Review: I am disappointed that I purchased this book. I am usually the one who reads a book nonstop, without putting it down. This one, NOT! Ive had this book for almost a week now and I still havent finished it. Ive actually jumped a few chapters and just started reading Chino's return to her life hoping for a bit of excitement. I am a fan of African American authors and I support them all and give them credit where its due, but this book isnt all that. This is one time I can truly say I didnt agree with the reviews given by my fellow Amazon shoppers. I give this book a 1 out of 5.

IT IS ABOUT A WOMAN WHO HITS ROCK BOTTOM AFTER HER DRUG DEALINH BOYFRIEND LEAVES HER, SINCE HE TOOK EVERYTHING ALL SHE HAD WAS HER SON AND NOTHING ELSE. AFTER DOING LITTLE HUSTLES HERE AND THERE SHE WILL GET A HOOK UP WITH A FRIEND TO START DEALING DRUGS AND SHE BECOMES THE BIGGEST THING IN HER STATE UNTIL IT ALL FALLS DOWN ANS SHE IS LEFT WITH NOTHING AGAIN ALL SHE HAVE THIS TIME IS HER FAMILY THE BOOK IS NOT BAD AT ALL THE ONLY THING ABOUT IT THAT WAS SO SO WAS THE ENDING

Review: Learn the lesson. This story is well written. There was one moment where it seemed to drag, just a little, but then it picked up quickly. I hope readers will not overlook Carmen's statement concerning the difficulty of living the street life. Everyone is quick to say drug dealers want to make the quick, easy money. Carmen lets it be known, there's nothing easy about it. Spend a few hours with Ms. Stringer's book, you'll enjoy it whether you truly understand the lifestyle she depicts or not.

Review: This book was recommended to me by my co-worker, and when i read it, i couldn't stop reading it. It's a great read, I just didn't like because "Carmen" was still in love with "Chino" even after all the foul stuff he's done to her and still doing to her. I hope when the next book comes out, Ms. Stringer will have "Carmen" finally wake up and smell the coffee about her precious "Chino".

Review: Let That Be The Reason is an urban classic. I had the pleasure of meeting this author at a conference in Chicago where she was given a hard time about discussing the facts in her book. There were all sorts of hater's present. One Ms. Stringer is beautiful as she is talented. During her speaking event, she detailed the struggles she encountered to turn her life around. For those that don't like urban literature or complain about the way it is written, where in the your book at? Ms. Stringer is doing her thing and I take my hat off to her. I am so proud of you sister-girl and happy to have met you. Can not wait to read your next book. Keep puttin' them down with the pen.
