Rating: Summary: A BUNCH OF MESS Review: MICHAEL SAVAGE IS A JOKE.. HIS BOOK IS AT MERE BEST A ATTEMPT TO ACQUIRE LISTNERS AND READERS BY PLAYING TO PREJUDICES OF AMERICA. FOR THIS MAN TO CALL HIMSELF A TRUE AMERCIAN, YET REFUSES TO ACCEPT ANYONE WHO DOES NOT AGREE WITH HIS CONCEPT OF LIFE. MOST FRIGHTENING IS THAT HIS VIEWS ARE DIVISIVE AT BEST AND CREATE FEAR AND HATRED AMONG AMERICANS. IN POST 911 WE NEED MORE UNITY AND LESS FRICTION AS CAUSED BY THIS BOOK AND HIS SHOW. IT IS A SAD DAY IN AMERICA WHEN THE VIEWS OF A SHOCK JOCK ARE EMBRACED BY MIDSTEAM AMERICA.
Rating: Summary: Okay, I'll take the middle... Review: If you weed out a lot of the rhetoric and sarcasm and really get to his point Savage makes a good one. I agree with his point that the left has just gotten toooo cute in this country. However, while he seems briliant at times at what he does, there seems to be gaps in his knowledge. For example, his views on social sciences and psychology. He throws the baby out with the bath water, a basic, extreme, either/or, approach is just not healthy for people suffering with mental issues in this country. Research is not as concrete like chemistry, but is getting close (e.g., look current brain imaging studies). We should not be ashamed our past, however, and he is right. He is a soldier...sorry, I mean Colonel... at leading this debate. ...
Rating: Summary: Self-promotion by an intellectual featherweight Review: And this is from someone who agrees with 95% of his positions. This isn't a book in any significant sense. It is poorly considered, unsupported, and largely incoherent. Simply an extended rant. But what works in an AM drive, does not a book make. Try again, Michael, you old cuss.
Rating: Summary: Perfect for Fed up Middle America Review: If you are an independent thinker who actually understands the many ills that have befallen our country you will appreciate this book. Since reading it I have listened to his program a dozen times. He is eccentric, but very intelligent and right on the money with the all the main points. When you take the time to understand how he communicates, he will grow on you. These two books are also amazing if you want some information on how history is being distorted these days: All our children in Junior High should read Paul Johnson's "History of the American People" and in 12th grade Jacques Barzun's brilliant "From Dawn to Decadence: 500 Years of Western Cultural Life".
Rating: Summary: The rantings of a sick demagogue... Review: The hate that's expressed in this book is embarassing.Take a shower after you read this.
Rating: Summary: No citations and short on facts, but . . . Review: this is still a great book. Savage moves at a quick pace in denouncing those that he feels are bringing this country down. Those with a weak constitution and those that are easily offended should probably steer clear. On the other hand, I think fans of Ann Coulter will love this book.
Rating: Summary: Just another socialist in republican clothing Review: Savage touches on the right ideas; only to lose them in a mishmash of poorly reasoned rants. Yes, socialism is ruining this country but Savage has no idea why. Hey he is still doing better than most of America, but the answer to modern Euro-Socialism is not old style National Socialism (remember those guys)? Anyone who thinks immigration is ruining this country ought to turn in his capitalist card. It doesn't matter where you are from, or what color you are. It's all about how hard you work and good you live your life. The Clintons were born here and go to Church every Sunday and they have done way more damage than the guys from India, Egypt and Mexico that work where I do. These guys go to work everyday, raise families, don't divorce their wives just because their 40, and their kids go to college. And they aren't looking for a handout. Savage subscribes to a nationalist 'collective' identity that goes against the very fabric of capitalism and individualism. If you want to read a real conservative read Ayn Rand (the mentor of Fed Chair Alan Greenspan). No there's a real anti socialist for you. If you follow the well meaning but poorly thought out philosophy of thinkers like Savage, you will be easy prey for liberals. Why, because despite the best of intentions, your ideas will be rooted in the same collectivist fallacies that the Clintons used to try and foist national health care on us.
Rating: Summary: Bravo! Michael Review: A must read for all Americans. This book should be required reading for all high school students in America. A call to arms for everyone in this country who's sick and tired of bleeding heart liberals giving this country away to the special interest groups in the name of the almighty vote. Bravo Michael!
Rating: Summary: Truthful! Review: Michael Savage is one of the few radio talk show hosts who isn't afraid to say it how it is. It is refreshing and enlightening to hear such truth and patriotism. The book is an excellent representation of him, and his show. An excellent and informative read.
Rating: Summary: The truth hurts. Review: I understand why people are upset with this book. It's hard to realize that things that you thought or believed your whole life are actually crazy and completely messed up. It's upsetting, but it's okay. Welcome to the truth! This book is excellent. I like the way that Mr. Savage writes at a level that everyone can understand. He is a very smart man and knows how to put together intelligent thoughts. Yes, maybe he is a little angry in the book, but he has to be agressive so that he can cut through the thick lies of the liberals! Give the book a chance, even if you are a hardcore tree-hugging, hollywood loving, feminist liberal. Read it. Try it. Please. For the sake of our nation's future!
