Rating: Summary: Not fit for adults Review: I'm sorry to say I bought this book based on the fact that it was on the best seller list and was suggestedto me through Amazon.com. I believe it's time to update my profile because there must be a rating that suggests I may have enjoyed this book. I'd be curious to find out what the average age of the readers of this book are. It was very immature. Not well written at all. As a matter of fact I didn't even finish the novel. I had maybe 50 pages to go and didn't give a rip how it ended. I donated it to the local thrift shop as I would have been too embarrassed to pass it on.
Rating: Summary: Beautifies the love/hate realtionships of best girlfriends Review: Read this book on the beach during vacation. All I can say is if you've ever had that special bond with a girlfriend..especially child/teenage years..then you will definitely love this. It made me remember things about my best girlfriend from high school that I hadn't recalled in years. Read this for pure enjoyment.
Rating: Summary: it was the best book I have read ever! Review: I am only 14 and I started this book because It looked not so boring and I really needed something to do. After the 10th page I was hooked! Before I knew it the clock read 4:30am and I was finished, a total of 5 hours to finish it. It was one of those books that just made you think
Rating: Summary: Incrediable...I couldn't put this book down!!! Review: This is the first book I have read by Judy Blume in her adult series. It was AWESOME! I read the whole book in two days. She draws you in and never lets you go! You will laugh and cry and relate to all of the main characters. IT IS A MUST READ BY JUDY BLUME!!
Rating: Summary: My God what a story.... Review: Judy Blume has always been able to tap into that inner teenager we all still remember. Summer Sisters totally reminded me of myself and a relationship I had with a "2nd" family. This book touched me in so many ways I cried at the end because I knew my time with these characters were over. Unfortunately I was on the subway! Hey this is NYC no one is considered crazy here! Love the book it is worth it's weight in gold!
Rating: Summary: Great book lives up to the Judy Blume standard Review: Great summer read I loved it. I cannot wait to read her next book. I grew up reading her books as a child. The book really made me reflect upon the friendships that I have in my life now.
Rating: Summary: Page turning, I couldn't put it down!!! Review: I haven't read a book this wonderful for a long time. I enjoyed the way the book had a chronological sequence from when the girls were young until they were older. It gave me a sense of life and it made me excited for the future and it also made me think about how you change as you get older. I couldn't put it down, even when I developed a crink in my neck.
Rating: Summary: Summers and friends to remember! Review: When I first began to love reading, Judy Blume was there. With Are You There God?.. It's Me Margaret, Otherwise Known As Sheila The Great, Tales Of A Fourth Grade Nothing, and others. Now, as an adult, she is still creating stories and characters that grab me! This book was wonderful. My heart went out to Vix, as I could identify with some of the stuggles she encounted with Caitlin. And in the end, I cried. I felt as tho I was 'IN' the story. Being carried along as a silent observer to their very different friendship. Whether or not you read Judy Blume as a child, you'll love her as an adult! At the very least you'll L-O-V-E this book!
Rating: Summary: A page-turner filled with fun characters Review: Let me put it this way--I finished the book in two days. Very readable, very interesting, quite a page-turner.I loved Blume's "Fudge" books when I was younger and wanted to read this book from the moment I saw it. I wasn't disappointed. Blume gives us a good story and fun characters to jump around the chapters with. Although I didn't become attached to any certain one, I find myself thinking about them now that I'm done with the novel. And Blume's ability to switch personas nearly every other page (the story follows Vix, but Blume gives us insight into different characters' minds as well) is well honed. It will keep you going till the end.
Rating: Summary: Couldn't put it down! Review: Like many others, I grew up reading Judy Blume books. However, this was the first adult Blume book that I read and I can't wait to read another one. I finished this book in less than 24 hours.
