Summary: I couldn't put it down. It just enthralled me to the end.
Review: When I first began reading Outlander, I thought that there could have never been a better book that i have read before in all my days of reading. I felt that Diana Gabaldon truly understood what readers were looking for in a work of fiction where romance, fantasy, adventure, and entertainment was concerned. I feel that this was one of the best and most entertaining of all stories that i have ever read. The scope of time travel was excellent and the story keep me in suspense every time. I just couldn't put it down and I can't wait to get my hands on the others. This book truly took my breath away. I never enjoyed a book so much.

Summary: Best Book I've Ever Read
Review: I came upon this book by accident, and have been a fan of Diana Gabaldon ever since! Romantic, thrilling and cathartic, this book is a real page turner. I recommended the book to a friend who also loved it, but her husband was even more thankful that I did. He said it added zing to their sex life for months! I know Jamie Fraser is my ideal dream man.

Summary: Wonderful historical drama/romance/fantasy
Review: I was first persuaded to read this book by a friend. I was sceptical, to say the least, as I immediately identified it as a 'romantic novel' and therefore not to my taste at all. How wrong I was! The characterisation in the book is superb - the storyline is excellent, and you simply CANNOT PUT IT DOWN. Other reviewers have said that, as Outlander (which was retitled 'Crossstitch' in the UK) contains time-travelling, it MUST be a science fiction book. Well it's not. In my opinion it defies ANY classification - it's not sci-fi, not fantasy, not romantic novel, not historical drama - it IS a mixture of all of them, and a damn good book. Go out and buy it - preferably in hardback, as you'll want to read it again and again.

Summary: A FUNtastic Story
Review: This series of books is incredible. I read them so fast one after the other. I can't wait for her newest one to come out....hopefully in January 1999. I found myself so wrapped up in every character and loving all the history to the point of visiting Scotland last spring. Diana Galbaldon does a great job of describing everything to the point of the reader actually seeing it for themselves. If anyone wants to email me to chat, I'd love to hear from you.

Summary: Fantastic!!!!!!!!!!! The best ever
Review: I have read all the series of the Diana Gabaldon books they are best time traveling books I have ever read! I would reccomend any and all of these books to anyone to read. She keeps your attention threw the whole book, and makes you want to pick up the next volume as soon as you are done with the first. Had to wait a few years for the last book to come out but it was worth the wait for me. Truly an outstanding author of our times.

Summary: Now this is romance!
Review: I have never given a review before. However, after reading Outlander and the rest of Diana Gabaldon's series; I just had to comment on how wonderful these books were. From what I understand, she is a fiction writer but has captured romance better than any romance writer's other works. The books are loaded with love, laughter, action; you name it, it's in there. It was a very emotional read. If there were Oscars for romance novel writing, here's your winner.

Summary: Gabaldon is the gold standard!
Review: I was one of the first fans of the Oulander series, and as a bookseller, I have been able to hand sell more copies of this title than any other. Not only that, but I have recommended it to my fellow booksellers, and they have been equally enthusiastic in their recommendations. OUTLANDER and its sequals are true originals -- defining the Time Travel genre. All others pale in comparison. For romance, adventure, mysticism, and sheer escape, I cannot think of better companions than Jamie and Clare.

Summary: Booooring!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: This book was so boring!! I bought all three and couldn't bear to finish the last one, I tried but I just couldn't do it. Try reading "Knight in Shining Armour". After all, this time travel romance stuff should be fun and fanciful not drawn out, and boooring!!!!!

Summary: Don't start this book unless you are ready to finish it.
Review: Diana Galbadon has obviously done her research on Scotland, Scottish history, and the highlands and highlanders in particular. She brings both the land and the inhabitants to vibrant, pulsating life; dialogue is appropriate, and the Scottish dialect is appropriately portrayed. I bought this book at lunch one day, started reading at 7:00pm after dinner, and finished the book as the sun rose the following morning; not ready to lay it down without finding out how it ended. Went back to the bookstore the following day and bought the 2nd book, in HARDCOVER for $25.00+ to continue the read! The 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the series have maintained the quality of the first book, a rare thing indeed. I am most anxious to obtain anything else this fine author pens, either of a "pre-quel" nature or as a continuation of Claire and Jamie's saga in the New World. A hearty recommendation to any reader who truly enjoys a fast-paced, well-written, historically accurate story! Five stars aren't enough!!!

Summary: READ THIS BOOK!!!
Review: Diana Gabaldon's books go so far beyond "Historical Romance" that they should be in a category all their own. The Outlander series has it all- history, love, sex, evil, magic, war... But be warned: this book will make you fall in love, make you laugh, make you hate, and then it will break your heart like no other book can do. Once you pick up this book, James Fraser will haunt your thoughts and dreams forever.
