Summary: Savage Solutions
Review: Excellent points raised, though I can't agree with all. Extreme talk from the right without solid thought out solutions is lacking, and overall harmful to the very issues Michael is trying to bring to the attention of his audience. Substantiated facts, dates, and documentation are also short. As a Independent Conservative, I find much on the mark. However, I feeel his "society" goes a little too far to the right for my taste - and would be happy to expound on those points of weakeness with Michael, as they serve to limit his possible audience. I don't think he's hard enough on some of our "so called" Conservatives in office and their lack of backbone. I'd hate to see him turn into a character like "the other" Radio host - that fat two-faced phoney pill popper! Remember Michael -Power corrupts, and asolute power corrupts - absolutely (just ask Rush, Jerry Falwell, or Jim Baker - to name a few who made it on radio).

Summary: For those of us who still believe
Review: in the sacred country of our Founding Fathers and Dr. Savage's borders, language & culture, THESE ARE THE TALKING POINTS. Run with them and God's speed.

Summary: This is good book.
Review: This is good book. I is conservative. I like to read. Bill Clinton is bad man. I don't like him. He does bad things. George Bush is good. He does good things. I vote for him. I is conservative. I like to read.

Summary: Don't allow them to divide us!
Review: Let's stop the hate! Mike Savage may rant and rave at least he shows his passion. Don't be boxed in as a Dem or Rep. For god sake, what ever happen to doing what's right and morality.

Summary: What Comes After the Best Education in America
Review: I will confess, I have some empathy with Dr. Savage (Michael A. Weiner, Ph.D.). I too am recently descended from immigrants (paternal I know more about). And, I grew up believing in the education system in America, and that through hard work, adhering to traditional values, one could embark upon the American Dream. In my time, however, that dream has soured considerably.

I first became most aware of this after earning my doctorate at another prestigious University, and finding many options closed to me, the trained scholar-scientist. Then, I happened up Dinesh D'Sousa's "An Illiberal Education." Since my alma mater turned out to be one of the leading institutions working behind the scenes to deconstruct the "Canon" of the important works of Western Civilization, and replace them with the study of "equally significant" works from other parts of the world, I saw the underpinnings of American traditions crumbling under my feet. My dissertation advisor had cautioned that I would be subjected to scholarly and ad hominem attacks by those wishing to see if I had "clay feet." However, even he, quite a renaissance figure in his own right (and therefore anathema to modern liberal education), did not forsee what was coming.

Dr. Savage has seen it, and clearly. Some who listen to him on the radio, or read his recent works, may be surprised to find that the origins of the destruction of American Civilisation lie in the leftist, communist, fellow-traveling figures of the 1930s, but it does not surprise me. One only need study the history of the State Department during Franklin Roosevelt's administration, or in Truman's, and the likes of John Foster Dulles, to find the origins of the destruction of our civilization go back even further, to Woodrow Wilson, and those who would make that Princeton professor King.

Dr. Savage does some preaching to the choir here, and a glossary might have been helful for the Tenderfeet (e.g. RDDB--Red Diaper Doper Babies...."the stench from the bench is making me clench"). These are minor issues. The strength of the work lies in his fine analytical mind, and ability to lay out for the reader his main theses--summarized in the words "Borders, Language, Culture." To wit -- without firm national borders, a common language (English), a common culture (American) -- this nation will no sustain itself through the current crises and the crises to come.

Dr. Savage knows the Socratic method well...just listen to an exchange with a caller on a radio broadcast (I believe he is currently 3rd in the number of radio stations in the U.S. carrying his 3 hour show from San Francisco, the ground central of the collapse of our society, he might say). If you cannot think clearly, you may be hung up on. Rude, you say? In my training, I was told that one must hold firm to a didactic position in order to embark on any fruitful dialogue. You must know and choose your adversaries well. In this, Dr. Savage makes clear where he stands. Yet, he can still wax nostalgic about meals in his mother's kitchen in the Bronx, or let us in on his private dialogue with the members of the North End Italian Club in Boston -- a neighborhood with which I'm also familiar, and I have spent many an evening in similar neighborhoods around the country. Would that there were more of them remaining! Yesterday, even Veterans Stadium in Philadelphia, just south of one of our greatest communities of Italian heritage, crumbled under the drive for "progress." Well, Pilgrim, it isn't all progress. However, let no one ever doubt--we are all Americans first.

