Summary: When do they eat?
Review: I LOVED this book. It is full of discrepencies to the point of being ridiculous, but who cares? It was marvelous escapist reading and I'd love to see this on film. Every "what in the world is going to happen next" gets more and more implausible and unbelievable. They get so wild, out there, and unpredictable, you'll crave more and more. Sheer joy to let the mind go wandering like that. This book will make you feel upbeat and superhuman as you become the main character yourself, battling the bad "good" guys. Great for the beach or that 13 hour flight. Written by someone only 23 years old, we've got a LOT to look forward to when he gets REALLY good! My only question is, with all that action you'd think the characters would be starving. When do they eat?

Summary: Ice Station was great!
Review: I found this book to be an action packed, non-stop thriller and I hope everyone out there gets a chance to read it. The way Matthew Reilly organizes the different plot strands is incredible and my predictions for the ending kept changing and changing. He does a wonderful job of fooling you until the very last possible portion of the book. The research put into it added an air of realism to a book that needed it. That is the only problem I found with Ice Station....Reilly's ideas are a bit far-fetched, but I promise thats the last thing you will think of when you are fighting off giant monsters in an underground ice cave. Read it and enjoy.

Summary: A farfetched entertaining read.
Review: Dirk Pitt, Indiana Jones, James Bond and Rambo all rolled into one super human marine. The story gets going from page one and does not let up for an instant. Even though it was one of the most preposterous stories I have read in a long time it was tough to put down, could not wait (or guess) the next incredible turn the story would take. Does not take any thought to get through, it was just plain fun. Maybe Scarecrow will turn up in a sequel with his old friend Trent and destroy half the world by themselves!

Summary: AWSOME BUT NOT REALL!
Review: The most fun to read book I have read in a long time.I truely recomend it, but if u get anoid with imposible scenarios it may not be for u. I also recomend Temple by Mathew Riely as a fun and fast book which is much more research

Summary: I cant even give it 1 star.
Review: This was the worse book I have ever read! A couple of US Marines taking on 50 SAS Soldiers? HO HO HO.. What more can I say?

Summary: The best fiction book I've read
Review: This book was a amazing, thrilling book about a US Marine team that goes to Anartica to investigate a possible alien landing. I hope the author wrotes another with the same characters becuase they were excellant. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good action read.

Summary: Fast furious action - enough Ammo to make Rambo blush.
Review: If you're into fast 'Die Hard' type action fests Ice Station's got them in heaps. It's get go from page 1 all the way; and all the fights, gunplay and breakneck chases are quite reminiscent of Bruckheimer and John Woo movies.

Reilly's got very good engaging prose that keeps you hooked all the way to the end; I like his style - there's never any long stretches of boring background bits that I find so common with some of the 'masters' these days

So ..Get it if you're an adrenaline junkie. But please avoid it if you're into artsy fartsy bloated prose - it wont go down with your cup of latte that I promise you sir :-)

Well done Matthew!

Summary: Don't try this at home...
Review: I found this book a vivid page-turner. Other readers have criticised some of the factual content and feasibility, but this is no reference manual - just sit back and hold tight! Matthew Reilly kept this book fast-paced and the plot literally writhes with incredible, immensely enjoyable, cascades of action.

An easy read, my only regret is that the book was flipped out of my hands by the automatic train-doors at Clapham Junction when I was 30 pages from the end...

The film that follows can only aspire to the book from a distance.

Summary: Wow...
Review: It ain't great literature, but it will make great cinema.

I just finished "Ice Station," and I am very impressed. Matthew Reilly has written a good, solid adventure thriller that is incredibly fast-paced and satisfying. This is one of those books where if you stop and think about what's happening, you break the spell entirely. Best to just go with the flow, suspend your disbelief, and enjoy the ride.

I look forward to the inevitable motion picture!

Summary: "Die Hard" on Ice
Review: If you want the reality of physics, check out a text book. The book takes you on a Bruce Willis/Die Hard ride. The escapes are too fantastic to be real, the coincidences are unbelievable, and the book is almost too much fun. I'm awaiting word of the movie rights. Put one of the recent James Bond Soutntracks on the stereo, pick up the book, and enjoy the ride.
