Summary: In Your Face Reality
Review: I love the leftist liberals who pan this book on Amazon.com. Please continue to bury your head in the sand to the coming reality that your radical and seditious protests and vulgar Bush bashing will sweep W back into office.
Kerry can't win because Michael Savage's book and radio program is gaining steam and we will steamroll your seditious "candidate" into oblivion. Middle America will not vote your way because all you want to do is annihilate our way of life and we won't let that happen.

Leftists are now out in the open, exposed is their only offers of thought and that is hate, intolerance to opposing views, and lack of respect for freedom.

Read it and weep libby's you will be out of power forever.

I love it!

Summary: Conservatism and the doom¿s day
Review: Michael Savage will never mature intellectually. In this book, as well as in his other books and his radio talk, he persistently resorts to exaggeration and vulgarity to dramatize his bizzare thoughts. Those who differ with his way of thinking are labelled "idiots", "liberals", "maniac",..., etc. His views of the world issues are gloomy and expose a dark side of an immature adult. The center of his thoughts seems to revolve around homosexuality, God, suicide, death, destruction, perversity, and psychosis.

His books are always written in large fonts with sparse paragraph lines, which all add to the superficiality of his presentation. His radio talk is erratic, stressed, and loud, yet diminishes his ability to communicate a rational sequence of thoughts. When he follows Bob Grant, on his three hours talk show, he presents a perfect companion to a defiant, yet obselete dinosaur. Both radio hosts are old, obsessed with radical thoughts, and stuck to their guns, inspite of the clear reality of change of time.

I wonder, if Mr. Savage has other career alternatives to earn living other than continuing is such trail of hysteria and nonsense.

Summary: Patriotism, the last refuge of a scoundrel (Stanley Kubrick)
Review: Mr Savage might not understand, but even his right to vote for the candidate of his choice, and his right to express himself, are circumscribed. He can only do what he wants if he follows the party line. Step out of line, and hey! Off came his head.
Yes, the USA is a democracy, and have free speech, but that does not mean that anyone should make use of them. If we start using them, well, then we must make laws to limit them, would we not?

Summary: If you can stifle your laughter
Review: This guy is good for a laugh, but he's more likely to infuriate you.

I don't know where to begin with this guy. He has taken right wing talk radio to a new level, a new level so absurd it shouldn't deserve comment.

Who is this guy? Who is Michael Savage to tell anyone about 'Saving America'? The real enemy within is within Michael Savage. There is so much self-hatred dripping out of this book, and out of the airwaves, it's really something.

Savage is perhaps the extreme end of this, right past Ann Coulter, another entertainer. His primary tool is hatred. Everything here, even well-meaning points, is ulimately clouded by hatred.

The vitriole falls right in line with similar, vulgar propaganda. What's the best way to get people to listen? Why, incite hatred and rage, of course. Savage has studied some of the most significant propaganda of the last century, I'm sure, right from the MoI to Goebbels to modern cable news. The man is, after all, a professional.

Just go to his website and check out his '8 Point Plan' for America from 'The Paul Revere Society'. Everything there plays right into the minds of people who think 'we're giving the country away', 'we're being overrun by gays and foreigners', and similar sentiments that often coincide with a 'Leave it to Beaver' picture of America that never existed. Notice the number one issues is 'traditional marriage', since Savage saves a particular large dose of vitriole for gays. Notice there is nothing on that list speaking about the actions of corporations and governments that operate with less scrutiny and are slowly but surely shaping how you live your life. But no, it's gays, it's foreigners, and it's probably Bill Clinton, too.

The easiest thing to do is wrap yourself up in the flag, say you're a patriot, and then repeatedly blast your opponents, hammer away at them (with flat-out hate speech) and then claim that YOU'RE under siege.

I would not recommend buying anything this man has penned. I would peruse this in a bookstore, because about ten minutes of his most choice rants will suffice. You know what you're getting, you can see right through it. I would recommend this to anyone studying propaganda.

Summary: We Love Straw Men
Review: We love straw men. Twist a man's words and take them out of context. Then you can live in a fantasy world.

And throw away critical thinking. You can't do that. Only the government can think for you. Only the government can save you. History bears witness.

