Rating: Summary: september 1988 Review: 11 days before my birth, metallica released one of the greatest albums i've ever heard in my life. there is not even one song where you feel even the tiniest bit tempted to hit the skip button on your cd player. blackened, justice, and one are 4 (yes 4, justice counts for 2 cause its so long...not that thats bad...at all) of the greatest songs to ever grace the world of rock and metallica brought us these through ...and justice for all. i have nothing more to say, because if i say any more, i'll feel too geekfully obsessed with this cd...too late.
Rating: Summary: BEST METALLICA ALBUM YOU COULD EVER THINK OF BUYING Review: THIS IS IT. THE BEST METALLICA ALBUM TO HAVE EVER BEEN RELEASED. DEDICATED TO THE LATE CLIFF BURTON, THIS HEAVY METAL CLASSIC IS OVER AN HOUR OF NONSTOP, 100% PURE HEAVY METAL. THIS IS METALLICA AT THEIR BEST. ''ONE'' [THE SONG THAT METALLICA DID THEIR 1ST EVER MUSIC VIDEO FOR] IS THE BEST SONG ON THIS ALBUM. BUT, THERE ARE OTHER SONGS THAT'RE JUST TOO GOOD TO MISS; ''THE SHORTEST STRAW'', ''TO LIVE IS TO DIE'', ''THE FRAYED ENDS OF SANITY'', AND ''DYERS EVE''. THIS ALBUM IS WAY TOO HOT TO MISS. I'D SAY THIS IS IN CONTENTION FOR THE BEST METAL ALBUM EVER RELEASED. A DEFINITE GEM.
Rating: Summary: Metallicas last, great album Review: this is the first album metallica recorded with a new bass player named jason newsted.everything about this album is EXCELLENT!! guitars are brutal, james really knows how to growl, and the drums has the best work on the entire album, lars absoulutly knows how to pummel his drums on every song, jasons bass lines are good not great.i know if cliff burton was still alive and was in this album this wouldve been better than master of puppets.this is metallicas last great album,i would highly recommend it to any thrash fan.
Rating: Summary: METALLICA'S BEST WITHOUT A DOUBT!!! Review: Hell id give this album 10 stars if i could. And Its true that it would've been even better if they mixed the bass in, but come on its not that big a deal, Jason got a chance to show off his skills on the later albums. This is not only my favourite metallica album but 1 of my favourite metal albums too. tracks:1)Blakened: one of metallicas best, its a really fast agressive song about pollution and ruining the environment. The chorus is great and its a great opening track. 10/10 2)...And Justice for All: Well its certainly worthy of being the title track. I like it more than blakened and again its one of my all time favourite Metallica songs. from the complex acoustic parts to the heavy guitar bits this song is jam-packed with great music. 10/10 3) Eye of the Beholder: Another great song. It can't compete with the 1st 2 tracks though. Another song with a great chorus. I like the line 'You can do it your own way. If its done just how I say.' 9/10 4) One: A true masterpeice. yet another one of my favourites, and this songs is a big fan-favourite and people have claimed it to be the greatest song metallica ever wrote. 10/10 5) Shortest Straw: This song can get a bit repeditive at times, and is probably my least favourite on the album, but by no means does that make it a bad song. 8/10 6)Harvester of Sorrow: Probably my favourite song on the whole cd! its among my favourite metallica songs. I just love the main riff its probably my favourite riff Ive ever heard. Then again people might disagree. If you've heard a better riff let me know by emailing me at metal_mayhem01@hotmail.com. I'll be interested to see what people think. 11/10 7)Frayed Ends Of Sanity: Another masterpeice! Metallica never cease to amaze me. It opens with the ow-ee-oh, ee-oh-wow (or however you're supposed to write it) from the wizard of oz. Its a great fast song with a great chorus and the verses are also good. 10/10 8)To Live is To Die: The instumental song for this album (well, almost he says a few sentences in the middle). The guitarwork is amazing! It varies soi much musically and proves that you don't need lyrics for a good song. 9/10 9)Dyers Eve: The first time i heard this song i was blown away. Its so damn fast! Again one of my favourite Metallica songs and a great song to end the album with. Everything about this song is great. At some bit it sounds a little like something by Slayer, but that's just my opinion. 10/10 wow, this album has so many of my favourite metallica songs on it! I highly recommend it to anyone who is into metal.
