Rating: Summary: Not an Original Thought in the Whole Book Review: If you're looking for an interesting and thoughtful book by a conservative who wants real change, look somewhere else. Blaming liberals is pointless now that the Republicans have control of the White House, the House and the Senate. It's time for a book that says 'here's what the conservatives are going to do to make the U.S. better.' Reagan may have given the weapons to the Taliban, Bush Sr. wasted a lot of effort and money in Iraq, and Clinton didn't wipe out Al Qaeda because he was too focused on the economy. So what? Let's move on. What's next? Skip this book. It is not worth the money.
Rating: Summary: One of the funnier books to come along in a while Review: A little context: I don't listen to Michael Savage. Nor do I listen to Rush Limbaugh. I DO like Sean Hannity, though not having cable and without his radio show in my market, I don't regularily get to hear him. The Savage Nation does represent what might be called "the far Right." However, I find Mr. Savage's ideas, many of which I do not agree with, no more implausible or offensive than the typical utterances of persons like Bill Maher or (heaven help us) Michael Moore. Yet Maher and Moore are seldom regarded as loonies, as is Savage. Why not? Why do fringe lefties get a free pass and fringe righties get trashed? Because the information elite, deeply in bed or at least fellow-travelers with the likes of Maher and Moore, never call down their own. Personally, I'm thrilled someone like Michael Savage can air and publish his views. We get enough of the semi-loonie left through outlets too numerous to count; it's refreshing to hear from the semi-loonie right every once in a while.
Rating: Summary: If Only There Were Zero Stars Review: To give you an example of so-called liberal media bias: Rachel on Friends having a child out of wedlock and not being called a whore or stoned is "liberal media bias". Will and Jack on Will&Grace not being portrayed as homosexual preditors with AIDS preying on children and loser drug addicts is "liberal media bias". Basically, all "liberal media bias" is is every television show, song on the radio or movie not being based in "Christian" values, which apparently no longer mean charity, hospitality, judge not yet ye be judged, do unto others as you would have them do unto you, and that it is not what a man/woman puts in his/her mouth but what comes from his/her heart that defiles him/her. While I'm a Democrat and not ashamed of it, I certainly agree that the more liberal end has done it's fair share of damage, but the same can be said for the far right. In reality, far anything (right or left) is negative, and their contributions will only hurt over all. A completely closed mind, as this author is in possession of, is just as bad as one than has no capasity to close at all. Human decency doesn't have a political stance or agenda, but rarely do you see kindness or understanding discussed in these types of books. It is only who is right, who is wrong, who is to blame, and of course that never includes the writer or their party. We're all to blame, and all these types of books do is perpetuate division, anomousity and hatred. It's rather ironic that many here claim he is following the "true ideals of our founding fathers", because he, like many conservatives, are in direct conflict with them. Our founding fathers believed that the most important time for citizens to speak out are in times of national stress, that politics and religion should never mix, that the press should act as a fourth check not mearly a microphone for the government, and that privacy is the most valuable aspect of our rights next to speech. Yet we hear again and again how disagreement with the smallest policy is un-American, that we should adopt Christian values everywhere, and someone cares whether or not people are having sex (why are people paying attention to what others are doing in their bedrooms?) or whom they're having sex with. How can ideas that conflict with the Bill of Rights be "what our founding fathers intended"?
Rating: Summary: Don't let entertainers think for you Review: I think it is a sad, sad time when our president steals an election, radio talk show personalities are given credence and war is spoken about as if its a patriotic right. This man is paid to entertain. He was not elected, he does not have anyone to answer to. Making him rich with your blind anger. That's what's wrong, everyone is so angry. Think about why. Then maybe our country may survive. You definitely won't find it in an entertainer's words on a paid radio show or in the trite they have someone write for them. See "Bowling for Columbine", you'll finally have your eyes opened.
Rating: Summary: Brilliant insight in an age of cultural marxism Review: Michael Savage provides his readers with great wit, factual and convincing arguments why Americans have to embrace our own culture, take control of our out of control southern border and that everyone speak English, the language of our Constitution. Michael is very educated and alerts the reader of the perils of radical feminism, the dangers of affirmative action, and makes the case for us normal working Americans to win the cultural battle against delusional Democrats. I highly recommend this book and his great radio show. God Bless America.
Rating: Summary: Protect America the Beautiful Review: A "must" read for those Americans wanting to uphold our Constitution, morals, and values. Savage provides a well-written and patriotic piece that makes my conservative heart sing.
Rating: Summary: junk Review: I just finished Michael Savage's new book and this continues to support the fact that Savage is a hoax. He does not have a PHD nor did he ever attend the University of California at Berkeley. This work spits all the hatred and anger that is found on his radio show and nothing new here. This book should be read, it shows the direction that the Bush/Cheney team members are taking us.
Rating: Summary: The Savage Nation Review: Dr Savage's book is a must read. I have listened to him since he was a on a one hour late night show at a liberal station. His message has resounded with the Americans among us, irrespective of color, creed and culture. Now he can be heard on 300 stations across the country. His prescieht knowledge of events, past, present and future have often given me a new perspectives.I call I them 'Savage Aha!' moments. His vast knowledge, a dead on lock on events and his incisive wit, coupled with a take no prisoners attitude entertain and inform me every day. His book does the same. A Proud American Member of the Paul Revere Society
Rating: Summary: A True Look at America Today Review: Michael Savage has taken his great radio show and turned it into a great book. This book is a must read for conservatives and liberals alike. It is a hard-hitting, smart look at the moral and political decay in America and the dangers of liberalism. Borders, language, and culture scored big points with me!
Rating: Summary: Snake Oil, Monkey Hips & Rice Review: Savage is one angry dude. He has turned this anger into one long tirade against everything he disagrees with in this country. A nation under Savage would be a nation divided, perhaps, separtate but equal. For all his supposed education, Savage cannot back up his claims with facts, nor can he defend a point too long without decending into the muck and mire of name calling. This book is perhaps a good coffee table book, or at least a coaster, but go elsewhere if you are looking for ideas.
