Summary: A powerful, intriguing story
Review: This story begs the question "How far would you go for someone you love?" It's a heartwrenching story of two families whose lives are intertwined to the point where their children seem more like siblings than neighborhood playmates. A very powerful book about relationships and how strong or fragile they can be under duress.

Summary: AWESOME
Review: This is by far the best book I have ever read. I finished it three days ago and I am still thinking about it. It captivates you so much and you feel exactly what the characters are feeling. I was so shooken up by the various turning points in the story that I literally found myself shaking.

Summary: A Novel With PERSPECTIVE
Review: This book was recommended to me last fall. I didn't get around to purchasing it until we had a snowstorm last week. WHAT WAS I WAITING FOR? I read this remarkable 400 page novel in 1 day.

Picoult paints a very real set of characters throughout her book. The circumstances drag you into the heart of conflict. At times, it seemed as though I was within the skin of these characters. The suspense is amazing, and I found myself contemplating what would happen next.

This is an excellent read. Not only is it exciting, but it also takes the time to delve into the curious relationship of two teenagers, their families, and the friendship of adult women.

This novel left me with a new perspective. Things are NOT always as they seem...and love can be quite harmful. I recommend this to EVERYONE...especially teenagers and their parents.

Summary: CAN'T PUT IT DOWN!
Review: Everything Picoult writes has a purpose ... she doesn't give you a single detail that doesn't matter or that doesn't contribute to the story in a brilliant way. And the way she weaves the story together is awe-inspiring. This book has a great story, a great plot and characters who will stay with you for years.

Summary: Captivated
Review: I was fortunate to be loaned The Pact by a friend who had purchased the book and not yet read it. She gave me only a few days to read it but this is all I needed. The Pact would have to be the best book I have ever read. I could not put it down and felt I was involved in all the characters lives. It was not only a love story but was full of so much. Having three children of my own it really makes me wonder if I know what is going on in their minds - it certainly provides a lot of thought. I will definately be purchasing all of Jodi Picoult's books and would highly recommend to everyone.

Summary: AMAZING BOOK!
Review: I read THE PACT and found it to be the best book that I have ever read. I am now obsessed with Jodi Picoult and her work. She is truely a genius with detail and emotion. I literally couldn't put THE PACT down and I recommend it to anyone that is looking for a love story that offers suspense, excitement, and a believable plot.

Summary: WOW!
Review: I was unable to put this book down. What an amazing book. Jodi Picoult has perfectly described the feelings of love, loss, grief and devastation in The Pact. I think I must have begun weeping several times while reading this book (on the bus, in line at the drug store...).

Not only is the book gripping while you are reading it but it stays with you afterwards - I can't stop thinking about it.

The Pact is the story of two teenagers who grow up next door to one another from birth, their parents are the best of friends and have always expected that their children's friendship will blossom into love which it does.

The book jumps from both Chris and Emily's perspective as well as both sets of parents - it deals with a suicide pact gone wrong and the aftermath (as well as what has lead up to the central moment). If anyone has ever learned devastating news or lost a loved one then they know what it can do to a person as well as a family and I thought that The Pact was unbelievably realistic.

This was one of the most moving, touching and important books I have read - it certainly leaves you thinking about it and your own life as well as the lives of those around you.

Read this one but make sure to keep a box of tissues and a loved one near by (for a hug if you need one).

Summary: Absolutely Amazing...
Review: I've read a lot of great books over the years, but this book is, by far, the most incredible book i have ever read. I absolutely could not put it down--everything around me became obsolete while I became engrossed in this book. It was given to me by a friend, and the first I have ever read by Jodi Picoult. Well, I finished it in less than 4 days. I could not even think of anything else while reading this. It felt as though I was a part of Chris and Emily's lives and experiencing all the anguish and pain, as well as the love and passion, that these two had. I have never read a book before where my mouth dropped open in shock, or when I have cried for a brief, fleeting second simply because the scene seemed so real and endearing. I can seriously say that nothing could have added to this book to make it any more perfect--but as I reached the last page, I wanted nothing more than for the book to continue on...

Summary: ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!
Review: This book was absolutely incredible! The characters are believable, and their story is touching. If you have ever been in love, you will be able to relate to at least one of the characters in this book. Their pain will course right through you. It would make for a remarkable movie, and it deserves to be added into Oprah's Book Club.

Summary: Fascinating!
Review: I literally could not put this book down. The characters were all very interesting, though, when the book ended I still felt like I didn't quite understand Emily's desire to die.I had a hard time thinking it was from just one incident. I recomment this book to anyone who wants to get completely absorbed by a story.
