Rating: 4 stars
Summary: A thought provoking masterpiece
Review: The only thing that kept me from giving this book a 5 star rating was the rather neat way Wally Lamb tied up all the loose ends in the last 25 or so pages of the book. It was just a little too contrived. However, if you disregard the last 25 or so pages and concentrate on the story told in the 870 or so preceding pages, you will find yourself engrossed in a book that made me laugh, cry, and most of all think about what Life is really all about.

Summary: I WAS DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS BOOK
Review: THIS IS A NOVEL THAT COULD'VE BEEN QUITE INTERESTING IF ONLY THE WRITER HAD FOLLOWED THRU WITH HIS CHARACHTERS AND THEIR PROBLEMS.IT WAS ALSO VERY "TALKY"...."HE SAID....AND SHE SAID" EVEN THE ENDING WAS NO REAL SURPRISE AND IT COMES AT THE VERY END....."SHE'S COME UNDONE" WAS SUCH A PAGE-TURNER IN COMPARISON.THE PLOT WAS VERY FAST PACED AS OPPOSED TO THIS 2ND BOOK OF LAMB'S.I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IT VERY HIGHLY.IT JUST KNID'VE DRAGS ON AND ON SO MUCH THAT YOU HOPE YOU'LL JUST FINISH IT AND GO ON TO SOMETHING ELSE.DOMINICK AND THOMAS DON'T SHOW THE CLOSENESS THAT TWINS ALWAYS HAVE GOOD OR BAD....AND THE STEPFATHER IS PORTRAYED AS SUCH A MONSTER THRUOUT THE BOOK UNTIL THE VERY END WHERE WE'RE SUPPOSE TO FEEL SOME "ANGST" FOR HIM AND EVERYONE ELSE IN THE NOVEL.THE PREMISE OF TWINS AND THEIR PHSYCHOLOGICAL PROBLEMS WAS A GOOD ONE...I JUST WISH IT COULD'VE BEEN PORTRAYED IN A LIGHTER,MORE MEANINGFUL WAY TO THE READER WITH FURTHER EXPLO! RATION OF THE DYSFUNCTIONS OF THE FAMILY INVOLVED.I FOUND IT MOROSE AND KIND'VE BORING.

Summary: Lamb has done it again
Review: Sweeping, gritty, harsh and beautiful. When I reached the final page, the tears flowed. I didn't want to leave these characters, and yet, the story was absolutely complete. Lamb is a gifted story teller. Mark my words: this book will one day win some actor an academy award nomination. (It's a given that someone will purchase the film rights.)

Summary: Outstanding
Review: First I was mystified that he could think like a woman in "She's Come Undone" and now he gets to the heart of mental illness and family problems with such honesty that it just amazes me. This book will impress you with its wit and sensitivity and those 900 pages go so quickly that you'll be wishing the book was twice as long. It's hard to put down.

Summary: Rage and Redemption
Review: Incredible book! I spent two days ignoring family, friends, and responsibilities totally absorbed in this book. With the depth of these characters developed by Wally Lamb, I felt like I was an "invisible observer" in the book with them. I could feel Dominick's agony about his feelings for Thomas, his mother and his stepfather. It would be impossible to live Dominick's life and not feel 24/7 rage yet his courage to seek relief is incredible. These characters will give readers "flash backs" from book scenes as they face the realities of "real life."

Summary: TRULY THE BEST BOOK EVER!!!!
Review: My husband said he would be glad when I finished so I would pay attention to him and our two small children. I told them they would have to wait!! This book was more important! It teaches you that no matter what, family is the greatest love you will ever know. It also teaches you that you need to love yourself first and understand your life and its past. The ending was the most memorable ending of any book I've ever read. It ended the way I hoped and prayed it would end. FULL OF HOPE AND LOVE!!!! Way to go Domenick and Wally!!!!

Summary: I found the book engaging and interesting.
Review: The story traces the life of Thomas, a twin who has a very dysfunctional family. I especially found the character of Ray interesting and was amazed it took Thomas so long to let his anger out at him.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Well developed characters I cared for, and missed at the end
Review: This story will hold your interest from it's start to it's conclusion. It is beautyfully written, well paced and a very good read. Mr. Lamb creates characters with so much reality to them, so much truth to their words and actions, that you sense that you are not reading a work of fiction but rather you are a fly on the wall watching people live their lives day to day, tragic, sad and heroic. I was saddened at the ending because I would be loosing touch with people I felt I knew and for whom I had cared.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: I couldn't put the book down but one thing bothered me...
Review: I read this book in record time for me and as I was reading it people would ask me if it was good. I kept saying I don't know yet. I was really into the book, but the sacrilegious dialogue in the book really bothered me. If Mr. Lamb had just left that out, I would highly recommend the book.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Like the spectacle of a traffic accident, you read on.
Review: While I preferred the subject matter of Wally Lamb's first book, She's Come Undone, I was not disappointed by his latest book, I know this much is true. Just as your interest is piqued by an accident by the side of the road, so is your curiousity aroused by this novel. At times, the novel is so disturbing you don't WANT to read it, but you just can't seem to put it down either.

Wally Lamb is a superb writer. His writing is both intelligent and thought-provoking. Somehow, the terror and travails his main character endures help put life in perspective. It makes you wonder if there are people out there who relate to the stuff he writes about. Like, I wouldn't want to suggest this book to somebody who has experienced mental illness or has had a miserable life -- it might hit too close to home.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and as long as your life isn't a complete wreck you should enjoy it too.