Can America be saved? The assault on many fronts is well entrenched. I don't really know, nor could I predict. Yesterday I went in to a local Austin bookstore, not a national chain, and could not find a single copy of this best seller on display. If you believe we are in a fight for the preservation of our civilisation, then you are part of a silent majority that must begin to speak louder--louder than listening to a radio show, whose ratings engender an incessant barrage of inane commercial interruptions. We need to get serious. Dr. Savage's "Paul Revere Society" could be such a vehicle...however, more Americans will need to wake up and hear, of the midnight ride of Paul Revere. The enemy is already on our sacred soil.

Read this Book! Sofort! We could have been speaking German...do you want to be speaking...well?

Summary: Nothing but the FACTS but still fun to read!!!!!!!!!
Review: Michael tells it like it is. He spouts facts, not rhetoric. I guess if I had to boil the book down to 10 main facts, these are the ones he presents!!

1. The liberals are our destruction. They foster terrorism and direct it. They want to destroy the American government and our people. This plan must be blocked.

2. There are no distinctions between liberals. Each liberal is a sworn enemy of the American people. If he does not make his hostility plain, it is only from cowardice and slyness, not because he loves us.

3. The liberals are to blame for each American soldier who falls in this war. They have him on their conscience, and must also pay for it.

4. If someone wears the Democratic donkey, he is an enemy of the people. Anyone who deals with him is the same as a liberal and must be treated accordingly. He earns the contempt of the entire people, for he is a craven coward who leaves them in the lurch to stand by the enemy.

5. The liberals enjoy the protection of our enemies. That is all the proof we need to show how harmful they are for our people.

6. The liberals are the enemy's agents among us. He who stands by them aids the enemy.

7. The liberals have no right to claim equality with us. If they wish to speak on the streets, in lines outside shops or in public transportation, they should be ignored, not only because their are simply wrong, but because they are liberals who have no right to a voice in the community.

8. If the liberals appeal to your sentimentality, realize that they are hoping for your forgetfulness, and let them know that you see through them and hold them in contempt.

9. A decent enemy will deserve our generosity after we have won. The liberal however is not a decent enemy, though he tries to seem so.

10. The liberals are responsible for terrorism. The treatment they receive from us is hardly unjust. They have deserved it all.

It is the job of the Department of Justice to deal with them. No one has the right to act on his own, but each has the duty to support the state's measures against the liberals, to defend them with others, and to avoid being misled by any liberal tricks.

The security of the state requires that of us all.

Summary: It may make children sit still for a little bit longer
Review: Savage is describing a social shift in the way we view ourselves and our fellow human beings. We are increasingly inclined towards a view of weak-willed and damaged individuals who cannot be held responsible for our own actions. Savage explains these developments partly on the basis of the inherent limitations of liberal democracy - but also as a result of neuropharmacological developments. The use of Ritalin and Prozac, he believes, should be a warning to us about the potentially dramatic changes to our very nature that the unrestrained development of biotechnology might effect.

Summary: Every American should read this book
Review: Savage tells it like it is. This is an excellent book especially for recent college grads who have no idea as to the extent of thier socialist brainwashing.

If you're looking for a book that will forever change the way you view the world - look no further. This is it!

Summary: I had to give ith three stars-it was funny in a sick way
Review: This man is soooo crazy. He writes of an idealized, fictional past. He equates any inkling of a desire to not have the rest of the world hate America to communism. He is just nuts! If he didn't have a radio show, he would one of those homeless people you see screaming at nothing on the street.
....and it is entertaining. I will give it that much. If you want a real, though provoking, right leaning book-go with O'Reilly. I think he needs to get out of San Fran; why a man who honestly feels the way he does continues to live there is BEYOND me. It is a very different part of the country, maybe he wouldn't be so pissed off if he lived in a more representitive part of the country, where liberals are compassionate and so are conseratives..they are just tighter with purse strings and seem to enjoy hunting.

Summary: Much better than his first book-- clearer, more evidence
Review: I have always been a big fan of Savage and have enjoyed hearing his points of view. However,I thought his first book, the "Savage Nation," was poorly written and organized. That book was a continuous ramble and repitition of his views, leaving me bored halfway through. On the other hand, this book was well-organized, with each chapter dealing with a different issue, and was far less repetitive. Unlike the biased review from Amazon.com (see above), I felt like Savage's claims and theories were backed by a more than adequate amount of evidence, probably more evidence than the theories in Franken and Moore's books. Overall, I highly recommend this book to any conservative looking to further reinforce his views, and to any liberal so they know where the guy is coming from. This is one of the best conservative books I've come along in quite awhile. Others include "Let Freedom Ring," by Sean Hannity, and "The Death of the West," by Pat Buchanan (I disagree with many of Buchanan's opinions, but he's righton the money in that book).
