Summary: one of the best metal albums of all time
Review: this album is amazing with ultra fast tracks like "blackened" and "dyers eve" to slower emotional songs like "to live is to die" and "one" and every other song on the disc how can you not like this album. my favorite album from metallica tying with master of puppets. you have to give credit to lars for being able to drum so fast on most of the tracks and kirks guitar playing kicks on this album and james's lyrics are very deep on ajfa the only flaw with this cd is that the bass is completely shunned out. i play bass guitar and its one of the most important things that makes a band.

if you dont have this album and you like metallica buy it!

Summary: Hammer Of Justice Crushes You.
Review: This was not after Metallica's peak. This was Metallica's peak. It's the last great album they produced. They fell apart when they released The Black Album. Everything from there to Garage, Inc. wasn't the greatest. But And Justice For All has to be one of the greatest songs ever made by them. The Top 3 have to be 1 - Hit The Lights, 2 - And Justice For All, 3 - Fight Fire With Fire.

Summary: Very nice album!
Review: This album is just priceless. Never did I have an album where every single song is my favorite. The album has a very nice heavy metallica style all the time, never changing.

And it has many masterpieces, like Blackened, And Justice For All, One, To Live is to Die, and Dyers Eve.

How can you not love it?

Summary: BEST METAL ALBUM IN EXISTENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: This is without a doubt (in my opinion) not only the best Metallica album in existence, but It is the best metal album in existence.

BLACKENED- Like previous first Metallica tracks, it slowly builds into absolute mayhem as James screams anti-war lyrics. Lars stays busy, and really shines on this song. This is my favorite Metallica song of all time.

AND JUSTICE FOR ALL- This is by far one of the most sophisticated, intricate, and complex metal songs ever. Clocking in at over nine minutes, this song takes you on the ride of your life, and when its finally over, you are left, shocked at what you just heard. You cannot count the changes in pace/tone on one hand in this song. This is definately a song that Kirk shines on.

EYE OF THE BEHOLDER- Another awesome song with some great lyrics. "You can do it your own way, as long as its done just how i say."

ONE- The first Metallica song with a video made for it. Also one of their best songs of all time. Goes from semi-ballad like to all out headbanging thrash metal. In the last few minutes you cannot help but headbang.

SHORTEST STRAW- Great overall song with some awesome riffs and drum kicks. The chorus fits perfectly into the tone/atmosphere that the song creates.

HARVESTER OF SORROW- Slower, more violent song about how people who are abused as children sometimes bring that abuse to the generation following theres. One of my favorite songs on the album.

FRAYED ENDS OF SANITY- Great headbanging song, you will headbang, just because the rhythm of the song begs you to. Great all around song with awesome riffs and great vocals.

TO LIVE IS TO DIE- This song is an ode to Metallica's late bassist Cliff Burton. Though its an instrumental, its incredibly heavy and works into a heavy ballad style song.

DYERS EVE- This song and BLACKENED are the fastest songs on the album. Lars shows what he's made of in this song, and you can't help but give him props for being able to play drums as fast as he does on this song. The song is about parents to dictate to their children, and do not offer encouragement.

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THIS ALBUM, BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!!

Summary: There WILL be justice for all
Review: I purchased this disc on my school trip to Montreal three and a half months ago, and I was blown away. It is the heaviest and fastest album they have done, which is odd, since Jason Newsted screwed them up totally after Black, and this was his first studio album with them. And now, onto the tunes:

1. Blackened
A thrashin' good opener. A

2. ...And Justice For All
An epic. 9 minutes and 44 seconds of thrash heaven! A+

3. Eye Of The Beholder
A little slow, stays the same tempo throughout, but still heavy. B

4. One
Their first music video. And wow! Even people who diss this disc say that this song saves it from total lameness. What a pit favorite! Amazing solo! A+++

5. The Shortest Straw
A fast tune that stays the same throughout. Rockin' fun, but at a good glance, this could be a song that an extremely angry country singer could do (not to diss the kings of thrash in any way!). B+

6. Harvester Of Sorrow
Love the bass! Catchy chorus, too. A-

7. Frayed Ends Of Sanity
Love the Wizard Of Oz intro! Even so, this is the weakest lick on the album. B-

8. To Live Is To Die
An epic acoustic/electric instrumental, clocking in at nearly 10 minutes! As the acoustic ending section fades... A+

9. Dyers Eve
This thrashin' closer blasts in! A+

Ride The Lightning is their best, but this comes in a close second. If you're looking for the heaviest Metallica possible, this is for you.

Summary: Excellent music from metallica
Review: If only the production had been better. even though it lacks bass, this is definitely worth buying, and it is my personal Metallica favorite. There are 9 songs that last an hour, but not a second of it is dull or boring. I gave it 5 stars for a reason; so if you dont have it, scrool up to the top and click "add to cart." you wont be dissapointed.
best tracks-...and justice for all, harvester of sorrow, blackened

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: very good. excellent thrash metal here.
Review: This is one of metallica's finer releases, of about the same quality as ride the lightning and just a step below master of puppets. This has one of the best metallica guitar solos (aside from the one in master of puppets) ever. i am referring of course to the solo in "one" (arguably the best song on this album) if you're like me and you just recently got into metallica, make sure you get this cd. if not, well, i hope you enjoyed the review and share my opinion for the most part. some excellent stuff.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Their most underrated album!
Review: This is their best effort. I have never understood why Master of Puppets is more acclaimed than this album. To me, AJAF is Metallica simply at their best. Master had some ingenious songwriting and musicianship, but I believe that AJAF is even more sophisticated in every way MOP is. To me, this is just their greatest record. However, that is just my opinion. I'm sure others will disagree, and argue otherwise. But I know what I'm talking about when I say that this record is an absolute masterpiece in every sense of the word.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: [Bad] Production!? You guys are DEAF!
Review: If you buy any metallica CD, BUY "...AND JUSTICE FOR ALL".
Contrary to the other [] reviews on this page, this is 'tallica's BEST album. Songs are all EXCELLENT, despite length (I loved this CD when I only liked PUNK...!). As for the production, the guitars absolutely slay, the kick& snare are awesome and the overall ssound is punishing as all hell! ...there is NO bass guitar. Not that justice needs it. In a system with subwoofers, the kick drums will deafen you(!). Adding bass guitar to this mix would have made everything else weaker.
