Summary: John Edward in comparison to James Van Praagh's books
Review: John Edward didn't set forth to be "let me teach you how it is done" in this book, and for that I have to give him kudos since he wanted to delve into other subject matter relating to after death communication thoughts. He shared his youth with us in a way that didn't dwell heavily on becoming "I am the greatest" thoughts ... and the readings he shared were nice touch but nicely interspliced with his personal thoughts.

Much better than JVP's books that seem to want to be cross between "I can semi-teach you how it is done ... but won't do it in book" since Edward politely skipped trying to do that but instead shared how he found people who helped him cultivate his skills - and thus in a way encouraging other people to feel free to ask questions to people they may know closer to them in locale or whatever and possibly learn more than he could put to paper for others to read.

This isn't a learning book, but one that sticks to the title's thoughts - about having a one last time.

I don't know why some people who haven't read it and provided quotes out of another source clicked on the "I have read it and would like to contribute a review" just to have a 15 second spot of cyberspace to espouse their said religious thoughts to others (clearly indicating they have not bought nor read the book to begin with) or to wonder why someone didn't "teach them how to do it" when no where in the slipcover or chapter titles does he give the notion he would try to teach via a book or in a couple of short, sweet chapters. He instead comes from a more "down to earth" wording and not trying to toss in metaphysical terms left and right to have the reader grow confused as to what the heck he is talking about.

I just hope that John Edward won't fall into the same trap JVP has and just limit himself to cruises, tabloid shows, or such to do readings and thus turn his back on the people who also bought his book and would like to know more or contact him so he can share his gift. I recommend this book more so than any of JVP's books.

Summary: Disappointing book
Review: I read this book with the high hopes of really understanding what the dead have to say about the important things we must deal with here, but all this book brings is just more conveniently edited readings. The readings seem wonderful, but when I saw Mr. Edward in a seminar in Las Vegas, it was nothing close to the perfect readings in the book. It left me so disappointed.

Summary: This book changed the way I think about everyday occurrences
Review: I can't imagine how some people would give this book a poor review. After seeing Mr. Edward on Larry King Live, I truly believe that he is a legitimate medium. The accounts of his encounters with the other side are so compelling that I repeatedly found myself with tears in my eyes. Despite the fact that I've never lost a close person besides older grandparents, I found myself able to relate with the people in the book. In addition, I now know that some coincidences are too poignant to not be related to otherworld intervention. This book helps one to realize that everything happens for a reason, and the inner peace I've found since being convinced of this has made the few dollars I spent on the book worthwhile.

Summary: INTERESTING & BELIEVABLE
Review: It seems that I have now read a good selection of books written by mediums. JOHN EDWARD seems as though he too is on a life-mission of sharing the light and love of the after-world. I always learn something profound from such books. I like your book "A PSYCHIC MEDIUM SPEAKS TO THOSE WE HAVE LOVED AND LOST." I also recommend JAMES VAN PRAAGH'S first book "Talking to Heaven" and JENNY CRAWFORD'S book "THROUGH THE EYES OF SPIRIT."

Summary: Excellent Reading - believable and dynamic
Review: I bought this book after seeing John Edward on the Larry King Live show. He impressed me as he didn't come off as being "above" the rest of us. I found his book to be almost just like you were sitting in the room with him and discussing the subject. I found him to be a fascinating person - and at such a young age; he has many years to go and to assist people who have lost loved ones suddenly to give them the peace of mind that they have reached the other side and are fine. I also

found his experiences with his mother here and beyond to be interesting. I'd recommend this book to anyone who is interested in psychics to read this book.

Summary: no fluff.... to the point... thought provoking
Review: I have read many books on this subject, and have followed the careers of many "acclaimed" professionals in the field. I believe the itegrity of his work, his honesty, and down to earth explanations of his work shines through. I recommend this book to all those who are truly interested in understanding the mechanics of this type of communication.. and it really helped. Knowing that the author still feels like he is on a quest for understanding and more knowledge made him more real.. and not like some of the others that just perpetuate themselves...

Summary: Not as good as it should be
Review: As one who is very interested in the other side (my son is there), I have found much more comfort and satisfaction from other books of the same genre - primarily George Anderson's books. I tend to be skeptical and critical of medium abilities and was not at all impressed by the readings described in One Last Time. I've been reading at it for two months and still haven't finished the book.

Summary: An excellent book on a fascinating topic.
Review: Having recently finished reading this book, I feel compelled to comment on the sense of peace I have found. It is difficult to distinguish what is authentic and inauthentic in this field. Now I know. Mr. Edward's sensitivity and use of his gift bring credibility to the subject and healingto the reader. "By their fruits you shall know them..."

Summary: Not-so-hot book written by a cold-reader.
Review: The quality and accuracy of the inforamtion Mr. Edward claims to glean during the sample "readings" given in this book are unbelieveable...

very unbelievable.

The readings Mr. Edward describes in this book might be a little more credible if the readings he gives in his live appearences resembled them in any way. Alas, it's much harder to hide the inaccuracy of his "cold-reading" act on camera than it is on paper.

Summary: A perfectly believeable consep of what life & death are ab
