Review: This group ought to be considered, along with the ACLU, a domestic terrorist organization. >>>>>>>>>

Neo-Nazi scumbags like this guy hate the truth. The truth is, the ACLU exists for just one reason, to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America. Anyone who is against the ACLU is also against the Constitution and is an enemy of America.

I don't agree with every position the ACLU takes, like defending the Vulgar Junkie PigBoy Limpbaugh but I will stand by their decision to do so.

MoveOn.org is a patriotic group, whose main effort right now is to expose the criminal Bush Administration.

Summary: Illegal fundraising for John Kerry
Review: For those in berkeley that prefer to deny or ignore the times that we are facing. A bunch of extremist and intolerant individuals that only recognize those who agree with their liberal-fascism.

Summary: The Socialist's Guide To Forcing Your Agenda on Others
Review: It is incredibly obvious that the liberals immediately flock to Amazon after a liberal book is released to immediately pump up the scores on it. Their agenda is to deceive people into thinking the material is mainstream thinking instead of radical, socialist agenda. Isn't it funny that every liberal review is seen as "helpful" while every conservative review is vilified? Likewise, they flock to the conservative books and immediately lambaste them so they appear less helpful or informative.

What a surprise!

Let's face it folks...these people are not like the rest of America. Instead of going to work, providing for a family and contributing to a healthy society they seem to have all the time in the world to push their agenda. Why do you think that is? Is it because they either have NO LIFE or they are independently wealthy and do not work for a living? (NO, they couldn't be wealthy...because wealthy people are typically to blame for every little thing that doesn't go well for the liberals.) However, the dirty little secret that MoveOn.org doesn't like to share is that EXTREMELY wealthy socialists in America fund them. Theirs is not so much a "grass roots" campaign that is funded by the "common man" as it is for a group of powerful liberals to have an outlet for their political maneuvers.

They are DECIEVERS...pure and simple.

Remember, folks, these are the same people who know they cannot get society to vote for their bent ideas so they get liberal judges to "read into" the Constitution ideas and concepts that the founding fathers would never support. (Heck, these are the same people that are pushing public schools to use the term "founding framers" instead of "founding fathers" because the term "fathers" is too sexist and politically incorrect for them.) Yeah, these fools are the ones who wrote this book.

So, are you going to let them brainwash you as well? Are you cattle or are you're an American with a brain? Buying this book would definitely translate into the cattle pen with the rest of these losers.

Summary: It's somewhat rare...
Review: "It's somewhat rare to see an entire grassroots political organization listed as the author of a book"

... because most authors have the nerve to put their name on it. It's just a way to spout hate and get away with it.

Summary: moveon.suck
Review: I read this book and it confirmed my beliefs that moveon.org is nothing more than a group of neo-communist scum. They stand for everything indecent and wrong with the USA. This group ought to be considered, along with the ACLU, a domestic terrorist organization.

Summary: Political Activism, the MoveOn Way
Review: Founded a few years ago as a response to the effort to impeach Bill Clinton, MoveOn.org is a liberal activist group that maintains a strong on- line presence and provides advice to those who want to get involved in the political process and work for change. This book- the first one published by the organization- is comprised of a collection of articles submitted by MoveOn members, explaining how they got involved and how they succeeded (and sometimes failed) in making a difference.

The book includes fifty different stories divided into five areas: connecting through the internet, exercising one's privilege to vote, working with the media, getting involved personally, and getting involved politically. The articles themselves are short and to the point, ranging in length from one to three pages each. MoveOn.org members do not waste time and/or space in this book. They quickly explain what they did and how they did it.

Some of the stories presented in this book are interesting and creative, showing some surprising ways to help work for political change. Others are more mundane and ordinary, and don't really explain anything new and exciting. The editors of this book decided on this set of fifty stories based on inspiration, ease of application to anyone, creativity, etc. I found that some of the stories were actually pretty good, while others (like attending a rally) were pretty dull and didn't really inspire me much at all.

To help readers gain a better understanding about what an activist should do, each story includes a gray- shaded area with additional "MoveOn tips"- a bulleted list of ideas to take with you on your way to your next activist activity. The tips relate to each individual story and they summarize some important things to think about when you begin your political task.

MoveOn is a liberal organization and its members believe in a collectivist ideology that primarily favors Democrats and other progressives. But readers who are more conservative shouldn't let this fact get in the way of reading this book. The reason I say this is because the tips, the ideas, and the personal stories included here are things that can be applied to anyone, regardless of political affiliation. No matter what political banner you might carry, there is still some valuable advice to be found in the pages of this book.

