Rating: Summary: METALLICA RULES Review: I just started listening to METALLICA about two years ago, and they're my favorite band!!! I never thought I would be listening to metal, but once I heard METALLICA, I knew I'd never stop. They have such a unique sound, it's not like they're just another alternative band from Seattle. METALLICA reminds me of Ozzy, and you know anything that reminds you of Ozzy has to be good. I can't wait til they cut their next CD, I'll be one of the first people in line to buy it!!! METALLICA RULES!!!!!
Rating: Summary: KICK-ASS MUSIC BY THE BAND TO END ALL BANDS!!!!!!! Review: I believe that some of Metallica's best work is on this one CD. "Frayed Ends of Sanity", "One", and "Harvester of Sorrow" are my all time Metallica favorites! I recommend this CD to anyone just getting into the Metallica way of things! After "Black", the band kinda went soft. The new stuff is good, but the old stuff is the best!
Rating: Summary: ...And Justice For All defining moment for Metallica Review: With the death of bassist Cliff Burton, metallica returned from Europe asking questions and looking for answers. After finding new bassist Jason Newsted, the band went to work on their new album. ...and Justice for All is fueled by the confusion, anger and questioning of metallica after their loss. They saw the injustice of the world, just like saying, Why did this happen to me?' So all their songs can ahve dual meaning; greiving their loss and also questioning the system. Although not as trash as they once were, the band progressed to in-your0face, make you want to go out and kill people music with songs like Blackened, the title track, Eye of the Beholder, Frayed Ends of Sanity, and the fastest song on the album, Dyers Eve. This is why the call it heavy metal, the bass and guitar compliment each other excellently and Lars' on the drums make it an excellent album.
Rating: Summary: I LOVE THIS ALBUM!! Review: I'd say this album is almost as good as Master of Puppets and Ride the Lightning, but still worthy of 5 stars. I love the energy that Metallica has in this album. Songs like One, Harvester of Sorrow, and Blackened are really great. So if you're just getting into Metallica, your best bet would be to get this, MOP and RTL, and avoid anything after the Black Album.
Rating: Summary: Possibly the best Metallica album ever! Review: This is a great album, from the rebellious, in your face action of And Justice For All to the moody riffs of One, to the excellent tribute to Cliff Burton in To Live is To Die
Rating: Summary: Powerful and Strong Review: This album is probally one of my favorites from the Gods of thrash, my favorite has to be Frayed.....,and Dyers Eve just from the energy this album produces is mind blowing i recommend playing it loud and you will feel the wrath ,James has proven once again why he is the best front man in the biz!! he is a genius when it comes to writing just wish the loads had the same kind of heaviness buy it you wont be dissappointed an A++++
Rating: Summary: Their 3rd Best Review: If you get 3 CDs, get Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, and this. It starts off with a fast and furious "Blackened", then quickly moves on to the second-longest Metallica song ever, the title track, which is basically about the corruption of "justice" and the money grubbing lawyers. The next track is a fast-paced attack on censorship, "Eye of the Beholder". Next is their first major breakthrough, "One" (which I personally don't feel is their best). It starts slow, and is yet another attack on war, but has some other elements, mainly the stupidity of keeping critical patients alive by the use of machines, prolonging their suffering when they're beyond help. Next, "The Shortest Straw", another attack on the justice system. "Harvester of Sorrow"' next, followed by "The Frayed Ends of Sanity", a song about the horror of mental illnesses, from schizophrenia to depression. "To Live is to Die", practically an instrumental, is the most interesting on the disc, going from slow to fast to slow again. It's also the longest song Metallica ever produced, clocking in at just under 10 minutes (9:48), of which only about 20 seconds are used for the lyrics. However, I think it was just a tribute to Cliff and not a real song. It's good anyway. "Dyers Eve" is the last cut, and it screams with energy. It deals with overprotective parents and the method in which they control their kids' lives. Overall, the album's full of originality, diversity, and just kicking ass. If you already have Ride and Master, get this one. You won't regret it.
Rating: Summary: good good good Review: I thouroughly enjoyed this cd. This is like Metallica's third best cd. One and Blackened and The Frayed ends of sanity are definately the best ones. What ever you do, don't buy the loads. They SUCK
