulpled with Wrox's Beginning ASP, You can rock and roll.

Summary: Extremely powerful, well written, and it works!
Review: I have read the book cover to cover and found the book was extremely well written and explained the applications in easy to understand language. In addition, I was amazed at the amount of code that was provided and how easy it was to get up and running. This is one of the finest ASP books ever!

Thanks Greg!

Summary: I love this book!
Review: This book rules! I'm primarily a graphic designer not a developer or spelling bee and the examples in the book are very useful and will allow you to be productive right off the bat ... but the cool thing about this book is the approach. He shows you the the finished product (what the scripts do) Then show the script in whole so you can try to understand it and then he breaks it down you and tells you what each part does. I've learned more in a week from this book than I've learn trying to learn asp for the last year.

Very cool!

Summary: Easy to follow, very resourceful. Don't go pass this book.
Review: There are times when you go to the bookstore and think that you have found a really great book but only to find that when you've actually used it, you realised that it is hard to follow or not really what you are after.

I was after an ASP book that was easy to follow, gives good explanation of the code and has lots of handy examples. This book is exactly what I was after. It provides instant asp scripts that gives good ground in understanding the logic of the script. From there, you just need to expand your own ideas on how this can be used for your own needs. Greg Buczek deserves a credit for giving plenty of effort and hard work in making up this book.

Summary: A Through Reference
Review: I own a lot of books on ASP but none like this. It is filled with examples of nothing but ASP code that can be used in a business environment as well as personal which are throughly explained. I have used his examples to write code of my own. I have installed his examples on my own web server and they always work correctly. The databases are written in SQL but not provided, which is not a problem because the code to generate them is included. I keep a copy of this book at home and at the office for reference. On occasion I have e-mailed Mr. Buczek with a question about an example, he has always responded and tried to help as much as he can.

Summary: If you only buy one ASP book, make it this one.
Review: Many teachers and books have put me to sleep while droning on and on about every little detail of a language -- not this book. This book is great! It provides chapter after chapter of real, full-blown web applications. You get to see real-life examples at work and see how they are implemented. You see the tricks of building real applications.

In addition, the first two chapters give you an overview of the concepts involved so you have just the right amount of information that you need to start understanding the scripts right off the bat.

Summary: Excellent Working Resource
Review: I have never entered a review but find myself compelled to write one on this book. The samples in this book were so helpful that the number of development hours I saved were huge. In response to another reviewer, the SQL Server databases are on the CD. I use Access so I sent an email to the author, his address is in the back of the book, and he sent me an Access database the same day. I have tried numerous examples and they work great, without exception!

Summary: Instant ASP Scripts
Review: The book is a little hard to follow if you have no previouos experience. Mr Buczek is trying to teach by example but none of his examples can be run. All of the samples are on the CD, however none of the corresponding databases are on the CD. Since ASP is 90% database integration, I consider this a serious mistake on the author's part. I checked the publishers website for the databases but they aren't there either. The database structures can be found in the book. Perhaps I'm lazy but, I don't want to create and fill in the databases. In order to see how the examples work, I have to. What it comes down to is that the CD is useless, and Mr Buczek is just another text book teacher.

Summary: Not so good as it seems
Review: When I bought this book I thought that it would be helpful and interesting. But I found it really boring. It has millons of examples and when you have read 100 pages of it you will know the same that if tou read the 800 pages. I recomend it for really beginners in ASP.
