Summary: hmmmmmmm
Review: The neon-colored cover and the distorted photo of this book enticed me when I first saw it. I read the summary and reviews and decided to buy it because it sounded like an interesting story. I was a bit disappointed when this girl who could have everything going for her chooses to spend a year moping about how her best friend moved away and how all of her "friends" are clueless. This was billed as "humorous" but I rarely laughed. If this was supposed to be a book about teen ansgt, the only one having angst was the reader. The only parts I got pleasure out of reading were the times when Marcus was in the picture. The only reason I am going to read the sequel is to see where that relationship goes. That was the most honest, true-to-teenage-life thing about that book.

Summary: NOT a Sloppy First!
Review: A fantastic book that womem of all ages should read. I couldn't put it down from the moment I read the first line. This would make a wonderful TV show or movie! Who wouldn't want to watch Jessica Darling through the rest of her journey into adulthood?

Summary: WOW
Review: When Jessica Darling's best friend, Hope, moves away, she is devastated. None of her so-called *friends* ever understood her like Hope did. I totally feel for her in that situation. All the pressures - her weird relationships with everyone... the Clueless Crew, her sister Bethany's wedding and her mom's *friendship* with her sister, Marcus Flutie, etc.

I totally loved this book. I've always seen stuff that was unrealistic about High School, but this was so dead-on that it gave me new hope in books! "Sloppy Firsts" is fantastic! Jessica Darling is just like one of my best friends... As the reader, you feel like you know her.

Summary: an enjoyable read
Review: Eventhough I am a late 20 something, I still found this book hilarious, enjoyable and a relaxing read. Jessica Darling's character sprung off the pages and made me remember years past. The book kept me "glued" the entire time that I could not put it down. A book that will take people of any age through the unforgetable journey that is high school.

I hope there is a sequel...the end leaves you wanting more!

Summary: A great new Diary book!
Review: Jessica Darling hates her life. Her best friend Hope has just moved away from her town leaving her all alone. Her only freinds now are her Diary and the fake "popular crew" who she cannot stand. Though she writes to her friend as much as she can she still finds it hard to go along with daily life. She has to deal with being the smart one, and her fathers pressure to be the star track runner. Her best friend Scotty has a crush on her and her crush, Paul, dosen't even know she exists. And to top it off she has a strange boy named Marcus following her around and it's been months since she had her period and she dosen't know why.

After reading such books as Angus Thongs and Full Frontal Snogging and the Two Princess Diaries I have taken a liking to Diary style books. This one, I was very impressed with. Jessica Darling's story is not only entertaining but it's less PG style than other diary books making it even better for older teens like me. I found Jessica to be a great charecter and esay to relate to. Ms. McCafferty is working on another book about Jessica and I can't wait for it to come out. If you enjoy Diary books I really reccomend this!

Summary: What a Wonderful Book!!!!
Review: Words can not describe how much fun this book is. Jessica Darling is so humorous and insightful and I can totally relate to her feelings about her friends, parents and the world around her. Every teenage girl should read this. Seeing Jessica's humorous spin on situations just makes everything in my life seem to disappear.

Summary: WOW!
Review: What can I say that everyone else hasn't? It's easy to see that this is definately a book that everyone, whether you are yet to, in the process of, or have already experienced the "wonderful experience" called High School. This book kept me wondering and I would rush back to my room to learn about the next real-to-life adventure that Jessica Darling was getting into.I thoroughly enjoyed every page. ...

Summary: Enjoyable enough for a parent and a teenager
Review: I was enjoying this book so much that I gave it to my 14-year old daughter to read. Needless to say, I didn't get it back any time soon. She loved it and recommended it to many of her friends. I loved that the main character wasn't a drug addict - did well in school - was active in sports - and didn't feel the need to have sex as an extra-curricular activity yet was still a "cool" kid and not an unpopular dweeb.

We are both looking forward to the next novel starring Jessica Darling.
