Rating: Summary: What a great book! Review: Like others, i simply couldnt put this book down. I couldnt wait for the paperback so i bought the hardcover and it was definately worth it. The characters were extremely real and easy to relate to...especially for a teenager like myself...i have never read a book in a day but summer sisters was an exception. Overall it was a great book and i recommend it to anyone of any age!
Rating: Summary: It's so good, I thought I was living it myslef Review: Summer Sisters was a wonderful book. It kept my interest and i did not want to put the book down. I loved this book. i like how Blume goes through the book in stages of time. It makes it easier to understand where you are and how old everyone is. i liked the ending but it leaves you questioning, wondering what happened. Throughout this book, i felt like i was actually in the book, living it myself. This is my most favorite book i have ever read and i don't like to read. It kept me so interested, i would read for hours at a time.
Rating: Summary: This is really a Kids book Review: This book was marketed as Judy Blume for adults but ir really isn't. I read all of Judy Blume's books when I was kid and enjoyed them, so when this came out in paperback I thought I'd try it.Sadly, this book reminded me of Are You There God it's me Margret, with more sex. If Judy Blume really wants to write an adult book she has to do more than just throw in some sex to make it adult. She needs to challange her readers, this book challanges teens not adults!
Rating: Summary: Excellent read! Review: My friend recommended this book to me and I'm glad she did because once I started reading I couldn't put it down. I cried when the characters cried and laughed when they laughed. I can't wait to read another book by Judy Blume. This was fabulous!
Rating: Summary: My favorite book Review: At first I wasn't sure I would enjoy this book, but after reading the first few pages I was hooked. Watching everyone in Vix's life grow up and seeing who these characters become had me fully engrossed in this truly fantastic novel.
Rating: Summary: A good read Review: Well...it's been a long time since I picked up a novel by Judy Blume...I did grow up on some of her books for children..and whattaya know.. really had a good time reading this book. It's an easy read..the time just flows by and you know you have to read it until the end. The ending was a bit predictable, though.
Rating: Summary: One to read Review: I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I've read all of Judy Blume's books for adults and this book is by far the best of them all. I found Vix's character to be the most developed. Every thought and feeling she had was turned inside-out and really shed light into her character. Caitlin was described very well in the physical sense but her inner-self was really lacking. This book left with me with questions as to some of the character's motives. What was Sharky really about? Did Caitlin make up those stories about sleeping around or was it all a facade? Still a great read though.
Rating: Summary: Its a quick read, but it lacks a theme. Review: This book was a easy read. But there was no theme whatsoever in this book. There where three stages in the book doing and thinking about the same thing(Sex more than any meaningful relationship) as children, adolscent and Adult. The charactes depicted are not unique and we have come across them in several other books and movies.
Rating: Summary: An enjoyable read Review: I bought this book in an airport bookstore before the departure of my flight, and had finished it by the time I landed at my final destination. I couldn't put it down! I thoroughly enjoyed it. It comes highly recommended.
Rating: Summary: Total trash and not that great Review: I was hoping for something where the characters had even a shred of the depth and realism that they do in her books for teenagers. I was SOOO disappointed. This could have been a Cosmo mini-series.