Rating: Summary: Definition of true Metal Review: This album marked Metallica's last true heavy album. It is their best. Without a doubt. I need to point out something though. All the other reviews I read didn't mention the best song in the album, Metallica's best song, easily my favorite song, and Metal's shining moment. "BLACKENED." This defines METAL. The main riff is like no one elses. I don't know if James or Kirk wrote it but it is pure magic. And for the rest of the riffs, there couldn't have been any other. The rest of the album is just as good. Get this album. And don't be weak and say your favorite song is One. That was my favorite of the album when I got it. Untill I started to realize true metal.
Rating: Summary: METALLICA RULES! Review: Man, I'm really into Metallica. They're practically the only band I listen too; AND JUSTICE FOR ALL is a bad-ass album. To be honest, I didn't like it when I first listened to it. But with repeated listenings, the album is tight. Of course it's not better then MASTER OF PUPPETS, but maybe in the same area as RIDE THE LIGHTNING. Anyway, my favorite songs are the three I most listen too: BLACKENED, AND JUSTICE FOR ALL and ONE. The rest are pretty cool too. But those three are one of the best songs Metallica has ever made in their astounding career. Oh yeah, whoever who talks crap about Metallica sucks. FOREVER METALLICA!
Rating: Summary: Masterpiece Review: If you enjoy listening to metal, then by all means buy And Justice For All. Metal doesn't get any better than this. Easily five stars. Also buy anything else Metallica released in the 80's. Don't listen to idiots who rate this cd one star, this album is truly a metal classic.
Rating: Summary: boring, pointless crap Review: what a waste of money. this album and all of metallicas albums arent even worth enough to be free! how can anyone listen to this gibberjabber?! sounds like pots and pans for drums. lead vocal probably has laringitis from shouting all the time. who listens to this junk? im sure glad i got mine for free otherwise i`d be a sad soul if i actually paid anything for this crap.
Rating: Summary: A combination of heart, soul, and pure metal Review: What an album this is, an incredible masterpiece of raw brutal energy and great songwriting. In 1988, another metall masterpiece was released titled "...And Justice For All". It is truly a great metal CD. Although Production was semi-poor, it was still and excellent CD, some of the harmony on this CD is unmatchable. Here are the songs along with ratings: Blackened: Starting off with backwards guitar, and going into an adrenaline rush, this song is a true opener. Good Harmony, and a hard ass solo at the end, amazing. A+ ...And Justice For All: Another great song, filled with harmony and a great lead. 9 minutes of a great song, not alot can match it. A+ Eye Of the Beholder: A quite original song, with a fade-in at the beginning something that ive never heard before. good riffs, and a good guitar solo, and some good lyrics make this song great. A One: Wow, One, is, simply put, one of metallica's most ingenius songs. metallica proves that simple opening riffs lead to an incredible song. This song starts off with war noises, and goes into the classic riff. two solos, and a guitar harmony which cannot be matched. A brutal ending, and a hell of a guitar solo. A+ Shortest Straw: The opening is, how you say, very heavy. brutal beggining, and a heart pumping song. Shortest straw is a nother good. A Harvester of Sorrow: This is another good song, but is very repetitive at times which brings it a little lower in rating, but still a good song that fits a good album. A- Frayed Ends Of Sanity: Were they on drugs when they made this? The beginning starts off with the Oh We Love The Old One from the Wizard of Oz, and goes into one hell of a song. A+ To Live Is To Die: I Love this song, another great instrumental, and a tribute song to one of the greatest bassists ever, Cliff Burton. A+ Dyer's Eve: what an ender, pure speed metal, great solo, powerful meaning, excellent song. A+ BUY THIS ALBUM I STRONGLY RECCOMEND IT!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Slightly overrated Review: A very good offering from a maturing band buts its true to say that the album has weak points that when compared against tracks like one sound quite poor make no mistake its pretty damn good but metallicas best release is lightning in my view an honest review.
