Summary: Wow, an interesting family dynamic - worth reading!
Review: I have to admit that I enjoyed reading this book. The tale is interesting and the characters were very accessible to me throughout the story. Most of the characters aren't very likeable, with the exception of one or two, but you can understand their positions and why they choose as they do. The tale is also a bit soap opera-ish, but I say, if you are having doubts about buying it or not, buy it. It is worth it. It certainly is. I couldn't stop reading until I found out about the fate of all the characters!

Summary: An Unexpected Mind-Captivating Story!
Review: Wow! What an excellent book, it left me astonished! This author Millenia Black definitely knows how to write a pageturner that captivates! While it's definitely not literature, believe me it's worth reading! You will not be able to put it down and you will be blown away at the end. I was skeptical that it would not be my cup of tea, but it held my interest until the unexpected ending and that is all the mattered in the end in my book!

Summary: Unforgettable
Review: This story is sort of like a soap opera, but then again it isn't. I found it to be, however, a serious pageturner and I must admit I became facinated with the characters and the story. The plot keeps you in suspense, and I found that while I was reading, frankly it was hard to put the book down.

Reginald Brooks is the main character of this book who doesn't do the best job at confessions, but his determination to set things right with his inappropriate double life leads him to the precipice, where along the way he finds out the trouble that brewed under the surface of two functional families, which of course leads to major dysfunction. This is one book that I will never forget after the ending. It's really as simple as that - unforgettable.

Summary: THE GREAT PRETENDER
Review: 5 Stars is not enough! A very colorful cast of characters make up this story. Mr. Reginald Brooks is at the helm and has control of the lives of just about every member of his family......uh, that's families, there are two of them, believe it or not!

Yes!! A man has two families and is living a double life in secret. This is a scary premise and really got me to thinking about such things happening in real life

I loved the pacing and the page-turning style the author used. I love short chapters and I was really reminded of Dominick Dunn & Jackie Collins rolled in one.

Read this one and enjoy the unsuspected ended. - by Rita Crawford

Summary: Couldn't put it down!!!
Review: This book gets going from the very first chapter. I hadn't read a book in quite a while after having two kids and I picked this up from Amazon with a few others one day and after taking a quick look at it and before I knew it I had read the entire Part 1.

Millenia Black really knows how to tell a terrific, fast-paced story. I just had to keep reading it and when I wasn't reading it, I was thinking about it, it felt so real, as if these people were people I knew!

A definite summer read....but I have to warn you....make sure you have another book because you are probably going to read The Great Pretender in the first few hours at the beach!

Summary: Unputdownable!!
Review: This is a brilliant book by Millenia Black. I read it in about two days, I couldn't put it down! This is a little different from other books as it moves very quickly, which is brilliant! The plot at no point ever started to become predictable and has a wonderful and shocking twist in the tale! Overall it is a wonderful book and I love the fact that it is about families in crisis. I especially liked the fact that it is about one man's troubles and how humanly he copes. It is a book about the inevitable penance of lies and deceit -- powerful!! I loved it and strongly recommend it to everyone!

Summary: Good reading
Review: Not many can tell a tale quite like this one, this ride kept my interest up the whole time trying to figure out Reginald Brooks and his families, and the sideline characters Justine, Roger, and Brent. I was really surprised how things turned out to be. Also, I feel that the author keeps you guessing about the characters and what they will do next. I especially wondered if Reginald would end up with Rene or Tracy. I was so sorry about his little girl though.

Summary: This is what makes reading good storytelling so darn good!
Review: Reginald Brooks has manipulated his way into a comfortable double life situation. It becomes not so comfortable for Reginald and he feels his days of successfully hiding both families from each other are numbered. He runs to his best friend for guidance as he has done for years, which contributed to his success in managing the double life. His friend's advice leads Reginald down a road that would bring most men to their knees in consequence.

My opinion of this book is very high. The pages HAD to be turned until the story was completed, and I still yearned to be told more about what happened after that still. The experience I had while reading it is what makes reading good storytelling so darn good.

Summary: The Great Pretender - Millenia Black
Review: I read this book on recommendation from several friends. I must say that I was not disappointed. All of the characters are portrayed in such a way as to really make you feel you are only feet away from their dramatic lives, and Black's writing enables you to really empathise with them even if you have never lived their dysfunctional lifestyles.

The plot is spicy and full of zeal, which makes it a real page turner, and I can't wait to get sucked into another one of her novels.

Summary: A World of Secrecy
Review: The characters in The Great Pretender were all living in some type of "pretender" world. When the main character makes his decision, the cards start tumbling down and this is very exciting to see the family members be affected by his choice and their own secrets. I recommend this novel. It's good reading.
