Summary: You will never forget Jamie and Claire
Review: "Outlander" and its sequels are amongst the most wonderful books I have ever read. An emotional roller-coaster, they make you laugh and cry, and wish they would never end! Honestly, I do not understand how anyone cannot like those extraordinary books. Some nit-picking reviewers seem to disapprove of them for their graphic descriptions of torture and brutality, or their occasional focus on sex and romance. Well, how prudish can you get? I actually cherish them for their very outspokenness. After all, it would be absurd to write about history and simply ignore some of its more unpleasant aspects for the sake of a minority of squeamish readers... As to descriptions of sex, I find them quite outstanding and not too explicit, either. Frankly, how can you find fault with something like four or five of such scenes in a book that contains around 1,000 pages? In my mind, they just add the right amount of spice to the story, and it would be impossible to do without them. I just love Diana Gabaldon's dry, sometimes slightly cynical, but humorous and perceptive style. She has definitely written some of the most heart-wrenching scenes in literature, as well. Claire and Jamie's story is unforgettable and keeps haunting me for days after I have finished a book of the series. Every now and then, I have to remind myself that they are only ficticious characters, which proves how life-like and realistic their portrayal is. Thank you, Diana Gabaldon, for an amazing reading experience, for the laughter and the tears, for the warm feeling that goes along with reading a truly wonderful story, and the tinge of sadness that comes when finishing an absolutely perfect book! Summary: The BEST historical romance series.
Review: A definite "must read" for the historical romance lover. Nothing else compairs. I suggest you purchase the entire set of books to keep you from having to dash out to the store the moment you finish the last page of Outlander. An adventure that will sweep you through time and deliver you to the highlands where you'll fall in love with Jamie, a Scottish hero like no other. Not your ordinary romance, this book is full of detail and master story telling. Don't miss this series.

Summary: "When I've finished all four, life will be a BORE!"
Review: As other readers obviously agree, this book and its three sequels will stay with me forever, and I absolutely DESPAIR at the thought of finishing them. I am nearly through with the third, "Voyager", have an overwhelming need to visit Scotland, and of course would leap through a time-travel cleft in a stone circle if it would bring me back to the infamous Jamie!

Summary: I was a fly on the wall!!
Review: This book had me right-there with Jamie and Claire! I usually don't like time travel themed books. In fact, the first time it was recommended to me, I put it down in the store after reading the back cover. I don't know what made me order it this time but I'm so glad I did! It is truly one of the most engrossing, well written books I have ever read. Claire and Jamie are REAL. With this book, I was not a reader at all. I was a participant in a great adventure and beautifully unorthadox love story, all for the price of a paperback. My house has been neglected, the Christmas presents need wrapping, and the dog needs to be walked because I was not able to put it down. And when I did manage it, I went around with a smile on my face, replaying the story in my head. I am great friends with Claire and in love with Jamie Fraser. Once you pick up this book, you will be too!

Summary: The Best Historical Novel I Have Read
Review: I have for years read and loved historical novels. I have now completed all 4 of Diana Gabaldon's series and could not put them down. When can we expect to see more???

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The perfect read for when snow-bound all weekend.
Review: Slow starting due to the meticulous attention to detail but builds into a magnificent story. By the end of book four I was thankful that Ms. Gabaldon is so verbose. I never want this series to end. Please tell us that Jamie is modeled after a flesh and blood man...

Summary: A wonderful read
Review: Outlander starts out slow but keep reading the best is yet to come. Opens the door for the other books, which in my opinion are excellent.

Summary: Diana Gabaldan knows how to spin a story, LOVED IT.
Review: I have never been a reader until I turned 42, never finished a book before. Was given Outlander by my sister to read and fell in love with all the characters. This is the first book that I completly read from cover to cover and it had to be over 600 pages. Now I can't seem to put down a good romance book, they can be a rare beast. A good romance author is a gift. Ms D.G. comes through for us. Jamie and Claire' romantic scenes are truly well written. Their first experience on their wedding night was a delight. The pain and torment Jamie lived through nearly broke my heart. Claire was wise to help him through it all. She is one tough cookie. I have read all four of Jamie and Claire's adventures. Jamie is one hunk of a man, Claire is truly lucky. What's next for the Frazer Clan.

Summary: Wonderful
Review: Although it took me more time to get into this book. Once I did I loved it. It was very hard to put down. When I was done I felt like I learned alot. There was sometimes much to much detail. This was a great read. I am looking forward in continuing the series.

Summary: Scottish romance at it's best!
Review: If only I could travel back in time to meet that man, Jamie! Wow! I am not a huge fan of Romance, but this book has really changed my outlook! Diana Gabaldon has done an incredible job writing this novel, and I look forward to reading the rest in the series. Even if you are not a fan of Romance, give this book a try, and enjoy!
