Summary: the truth
Review: I heard about the book through a cousin. We started our own little book club first i read sister souljah's book then I read true to the game and from there be more carful and followed by let that be the reason . I thought the book was great better than great I enjoyed it very much and could not come out of it .It was real due to the fact that there are many single parents in this world that need that extra money and carmen was going to make it no matter what for the sake of her son . I must admit I got lost for a bit like her son's name was never revealed to the readers . Iam sorry she had to go down that way in the book because you don't hear of women starting this kind of bussiness or smugling drugs when I first started reading I told my sisters of starting my own escort service but they laughed I was very serious because I need that money as a single parent of two . I was touched really and no words can say how much I enjoyed reading the book until I can read it again . I look forward to the next book I hope that it will be as good as the first book. What happened to Chino , Delano was a trooper with her through think and thin and G-money that snitch . Keep me posted again Thank you for the book to those of us who read and God Bless you to contiue to write more and be successful in the book world

Summary: Let That Be The Reason You Buy It
Review: Synopsis: Let That Be the Reason is the first of a quasi-fiction trilogy based on the author's real-life experiences. Pamela Xavier is abandoned by her drug dealing infant son's father (Chino) with a stack of bills, no food in the 'fridge, and an impending eviction notice. With no job prospects, Pamela feels backed into a corner and decides to get her "hustle" on. As a female caught up in a male-dominated game, Pamela relies on her alter-ego, Carmen, to deal with the streets, playas, dealers, drug lords, and of course, the law.

In no time, Carmen is on top running a call-girl service, fencing operation, and drug cartel--and add to that, being a mom. With money on her mind and her mind on money, Carmen's hustle is taking the streets by storm but the ever-present danger brought on by the police and rival hustlers makes staying in the game perilous.

Carmen wants out the game but her powerful drug connect, Dragos, wants her in. If she stays in, the police will force her to implicate Dragos. Her love interest, Delano, a noble hustler, wants Carmen out the game at all costs. Her first love and father of her son, Chino, wants Carmen in the game so he can connect with Dragos. .

Carmen's made enough money and she wants out. But can she get out alive? And can she get out in time? Can Carmen, her infant son, and Delano live happily ever after? Vickie M. Stringer adroitly weaves fact and fiction and has written the most honest, provocative and compelling novel of the "Bad-Girl" genre--Let That Be the Reason. More honest than True to the Game, more provocative than Addicted, and more compelling than B-More Careful.

LET THAT BE THE REASON you read Vickie M. Stringer's debut novel--the remixed version.

Summary: Darren's review
Review: If you enjoyed 'The Coldest Winter Ever', 'True to the Game', or 'B-More Careful' then you will love 'Let That Be the Reason'. I read a variety of fiction, from urban romance & crime, to mainstream fiction by authors like John Grisham & James Patterson. I don't judge a book by whether or not it is a good "Black" story, I judge whether or not it is good period. I loved this book because it pulled me in to the story from the beginning and gave me a reason to care about what happened to Carmen (the main character). If a book makes you root for the heroine and despise the villains, as this one does ... it's a good book! As a matter of fact I read it in 2 days and e-mailed the author to let her know how much I appreciated her work.

Summary: Independant Woman!!!
Review: Reading this book definitely wants you to learn more about the character. Her triumph to overcome a broken heart, losing her hair salon & dealing with being a single mother. She somehow gets through it. I salute her!!!Vicki Stringer is an up and coming author...I can't wait to see what else is in stores for her fans and readers. A job well done...

Summary: Very Elementary!
Review: I'm sorry Ms. Stringer, but Let That Be the Reason was not believable at all to me and style of writing was more kidish than what I'm used to. The only thing I liked about this novel was the "self-love" message the author portrayed. Other than that, don't waste your money.

Summary: Great Book
Review: I read this book on a bus from New York to Georgia and finish the whole thing I could not put the book down I did not even hear the loud children on the bus. This a page turner.

Summary: unbelievable
Review: a friend of mine suggested I read this book. I had no idea abot what type of book it was, but figured it must be good because my friend has never really sat down and read a book. So, I sat down for a few minutes to read "Let That Be The Reason" and , before I knew it, I was about half way finised.

While I do not ordinarily read "gansta" type books, I was intrigued with "Let That Be The Reason" so much so that I read the sequel "Imagine This" the very next day.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This is what I call a good book.
Review: I haven't read anything like this in a long time. When I first picked up this book, I could not put it down. It really gets you from the first page to the last page. Ms. Vicki has it going on. You go girl keep up the good work and keep all of your wonderful novels coming because with them I know that I will never be bored again!!!!
