Rating: Summary: spiritually uplifting Review: This book gives you hope and brightens your day. I read this book every 2-3 months to renew my spirituality and strenghthen my resolve to exsist in this world.
Rating: Summary: Great book, lotsa words to live by - nondenominational Review: Universally appealing. Bypasses the usual dogma and gets in to the true spirit of what religion should mean to everyone. Follow the spirit not the word.
Rating: Summary: The true way of life Review: This book was a wild awakening. It is almost comparable to the bible, in that it teaches you about a way of life, one that makes sense. Some may comment that the notion that we are all free to do whatever we want to do is hardly possible in the real world, but it is no less plausible than believing that a man named 'Jesus' was sent by 'God' to free us of our 'sins'.
Rating: Summary: A highly recommended book! Review: I received this book for my birthday and knew nothing about it. I seriously picked it up and read it in one sitting, since it's such a quick read. It was so nice to read a book that announced that it's okay to do what you want-in fact, that's what life is about. Do what you want and you will be happy, don't be too preoccupied with other people (don't completely ignore them...) and things will happen for you. All things happen for a reason. I can guarantee that I will keep this book and reread it often, unless I lend it out to too many people!
Rating: Summary: The "Illusion" is that this book is meaningful Review: I heard about Richard Bach from several individuals and I'm always up for a book that gives you a "swift kick in the rear" to get you recentered on your life. So after reading this overpriced, ludicrous tale: I can sum up my emotions by the famous punctuation mark "?". So people can do whatever they want! Yay! Bach fails to recognize that there are consequences in life for errant decisions. Instead he talks about swimming in the earth and walking on the water - if, of course, that's what we want to do. We can do anything! I guess the thing that really disturbed me about this book was that there wasn't any correlation to the way life really is. Can we all be brain neurosurgeons? Of course not. Some people aren't capable of "doing" things. Not according to Bach! As long as we're willing to work, we can do it! Get real. Pick up a copy of Paulo Coelho's "The Alchemist" for an outstanding inspirational read. Leave Bach's nonsense on the shelves.
Rating: Summary: Life Changing Review: It's the book that I've always wanted to read. For so long I wanted to find a book that brought out spirits and the universe. A book different from any other. A book that's waiting for the person like myself who wants to find different possibilities in this life and different adventures. A book that has a meaning far above many individuals perspectives and believes. A book that has made more sense to me than any other. I want to write like Bach.
Rating: Summary: I highly recommend this book!!!!! Review: "Illusions" is an incredible book that I cannot wait to re-read and live the principles that lie within the pages. I look forward to passing this text along to those that I love so that they too may be inspired and recognize the Messiah in themselves.
Rating: Summary: A very intersting book that gives you a new look on life. Review: I really enjoyed the book Illsions, I think one of the best parts of the book was the quotes from the Massiah's Handbook, Reminders for the Advanced Soul. I would recomend this book to anyone who is open to new ideas!
Rating: Summary: The best book I've read in 25 years. Review: The most influential, awe-inspiring and joyous book I've ever read. I have given away at least 14 copies of this book to friends over the years. This book still effects me after many years of reading it. I LOVE IT!
Rating: Summary: You will believe you can walk on water. Review: My father gave me this book one day. I had read JLS and had fallen in love with it (the seagull as a metaphor for humanity was wonderful). My father naturally assumed I would like this book. Right. I put it in the book shelves with the intention of letting it gather dust. But something happened. I read the book. I loved the book. I read it quite often, still. The idea of truth and happiness being so easy to find is the first and most obvious appeal of this book. But what of the entire metaphysical aspect? Bach portrays everything I know to be wrong in a way that made me believe. This is THE best book I have ever read. Not philisophically, but story wise. This book is the quickest "upper" I have ever read. Thanks Dad, this is the best thing you ever gave me, aside from life.
