Rating: Summary: Siegel's Best Book Yet.... Review: "The Customer, the customer, the customer..."David Siegel, accomplished web designer, film director, entrepreneur and author certainly does it again with his latest offering. "Futurize Your Enterprise" is one of the few books in my library which would remain a useful guide and reference to futurize the way i look at e-commerce, e-business and customer service. I found Futurize Your Business extremely enlightening -- a fresh look at what e-business can do for an existing establishment and methods to bring it into the New Economy. The other great thing is that the accompanying site goes a step further with bootcamps and interactivity. This book will remain one of my most treasured in my collection. Definitely recommend it. My advice? Go buy it.
Rating: Summary: A must read for anyone in the client service arena Review: A complex read that requires digestion. If you are interested in developing your client relationships with a view to the current and future environments, then you owe it to your-self to read this book.
Rating: Summary: Customer? Do we have to deal with Customers? Review: David has done it again! In "Futurize You Enterprise" he has expanded a single word into several "must read" chapters, outlines and pertinent sidebars. Some people are natural born merchants and will not need David's wonderful definition and explanation of that single word. The rest of us need to read this book often if we hope to make a living in the near future. Oh yes! That single word that David so easily expands into a clear business plan complete with workable process? CUSTOMER.
Rating: Summary: Not sure about this one Review: This book provides few if any answers (the web site is not much better). Siegal has some interesting thoughts, but when he tries to predict the e-world in 2010 it got just a bit too much for me. I'd like to know what it will be doing in 2-3 years not worrying about 10 years from now. That said the basic premise that organisations must be customer-led/driven is very valid. It's quite obvious even now that those e-businesses who build their business model on customer needs will win market share much more easily in the web-world. They just have to deliver financial performance earlier to really turn the world on its ear.
Rating: Summary: The bible of e-commerce Review: Hockey great, Wayne Greztky, attributed his success on the ice to skating "where the puck is going to be" rather than its present position. David Siegal's book does the same thing...focuses on where the world of e-commerce is going to be, not where it is now. In this ever-accelerating world of electronic commerce, this is the one book that is far ahead of the pack. It's THE seminal book on the future of e-commerce.
Rating: Summary: The truth is finally coming out Review: This book will make an incredible impact on the future of organizations all over the world. David is such an awesome visionary and so common sensicle at the same time. Yes David, the customer is our future and those of us who will adopt and nurture our customers will blow away the competition. I found all the concepts and philosophies in David's book to be right on and as he states starts with an attitude at the senior level and should be infectious throughout the organization in making this the best and last re-organization your company should ever have to go through. Futurizing is a "Cultural" change not an "Operational" transition and change. Thanks David for opening our eyes to the new world and becoming a customer led society, lets give the power back to those who we count on for our survival! David points out that egos and what we think will work or used to work has no place in the new world. And it is through total cooperation and creating communities of customers that can communicate with employees and other customers as a backbone to this transition. David also shows you how to introduce the idea of Host's to act as advisors, conceirge, and ambassadors for your customers. How many organizations are doing this? I would suggest it is time to take what David says deeply to the heart and begin to re-organize and make the transition. Wonderful and very true David, Thank you! There is so much more I can say, this book will and already has effected my life in many ways. I will be "Futurized"!
Rating: Summary: The Real e-Business... Review: Online-businesses is growing rapidly in Asia, business owners, big and small are fully aware of the e-business growth around the world and although the more established ones have been slow to get on the web, Malaysian businesses are preparing themselves for the e-business explosion. The information Siegel has provided certainly serve to demystify e-business and provide business owners some guidance to see e-business in action and more importantly to have a touch and feel of e-business. The principles are practical, the common-sense approach provide an insightful road-map for creating the culture necessary to meet the e-business challenge. Siegel also shows that while its easy to start a Web-site, they need purpose, sustenance and enhancement because e-customers expect a lot. To the impatient surfer, the alternative is only a click away. Check out the Web-sites referred to, they include entertainment, culture and other topical categories -- not because they're just so money-minded but they will educate, challenge and entertain you. Enough said, all you netprenuers out there, go get this book!

Rating: Summary: An amazing trip to the future ... now! Review: I found Futurize one of the most exciting and honest business reads today ... I read this book following reading the Cluetrain Manifesto. Both are totally on point when they speak to the dramatic changes that will occur as organizations wake up and realize they can't control the Internet. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is in marketing and has anything to do with the Internet (which is all of us, really). This is the real deal - how it should be done versus how many are doing it today. Super read!
Rating: Summary: A great web conversation now and in the future! Review: David Siegel has quite simply and eloquently explained the web and the make sense energy surrounding real people having real conversations. The book is well written with real identifiable examples to solidify subject points. David gives us a look at the future and how the Internet will play a pivotal role in our daily lives. His 2010 predictions are stimulating! The book has offered me a way to rethink my business and personal approach to the web.