"50 Ways to Love Your Country" includes some inspirational stories with some good ideas for activism, blended together with some ordinary, boring methods for making your mark in politics. Not every story is a successful one. There are some stories where the ultimate goal was not achieved. But even in these cases, MoveOn.org members learned valuable lessons about the political process and what is involved in working for political change. It makes for a useful read (and a quick read) for anyone interested in political activism.

Summary: Effective, non-partisan advice
Review: Clearly, some of the "reviewers" who've posted haven't bothered to even skim the book. The advice given in the book is accurate and effective, and most is simple enough that anyone can find the time to take some of the steps outlined.
As for the so-called liberal slant of the book -- hogwash. These ideas work no matter where you fall on the political spectrum. Not a single political position is endorsed or refuted in the book. In fact, if the author wasn't listed as MoveOn, readers would have no idea this is allegedly for "lefties."

Summary: Freedom Works--Force Doesn't
Review: This book would be more accurately titled "50 Ways to Force Your Opinions on Others While Wasting Precious Time".

America's Constitution was written to give everybody individual freedom. This book was written to abolish that thought and replace it with collective thinking, followed immediately by new legislation. First of all, it's all about what you can do to get the government to do for you; connecting with other political activists, learning how to get petitions signed, e-mailing your representatives, organizing a protest march, attending rallies, making political statements with art and fashion, taking a job in government, meeting with your Senator or Congressman, etc., etc.

There is nothing in this book that isn't political. And therein lies the fallacy of the left. The left believe that Government is all-important, and the right believe it is the individual and freedom.

To love your country Moveon wants you to be totally involved in the political process. All your time and energy should be devoted to politics, and getting others to think like you. Yet that is not the method that made this country great. This country became great by innovative thinkers who invented better products or ways to do something that benefited the vast majority of mankind. From the light bulb to the automobile to the Internet, all were created by Americans. They used their time and energy to CREATE things, instead of using their time and energy to COMPLAIN about things. Yet this is exactly what Moveon wants everyone to waste their time and energy on; complaining. Not very productive. SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE ARE NOT WHINERS. The only people who whine are losers. And if they continue to whine, they continue to be losers, and unhappy ones at that. Because that is how life works.

Moveon talks about the "needs" of citizens...I ask, since when did that become the government's business or duty? If I "need" a new car I do not petition the government to buy me one. But that is an easy example. What about when it's a big thing? How about clean beaches? If you take Moveon's suggestions, you would connect with others who don't like trash on the beach, organize them into a political activist group, participate in a protest march, petition the government to make a law about it replete with cleanup costs, and encourage others to only vote for those candidates who agree with your position. Whew, a lot of demanding to do, and after years of political maneuvering, debating and voting, the trash is finally removed from the beach at a cost to taxpayers in the millions. Not only that, but now the GOVERNMENT is in charge of keeping the beaches clean forever. That's another multi-million dollar project to fund.

Would it not be just as effective to use the time, energy, and people to organize volunteer clean-up groups? Perhaps get the Boy Scouts, or Girl Scouts to include Beach Clean-up as a merit badge, thus providing on-going clean-up efforts across the country. Now the beaches are clean, children have learned invaluable positive lessons about the environment, and taxpayers have a few more dollars to spend on something else that will grow the economy. All done without the government or politics involved at all. Creative individuals working in freedom beats government intervention every time.

This book wants you to feel bad that everyone doesn't think like they do, then use your time, energy, and money to try to force the issue to change, resulting in more government power to dictate how we should live our lives. Individual freedom ALLOWS a diversity of thought, which results in being more creative, more productive, and feeling a whole lot better.

If you want to Love your country, use the money that you would have spent on this book and laugh with your child while having an ice cream cone. It will make you and your child feel good, as well as help the economy. You will also learn more about LOVE.

Summary: Excellent Book for ideas on being Politically Active
Review: This is an excellent book, whether you lean on the conservative or liberal end. While the examples on it do lean towards the democratic ends of things, the ideas can be applied for just about anything politically. I highly recomend this book if you are wondering what you can do in 2004 to get the candidate you support to be elected. I will be keeping around my copy of this book, and I'm going to be using many of the ideas in this book to help the candidates I support to be elected, all the way from the state congressional level, to the presidental race. The introductions by Al Gore, and other high profile Democratic politicians are excellent, and adds to the book. I first learned about this book in an email from MoveOn.org, and I knew just then after reading some of the reviews here, that I had to get it. I loved it! I highly recomend this to anyone who is looking for ideas to be politically active. This book can help anyone who wants to be politically active in 2004, and is willing to give it thier time.
