Summary: Even Better Second time around
Review: I LOVED this book.It was absolutely wonderful.Usually i'm dissapointed with the sequel, but this one, i couldn't put down.
This book has REAL personalities. Megan McCafferty just wrote so well, she said she wrote the book she always wanted to read.Funny thing is, this book is one that Everyone is always looking for,but no one wrote it...until now.It was nice to see someone writing what many teens actullay think, well at least me. And just like everyone else, I would love to see what would happen the third time around.Despite what other people may say, this book was Above and Beyond ANYTHING i have ever read. You WON'T be dissapointed.

Summary: A great book for any teen
Review: I loved "Sloppy Firsts" and I anticipated the release of "Second Helpings" with the hope that it would truly live up to its predecessor. I was knocked off my bed when I read "Second Helpings." I could relate so much to Jessica Darling and all that she was going through that I felt like Ms. McCafferty was writing the book about me! I have absolutely no complaints about this book except that I wish it never ended.

Summary: an amazing follow-up to sloppy firsts
Review: this book is seriously hysterical. i love her sarcastic humor, megan mcCafferty does an amazing job of capturing her inner voice.
i can't really put into words how much i enjoyed this book. i couldn't put it down, i read it non-stop for two straight days. i'd just sit and my living room and seriously laugh out loud, some of the things were just so funny.
this book deals with preparing for college, so if you're a senior in high school, you could definitely relate to this book!
BUY THIS BOOK!!!

Summary: Truly Amazing... Wow
Review: This book has changed my life. Seriously. I am an avid reader, so recently I have become quite picky and have raised my standards of the books that I read. I always want to make sure that I get my time's worth. Well let me just say that it was well worth it. I have fallen in love with this book, along with Sloppy Firsts. I have become totally and completely engulfed in the world of Jessica Darling. Never have I encountered a fictional character who seemed so... real. I understood her and I somehow felt her deep down inside of myself. I really identified with this girl, who speaks the truth and is so witty and intelligent stuck in a frustrating place where no one gets her. I sometimes feel like I am the only person in the world who has such feelings of angst, cynicism, and yet hopeless romanticism. This book gave me hope. Not only that I'm not all alone in this world, but also to be the person I want to be. The person I know I am. Believe it or not, I got all this out of reading these two books (Sloppy Firsts & Second Helpings). And now I can't get anything from them out of my mind. Or heart.

Summary: If you liked one hold on your in for another treat!
Review: I read Sloppy Firsts and Second Helpings both about a week. This book and the first are both so real and so easy to related to in so many ways its scary. Jessica Darling is a senior and just sooo confused as to who she is and were shes going as a person in her EXACT position it was wonderful to know everyone goes through it. Any teenage girl in high school should pick these two books up. It is an awesome book in al ways! Its full of amazing life lessons, and deep messages!!

Summary: So sad!
Review: I have given three stars to Megan McCafferty's "Second Helpings" as I was disappointed in the Jessica character for having gotten more vulgar and therefore less attractive since her "Sloppy Firsts" days.

I also hope that young female readers of "Second Helpings" use much better judgment than the "brainy" Jessica did when evaluating acceptable guys. Marcus has a well established history of exploiting girls by sexually "usin' then losin' em". One has to wonder just how many different STDs our high self-esteemed heartthrob has? Besides his not being smart enough to not get messed up on drugs.

Girls, read this book knowing that you can do so much better than our beloved Jessica.

Summary: Jessica Darling is a hit!
Review: On Monday I read Sloppy Firsts, barely able to put it down. On Wednesday I had the time to sit down with Second Helpings, which was another non-stop read. I had read excellent reviews for Second Helpings, but when I first started it, I couldn't get into the world of Jessica Darling. I had felt so connected with her at the end of Sloppy Firsts and now it was like I didn't know her!
But I kept reading, and quickly I realized that just because things had changed a little didn't mean that Jessica and I couldn't be friends like we had been before. This is another excellent book by Megan McCafferty: more adventures with the Clueless Two, some bonding with Bridget, Len Levy turned hottie, and (my personal favourite) Marcus Flutie. Guest appearances by former crush Paul Parlipiano and ex-friend Hy.
Make sure you've read Sloppy Firsts, and then please, go for Second Helpings!

Summary: Great Follow-up to the Sloppy Firsts
Review: I just, literally, finished Second Helpings and am at a loss for words. I must admit that before heading off to college last fall, I went to our local bookstore and picked out a number of novels. I only noticed Sloppy Firsts because I was intrigued by the title. It sat on my dorm room shelf for many months until I picked it up one day so that I would have something to read while on the bikes at the rec. AfterI started reading it, I wanted to go to the rec and work out for hours just so I could finish it. As cliché as it sounds, I couldn't put the book down once I started reading it. I felt connected to Jessica as a character. Her journal entries embody what all teens and even twenty-somethings go through. Things happen in our lives thatmay not seem significant to others, but they are significant to us. Teens are not always over dramatic, but rather just trying to survive life. I'm actually glad that I only stumbled on to Second Helpings after it came out. I don't think I could have dealt with the having to wait for months
until the much anticipated release date was upon me. I felt even more connected to Jessica after reading Second Helpings. Of course I was happy that her and Marcus finally got together, but I was more focused on the other aspects of her life. I could relate to the way she was looking forward to college as being a place where she would finally fit in. Or more than fit in, be herself. And I hope that a third book will provide an answer to whether or not Columbia was the right place for her. If you were to look through my journal over this past year, you would find the very same things in that you find in Jessica's journal.
Even though I want a third book about Jessica to come out so I can read more about what happens between her and Marcus or her and Hope, I want to know how her life is going. At the end of the book Jessica comes to aconclusion that a lot of teens never reach. She is who she is because of all the things she has encountered in her life. As she says, one left turn instead of a right and she may have turned out to be a completely different person. In the end Jessica, instead of bashing where she came from, embraces her school and her peers as the reason she is the person she becomes. Even more impressive is that she is finally happy with who she is. I think that with her knew perspective on life, it would be interesting to see what happens in her first year of Columbia and how those events shape the person she becomes. I'm HOPING for a third installment in the life of Jessica and I hope that just because she has graduated high school, she hasn't said all she can say. She says that Manda and Sara finally realize that high school is the best time of their lives, but I'm not sure she believes that. If anyone can do it, she can prove that there can be and is a happy life after high school!! There is life after prom queens, class gossips, bubblegum bimbos, and assembly-line meatballers.I'm looking forward to the possibility of more books about NOTSO!!

Summary: The best book I've read in my 14 years.
Review: I wish I could rate this book as higher than five stars because that is wat it truly deserves! Miss McCafferty outdid herself with this companion to Sloppy Firsts. Jessica is the character you can picture yourself as best friends with and Marcus as the perfect guy you wish you were with. I found myself trying to predict what would be happening next. Lots of things like Marcus's random T-shirts and the Pineville Low just keep making you try figure them out. I can only hope that Miss McCafferty will bless us with another one of Jessica's journals-so personal you feel like yourself is the one writing. Highly Recomended

Summary: Just a good as Sloppy Firsts
Review: I have been eagerly waiting Second Helpings since I read Sloppy Firsts. I was not disappointed! The book is just as good, maybe even better than the first. Jessica is a great character because she is normal. This book reminds me of my high school days. I could not put it down! 5 stars!