Summary: conservatism equals fascism
Review: A specter is haunting the Benighted States, the specter of fascism. It is insidious. It cloaks itself in the language of righteousness. It offers simple answers of doctrine and decree. It calls itself conservatism and it is the enemy of every thinking being. If you, gentle reader, would be beguiled into believing the skewed diagnoses of Herr Doktor Savage, then indeed, the day fast approacheth when democracy, as it has existed in its ignoble form in our country, will utterly fail.

Read this book for the same reason you would read Mein Kampf; to gain some insight into how hatred can rule an ostensibly intelligent person, to perhaps understand how hatred is capable of reducing a human to a baseness that it is not rivaled by the lowest insect.

This is not good political diagnosis. In his hubris against the Left, Savage opens the door for totaliitarianism, one cannot have dialogue when one or more of the participants are screaming. Savage uses the rhetoric of warfare. The man must have enemies in order to define himself. He is clearly psychotic and this undermines his vision.

The Left must unite against such mentality. They must rally all of humanity in a final rejection of those pundits whose solutions are fueled and informed by hateful ideologies.

The fascists will bring us war, as they have ever done, and then it will be up to us, the ones who weren't "patriotic", the ones who bothered to question and even oppose the decisions of our government who will pick up the pieces of what once was a somewhat optimistic Republic.

Summary: Assault Checked
Review: Although Michael Savage has hit the nail on the head indentifying liberal lies, the fallacious thinking of the leftists and outright evil, he missed the solutions. The half-hearted solutions are of little benefit as they're as equally bizzarre as the practice they are designed to curb. For example, traitors should be jailed and transexuals should be institutionalized.
Using God as a vague reference origin for his belief system, he fails to explain how his "solutions" actually do anything than contribute to the problem of over taxation or more bureaucracy. Although Michael comes across as sincere, no foundation is given for why he comes to the conclusions he does. It becomes obvious he's guilty of the same illogical thinking of his enemies; "...judging by thine own standard."
The Enemy Within has facts and many quotes and one cannot doubt what's being said as it's perfectly documented. Anyone who's a regular listener of his show won't need to read the book as most of it is all recycled material.
The Enemy Within lacks chronology. The book starts with introducing the problems and instigators thereof. In the end, Michael's only solution is to basically, just vote. This seems comical since voting has gotten America into the situation he claims can be resolved by doing just that. Circular reasoning aside, the book feels half full. Instead of introducing the problems, antagonists and then finding the roots and offering a solution that is fresh, he does only about first half of this.
Personally, I didn't find the book very helpful. It felt amatuerish overall, something one wouldn't expect from an experienced author. There's no beggining or end to the book; possibly on purpose to leave a sequel? I love conservative writing and thinking, however this book was one that was really disapointing.

Summary: Psychological Nudity
Review: Warning! To read this book is to expose oneself to adult language, adult content, and psychological nudity. Reader Discretion Advised...

So begins Michael Savage's second book, "The Enemy Within", with the same raw and unchained energy that makes his daily radio show one of the best in history. Just as with his first book "The Savage Nation", "The Enemy Within" is wrought with an epileptic, brazen prose unique to Michael Savage who might well have been a famous poet or novelist in an earlier era.

With reckless abandon, Savage stands up to the enemies within America - the red diaper doper babies, the stench from the bench that's making him clench, the Demoncats, the Hollywood Idiots, and other perverse elements of American society. With an explosive passion and rapier-like wit, Savage will make you mad... he'll make you laugh... he'll light a fire in your gut to go take back your nation!

With chapter titles like "Courts: Stench from the Bench", "Morality: The Bible Belt vs. The Libel Belt", and "Colleges: Houses of Porn and Scorn", this book is far from boring. As with his previous book, I tore through "The Enemy Within" in under a day. The book is that good. It's genuinely original political commentary.

Few radio and television personalities translate well into book form. Often, some element of success from their chosen medium is left out or unable to work itself into the written language. This is not true with Michael Savage. This is a man who is just as entertaining, inspiring, and energetic in the written language as he is on the airwaves. Non-timid Americans would do well to read his book...
