Rating: Summary: Probably the worst book ever written Review: Some one has written in a review that Savage (real name Michael Wiener)himself is writing most of the positive reviews here. I couldn't agree more. If you go through the names, you'll see 3 or 4 names appearing over and over again. Besides being a nitwit and an ego-maniac, Savage is also a dishonest self-promoter. What else can one expect from a snake oil salesman who's written a flurry of quack "herbal science" books a decade ago? Every page drips with venomous hatred and rudeness and stinks with ego. He's a shame to every group he associates himself with...including humans.
Rating: Summary: People with Old & Foolish Ideas will Hate this Book Review: The Left hates Michael Savage's book because he is not afraid to speak the truth about the Left. His book unmasks the Lefts' hateful and yes Anti-American beliefs that are destroying our Nation. Perhaps Michael Savage's book will help some on the Left to pause a moment, stop the name calling and start doing an honest and critical review of their (the Left's) old and foolish set of beliefs. If the Left is has it in them to have an open mind perhaps the Nation with the motto "One Nation Under God with Liberty and Justice for All" has a chance to survive after all.
Rating: Summary: Liberalism is indeed a mental illness! Review: This is a wonderful time of hope for those of us who are rock-steady conservatives. Michael Savages tome adds to the already solid foundation of written works released recently by Sean Hannity, Michelle Malkin, and the wonderful Ann Coulter. These authors ARE the watchmen of the present age. They wave the lanterns of warning in hope of steering America from a fatal crash and burn. Michael Savages book is the truth. Those who dislike his message do so because the light he shines exposes them for who they are....liberal fools who want to "Bring it all down, man." There is only one Michael Savage, but he speaks for the legion of clear minded individuals like myself, who love America and want to halt its demise at the hands of the demonic ACLU. Buy two copies, one to read and one to give to your favorite Liberal. Rock on Mike Savage!
Rating: Summary: Full of hate, lacking ideas Review: Savage on his radio show has demonstrated little compassion for his fellow human beings who have less than he has been able to grab. From complaining about tax payers funding an opperation to separate siamese twins (Hey Mike! Broken down the whole thing cost you about TEN CENTS!- Send me your address & I'll pay your share, you cheap Scrooge), to putting down the looks of intellegent women in the media. It seems like Savage (not his real name, but a stage name he hides behind), needs some serious anger management, and perhaps was often the last one picked in the school yard for games of kickball.Putting all this aside, the book itself is poorly constructed. Savage rants, he goes on about tirades, and furthers the "culture of fear" that Conservatives like himself are prone to do. Other reviewers have said he comes down on Republicans and Democrates the same, but one need only read the reviews to see where the balance falls. Savage is myopic, a woman hater, and wants you to think like him, NOT think for yourself.
Rating: Summary: Junk Philosophy and Paranoia Review: I read parts of it at Powell's. It's the usual rhetoric that's on the show, plus some added/extended verbiage. Worthless, nothing new, and most of all: boring. Heard it all on the radio show. At least he doesn't go into his digestive and gastronomic complaint ramblings like on the radio. Worthless at any price...
Rating: Summary: Awesome Book! He Has a Lot of Fans! Review: Savage tells it like it is, which makes a lot of people uncomfortable. He points out how uncontrolled immigration & open borders are going to destroy America - see 9-11 if you think he is wrong. A lot of Republicans think he is too harsh along with most Democrats. Savage's protect the borders policy or "borders, language & culture" also win him no fans in the Bush White House. Bush has done more about the invasion of America than Clinton but Bush has not done enough. BTW, a lot of people listen to Mr. Savage and he has a lot of fans & supporters. I ran into a person on an airplane the other day who was also a huge Savage fan. I like Rush but Savage really tells it like it is and he does not care if he steps on Republican toes as well as liberal Democrats. Rush tows the RNC line too much and other conservative talk show hosts are more wimpy than Rush. Buy the book if you want to know the awful truth about how America is being turned into a Third World cesspool. See what is happening in the UK if you think this is not a serious threat.
Rating: Summary: Not worth it Review: Savage is a great show man. He says things that only appeal to those who can not think on their own. Savage's arrogance comes accross in this book like it does in his radio show. There is nothing in the book that can save America, the message in the book is that of hate...just like his radio show.
Rating: Summary: Prime Time for a true Patriotic Spokesperson Review: This book is one that really speaks to me and reflects my own political views on what is really going on in this country. If you are a true-blue patriot and love this country and the true principles of its original founding fathers, you will find your blood boiling, as I did, as you really get into this book. The liberal left is perpetuating the "big lie" and I, for one, am sick of quietly going through life and letting the "squeaky wheel" always get the "oil". Michael Savage, and what he has done with his Paul Revere Society, is a cause I can rally behind. He has generated such emotion around how we need to take action to fight our #1 enemy (the liberals) and have a say in the direction in which my country is heading. Go Michael - I would fight side by side with you in my "fighting hole" any time (Marines use "fighting holes" instead of the "fox hole" because foxes use holes to hide). Thanks
Rating: Summary: narrow minded expose of ignorance and hate Review: Dr. Savage, a popular talk show host, wrote a new book "The Savage Nation" which explains his views on the variety of topics on politics and culture. Those can be expressed in 3 words - borders, language and culture. Savage is protecting his image of America by excluding everybody who does not subscribe to a very narrow point of view, which excludes people from other cultures, people in disadvantageous social position, of alternative sexual persuasion. Savage is a talented demagogue, poorly educated in complexity of politics and history. His book contains a variety of factual errors in the topics of 20 century European and American history. I found Savage's rhetoric intellectually thin, emotional and immature. Frankly, he is a very entertaining radio talk show host, but in order to venture into jounralism one has to know something about principles of argumentation. His audience of ignorant rednecks, incompetent loosers, and sexually frustrated housewifes does not translate well into the printed word. My advise to Savage is to stick to what he knows - radio format, and do not try to bring out his views in more intellectually sophisticated medium. Ultimately, Savage does not respect his own readers by offering us something which is half-baked, poorly researched and full of overreaching generalizations. And this comes from the man who aspires to be a leader of the profoundly new political action. I must grant that this book is an entartaining read, but please do not take it seriously as a manifesto for political action. Savages views does not represent America, they represent everything which is wrong with our borders, language and culture.
Rating: Summary: Are the rumors true? Review: There is a rumor going around in some circles that most of the positive review of this book have been posted by Savage himself. A ... self-promoter, Savage pumps his ego into the microphone, stinking up cars and homes across the nation with the nonsense that liberals are taking over this country. Savage plays into the culture of fear like magician Ricky Jay plays poker, straight faced and with a couple of aces up his sleeve. His rants and tirades in the book are to be taken with a grain of salt. Savage seems to be the latest in the "flavor of the week" radio hosts, in syndication. Yet he lacks depth and his views are not well defended, except for his "I'm smarter than you" attitude. Savage, you can't fool all of the people with your act.
